Really? That's the first I'm hearing of this. I haven't seen any other videos online, though I haven't specifically searched for them. Now you have piqued my interest. Check out @3dprintsos, I don't want to speak for him too much, but he did tell me so far he liked the unit he got. I'm waiting for his final thoughts. He has 1 livestream with it so far.

I have been linked this video a few times. I really really dislike that video. It was not composed well. That video definitely doesnt make the printer look as good I claim, I will admit. I definitely dont trust the video though, especially given my personal experience.
I haven’t seen anyone have difficulty with it. Since I am interested in buying one, I have watched every video. Grant it, this is the only “glowing review” and didn’t show many prints. I have seen people that had major issues with the Sovol SV07, yet you gave it a “glowing” review. The same with everyone else that were paid to review it. Guess it is the QC process.

The lack of some sort of guide rail on the rear Z concerns me. If there's any sort of Z-wobble going on, which is easy to imagine happening given that exposed lead screw and accidentally bumping it, then won't the bed then start to wobble slightly as it changes Z height? Seems like a good recipe for some wavy walls.
Hmmm that's honestly a good observation. I think it could easily be added as a mod, not that that should be necessary, but yeah it probably would be wise. I will say though, in my testing there's definitely no z wobble
Great video Jerry. This is still on my reviews to-do list. Looking forward to it based on your experience. Reminds me a lot of the KLP1. These two machines seem to be the first of the fully open Klipper generation, so will be interesting to see which comes out on top.

Kudos to Two Trees for providing good profiles for Cura and PrusaSlicer. So many 3D printers launch with a reskinned old version of Cura with a printer profile but often no filament profiles. More kudos for fully unlocked Klipper and Fluidd. We've seen too much Krippled Klipper pawned off as proprietary firmware. I'd like to enclose the SK1 for ABS, etc., and I want to ditch the reverse Bowden tube and feed from above because I print a LOT of TPU. I had my hopes set on a larger format for my 12th 3D printer. 🙂
Yeah those things you mentioned are honestly the primary things for me. A few viewers have mentioned twotrees history with QC, and I cannot talk to that, but this machine is SOLID. I really like it. As for customer support, for printers that are open source, customer support is kind it useless imo. It'd be ideal to have good customer service, but I don't ever plan to contact that. For a product like Bambulab develops, yeah I'd definitely want good customer service.
I got this printer on the 17th. I had to upgrade the firmware right away. Besides that, it's been printing everything I want. I haven't tuned the flow or anything yet. But using cura, and I accidentally printed a fidget cube with .3mm clearances, @600mm/s and my old printer that's a 7 hour plus print, the SK1 did it in 69 minutes.
It's honestly a tank. TwoTrees did such a good job. I am very impressed
Is the only way to send a g code file to the printer with a internet connection? It sounded that way in your video or did I misunderstand what you ment ? I need a memory card setup for operating the printer.
I apologize for the confusion. It is the only way I sent files to the computer. There is local USB printing available. You do not need to use wifi at all. This printer can function and never connect to the internet.

First I just love the fact that I see Aqua Net hair spray can in the background I use that on my build plates even with the Bambu Labs printers it just works.
I still use it some, in fact I just even sprayed it on my Bambu plate yesterday, but the vision miner nano polymer has definitely taken primary spot as adhesion additive. I usually spray the entire bed with aquanet then I use the nano until it's time to clean it all off 😂 you should check out that nano stuff if you haven't seen it before. Is there any enclosures available for this printer?
The printer frame is milled for an enclosure, but it is not yet released. It will be released as a kit, similar to the p1p, in about a month (last I was told)
I think this review is putting weight on things that are primarily preferences rather than actual performance or features. First, we should acknowledge this printer doesn't even have an enclosure or equiped with a abrasive ressistant nozzle and extruder. That already is a huge miss in capability. So take that perfect printer clickbait trash out of here. The rear mount spool holder allows minimal drag for the fedding the material. The SK1 routing is possible because there is no lid right above the printhead. That initial bend near the inlet is extremely problematic and will cause problems with stiffer/rougher filaments. Open vs closed system is a preference. There are pros and cons to both. You should speak more on the values of a controlled ecosystem. Bambu already comes factory trammed. the mesh auto bed leveling takes care of the rest. It works great. Cura is a decent slicer but Studio integration and features are on another level. Remember the ecosystem? I like a good touchscreen and UI. But the fact that you heavily rely on screen controls for your workflow is proof of a poor ecosystem integration. I mainly load an unload filament on the screen. Most of my workflow is done in the slicer and little on the app as well. Does two trees have an app to control and monitor prints? How about spaghetti detection and first layer inspection. Or sensor based maintenance notifications? Bed plate material options? The bambu material library with tuned profiles? Remember you had to make changes to print settings for reliable printing? Availability of replaceable components? How many hours do you have on this machine? You cant claim a perfect printer without at least 1000 hours. Lets see a review at 5000 hours.
There is so much here that I genuinely cannot respond to it all. You bring up some good points, but ultimately I will boil it down to this: a review is inherently pure bias, which can also be considered preferences. The function of this printer was easier to use and produced a better quality print than every other printer I currently own besides my X1C. My slicer of choice was Cura but it can use prusa or orca just as easily. An ecosystem like Bambulab has is VERY nice, but it can also be VERY restricting. I absolutely do not want my printer to be stuck with primarily using a phone app. I typically want on board controls or a computer based app/webapp to control it. Users have been begging for manufactures to ditch the rear mounted filament holder for over a year. It's the biggest user experience flaw on nearly every printer. I absolutely love your interaction even though we have a difference of opinions. Thank you, genuinely, for commenting!!! I really do hope to see you around in the comment section more often!! :D
I am guessing the person asking has no idea about all of the other options for ai print failure detection before Bambi even existed. Open source and unlocked klipper means just that. You can install anything you wish that works with klipper. Spaghetti detective/Obico for instance. There are others. How hard is it to print or cut your own panels: Bambu sells their own printer without panels so that’s a strange gripe. You’re coming off as a fanboy and I doubt you did any research at all to understand what you could have if the bambu software wasn’t locked. The P1 is a great printer but it does indeed come at a cost and it’s for those who don’t want have the ability to tweak or customize sorta like a iPhone.
@@Bigpopp1 you're making a lot of unfound assumptions about me and misinterpreting my message. I'm not saying there is no value in open source systems that utilize things like Klipper. I literally said there are pros in my comments. I built and own a Voron V0. I've done plenty of research because it is not just a hobby, but required of my profession. My message is when calling out something that is a "bad feature" such as a closed ecosystem, there is a significant population that actually prefers that. I also have experience in industrial additive manufacturing systems, especially in filament routing. And I'm saying simply stating the rear position is the worst and the side is better is coming from an oversimplified understanding (even if it's the consensus if a typical user) of the issue with limited testing and evidence.
@@ThePrintHouse to be clear if I wasn't already in my previous comment, I'm not opposing the Klipper/open system pathway. I love it. I like Vorons! I've built one myself. I'm saying there are merits to a closed ecosystem too. I'm not saying one is better. I'm saying they are different.
@eighty-eighth_section personal opinion here, so take it for what it's worth... the people that I know that like closed systems (in more than just 3dp) are people who cannot figure problems or failures out on their own. They enjoy that all of the work was done by someone else and all they have to do is hit a few buttons and it works. They like appliances, not tools. Tool have to be learned to use, appliances just needs some buttons pressed. Tools also get upgraded, appliances get pitched once some new tech comes out.
So your ranting made me buy one, it arrived, the X and Y sensitivity was too high causing the printer to think X and Y happened 3 inches short and crashing the hotend into the front left... Fixed it but when I tried to login to add KAMP to klipper I cannot find the login information, Two Trees has not responded to my request to purchase a camera so I doubt they will help me.

They finally replied: No camera. They did give me the user/password and threatened legal action if I 'miss-used' it, some 'open system'. I did find the user/password in a PDF explaining how to install their camera and at Makerbase but it is useless as the OS is based on a version of linux that is 4 years old and not supported with apt, the errors are that the files are deprecated with no means to add or update. @@sky__net9797

I think I confirmed a firmware install once on my bambu. Other than that I have never touched the screen.
I use the bambu screen for changing filament in my AMS sometimes...thats about it. I used Fluidd for the SK1 75% of the time, but having the ability to use the screen and it be seamless is very nice. Especially for files I saved into the printers storage device.
So... it's a bambulab with the speeds turned up? Seems to be a direct clone with some alternative slicer pre-configuration options?... what did they bring to the market to get such a glowing review? (You yourself even said nothing really)
I wouldn't really call it a bambulab. I dont like comparing anything to bambulab because they're in another league with their business model. I will say though that the quality I have on this printer is as good as my X1C. There is no "new" tech in this printer. It is just the first time all the current latest tech and firmware has been combined into a single package correctly and implemented well.
The point is performance per dollar and features. It performs like a Bambu Lab or slightly better for the same money or slightly less with fully open source software which Bambu Lab doesn't offer. If the Bambu Lab gets a glowing review, why wouldn't this?
Why the clogs? I have printed a few kg pet-cf and PC on xplus3 and didn't have a clog yet...
And it has the enclosed and heated chamber...
Thats a good questions. I didn't include that in the video because I felt that it would have added a lot of length to explain. The extruder never clogged during printing, rather it clogged when I would perform an unloading maneuver. I think this problem is caused by a less than adequate printer cfg macro. I think when I get some time to spare, I can do a better tip forming calibration and it will unload filament a lot easier with no clogs.

Im very skeptical about this printer. As much as I believe in your positive review, Twotrees had problems with QC with their other printers. I have a Sapphire Plus made by them and it has tons of issues like the poorly built hotend, software for the controller board and the controller board itself. It is a great printer for someone who likes to tinker, but I find myself running into so many issues that I just have it sitting partially disassembled in my garage. I would look up forums about people talking about the Sapphire Plus and they would also have the same issues I had. I hope their QC has improved overtime. For now I'm pretty distant about TwoTrees in general but I hope lots of people who get this printer don't run into the frustrations I had with their older printers.
Yeah honestly I wish I had more insight. As I mentioned in the video I really didnt even know they made printers. I thought they were purely an accessories company until this thing. I am beyond happy with it's performance. They do have some old style tech in their other printers which is never good
As someone who likes to tinker with hardware more than actually print things, I like most of what I see here. I do think the price is just ever so slightly too high though. I'm my opinion I would need to replace the entire toolhead, add a beacon probe or even klicky, and add a piece of extrusion and a linear rail to the rear z lead screw right off the bat. If I could do that and still be around $500 I'd be all over this. I don't really care about any of the firmware side of things as that's all easily changed. I'm skeptical of that stamped metal bed frame and from my experience with the sapphire plus I'm also skeptical of how square and true the motion system is. Maybe if they include panels for an enclosure at the current price I'd be a little more interested. As it stands right now I just don't think the price is right for me.
Yeah I see what you mean. I think the probe they chose could be upgraded. I am not a fan of it. As for the hot end, I am perfectly happy with it, but I can see myself exchanging it for the coprint package when it arrives. I definitely understand your concerns on the squareness of the printer. Sadly I have never experienced a different TwoTrees product, so I really dont have any input I can provide
i was looking at the sp5 i wonder how that compares, far as the AMS .. look at the chameleon it's been pretty interesting co print is obviously an option with the new chroma setup but chameleon is substantially cheaper
I think the sp5 is a dinosaur when technology is considered. It looks like an ender 5 clone to me, though I havent really dug into it that much

That is true, although Im not 100% sure how well the hot end performs. I will say though that I am very interested in putting the coprint on my SK1. I have a coprint in the mail and I might be doing that!
It worries me slightly when a reviewer is impressed by sharp corners.. that tells me you didn't (and haven't been doing so in the past) setup a proper filament profile using #s from pressure advance and flow ratio calibrations.. which is a must for any printer especially when comparing printers. Sharp corners is usually a matter of filament tuning and not printer hardware.
You are right, it is definitely related to printer tuning and not hardware limited. Pressure/linear advance is relatively new calibration. As a reviewer, I should not be testing what a printer is capable of, I should be testing what is reasonable to assume a printer can do easily. If I look back even 6 months ago, pressure/linear advance was not a calibration that most standard users would be able to do themselves, so that is why I mentioned it in this video. These calibrations are very easy to do and it makes me excited the laymen can now do them :D
What materials can it print?
It can print any standard material. Without the enclosure labels it will likely suffer with abs and asa, so I'd wait for the enclosure panels before printing those.
Buying this before the X2 and P2 series release in a couple months would be a colossal mistake.
I don't think that is entirely true. The X2 will be a whole new ballpark and the P2 is still stuck in the bambu ecosystem. Those that will buy a bambu product typically cannot be convinced to purchase a different product. Now dont get me wrong, my X1C is THE BEST printer in my studio, but I do think this is the apple vs android debate instead it is reskinned to be bambu vs klipper.

The beauty in an open market is that everyone has differing opinions about what is important and what isnt. A bambulab product isnt the product for everyone. Sometimes it's as simple as "I would buy a bambulab printer, but it isn't sold in my country" and that is a reason that many people overlook because they live in a more developed country so they dont see the supply and demand issue.
Why exactly is it compared to the X1C and not to the P1P?
Yeah, it’s probably marginally better overall than a P1P, but clearly the biggest advantage of X1C and P1S over this machine is the ability to print proper materials out of the box.
I think the X and P series are very similar. The printing capabilities are nearly identical. If the SK1 has the enclosure installed it is the same as P1P and X1C. They are all so similar I think you can compare them all
Full open Klipper is nice. Qidi is also good, but has some odd things
Yeah I was hard in qidi in this video, but it shouldn't be taken super seriously. I have a dedicated video on the printer and I liked it a lot, but for me, with access to tons of products, I can't see myself using the qidi is not a daily driver. I only kept it for when I print abs and asa
How can it be fully open with no root password? After you find the password you find out you can't update anything because the OS is too old and apt errors out since the files are missing@@ThePrintHouse
I am not really sold...maybe after i see many others test the machine. RIght now i would rather spend an extra hundred bucks and get a p1p.
One of the things I mentioned is that's it's just so hard to actually make a review of a killer product when there's nothing new, instead it's just done CORRECTLY, whereas everyone else has done it incorrectly. This is one of those printers that just feels like it was developed without cutting any corners. As for the p1p side of things, it's just hard to compare a Bambu to this machine. They both print exactly the same and there will always be people that gravitate towards Bambulab, and that's perfectly fine
I love my bambu printers, but I am not a brand fanboy. I believe that the p1p for the price offers more. 1- it is already known to be reliable. 2- extensive community means there are all kinds of mods, hacks, and help available. 3- can be upgraded easily into a P1s for more filament types. 4- up to 16 materials via ams. There may be even more advantages, but those are what come to mind quickly. Still, i love testing new printers. I wouldn't mind giving the sk1 a try 😊
@@How2Texan I would definitely be short sighted if I didn't agree that the p1p has a heavy swing at the plate. The p1p is a great product. In light of this video however, I will bring up the fact that to get multi color with the p1p it costs $350 per AMS which is definitely not something to scoff at considering the p1p is already $100 more expensive.
@ThePrintHouse you are correct. The ams is pricey and the new sk1 could use a 3d chameleon for multi color and it would be cheaper than the ams too. But the ams is so seamless and easy to use. I am excited to see future content on the sk1. I believe competition is healthy for the field of 3d printing.
@@How2Texan I will admit, I REALLY REALLY like the tight compact package of the bambu AMS. It looks good, it's convenient to use, makes filament swapping easier, etc. As for future SK1 content I definitely plan to have more. I might put the coprint on the SK1 when it arrives!
Received mine last week and had it up and running with absolutely zero experience in FDM. Stunned by what it can do. That's the only word for it.
Of course I managed to step on my dick when, like a moron, performed bed leveling without the build plate. Which bent the hot end. My own fault.
Being a handy sort of dude I set upon the task of repairing the device and discovered a few things:
The print head is complicated.
The print head screws are infuriating.
Thermistors are delicate and uncooperative.
Bambu hot ends fit perfectly.
She is back online now with the V2 hot end and printing perfectly. I lucked out and bought it on a whim last November for the princely sum of $400 and unlike a lot of stuff I've picked up over the years the SK1 has impressed the heck out all of us. More to come...
Sorry for your issues! Yeah this thing has been an absolute truck and I legitimately think I might buy more to fill out my farm with them. It is a MONSTER of a printer, given my current experience.
@thatdude592 - "Bambu hot ends fit perfectly." That's like a firearms manufacturer making a new pistol that uses Glock mags. It's a great way to increase customer satisfaction and decrease apprehension about purchasing a less known product. I won't buy a Bambu Lab printer because I don't like how they all but force customers to send files through their cloud server and punish those who don't with engineered aggravation, but being able to use a Bambu hot end makes me more likely to buy an SK1.

After testing I can confirm that the generic gV2 Bambu hotend fits and works perfectly.
Thermistor connect is 2pin JST PH type. Ceramic heater connect is screw terminals.
Phillips screws are designed with a "cam-out" feature to prevent overtigntening. Not such a bad idea when a company is exposing their product's hardware to DIY efforts.
Fair enough, that is something I never knew. Maybe because I am not a MechE. I will say though, in a world of hex screws only, it is VERY annoying, especially when they dont provide any replacements, not that I want to store replacement hardware anyway, but still...

@@doodle4532 I see what you mean, my apologies. I think I made it pretty clear in the video. It has auto bed mesh capabilities which is what the abl is for. The z offset is what needs the paper method. But yes, I do agree, it is bothersome to me that it needs the paper method, though it is a pretty easy process. Actually, this process should be able to be automated with some additional firmware enhancements.
@@ThePrintHouse I guess I just felt that your view was too optimistic about it. And glossing over important details that for a new person of the 3D printing. It would be a deal breaker. It does seem like a great printer. I personally owned a two tree printer. The support is the problem.
@@doodle4532 I see I see. It's always a balance between giving too many details which bore the audience so they leave and giving just enough to make everyone entertained and stay. And yeah I saw their previous lineup of printers and they do look just as I would expect. Old tech is very mechanical and not ideal for new users
Why would slowing the print speed down lower print quality?
Sorry if that part of the video was confusing. Slowing the speed down wont lower the quality. Giving the motors less power than the recommended specs can decrease their accuracy, but it is not guaranteed. Also, if you do that, you might even be able to recalibrate the A/B motors per the new power values and account for the lower power thusly resulting in no decreased accuracy/print quality. That is kind of getting deep into the weeds though, so I wouldnt recommend a common user to do that.
@@ThePrintHouse if anything ( other than to avoid overheating ) one would increase power given to the steppers. Unless one is having overheating issues.
I would think that TwoTrees did some testing and found the best settings for reliability and functionality of the steppers they chose. Not saying one can’t get more by increasing, just that they would likely to run into overheating issues
I was actually talking about reducing the power provided in order to reduce volume of the steppers. Yes if you increase the power then you would probably begin to overheat, especially without additional heat sinks
This machine looks worse in most aspects, except being more unlocked with klipper. That is great for some of us tinkerers in some ways. Klipper is glorious. But I honestly feel that X1C is superior and the coming X1E looks great for partly professional printing. The heated chamber and getting the features without bambu cloud is a great addition.

The thing is unless the build plate gets any larger these Bambu clones are just that a cheaper versions of the original. Even though you say this is close to perfect it's not. Bambu has already addressed the noise issue and I have to tell you they did a fantastic job with that firmware update it is simply amazing how quiet it is now. Most people once they find out how amazing Multi color printing is the AMS is the way to go and with out one on the SK1 you will need to go the 3rd party option which never works they way it should. BTW how many people are going to want to fool around with klipper? and if the do Bambu is already looking at the Open Source community with the release of an API and possible other avenues of access to things. Not to mention the release of the Panda Touch for the P1S, PiP models - Just my two cents which is all its worth
Oh yeah you are making all good points here. Like I said in the video, I honestly think anyone that's going to buy a Bambu is pretty hard set and their opinion likely won't change, which is totally fine. I absolutely love my x1c. It's truly the best printer I own, and the and is magnificent. As for klipper, I would 100000% prefer to print on a klipper machine. With this printer I did NONE of the "messing with klipper" the cfg was very well made. I like having the option to mess with it if I ever get in the tinkering mood.

I have a question. Reading the comments when good points are made (and kudos for accepting them and replying intelligently) you often say "besides mt X!C". If the X1C is better in those instances doesn't that make the SK1 less than perfect? I would offer that there's no "perfect" printer but the SK1 seems to fall short on what is almost standard Core XY features now. Addionally you mention that you did no flow rate testing, didn't print over 600mms. How is this a comprehensive enough review to support "perfect"? While I'd say Klipper is a positive, it's not innovative. Lastly, alot of what you're praising is often followed by "I feel" or "it feels". Those are subjective, and not definitive. I want to say I mean no disrespect, just wish to offer a persepecttive that some would objectively discount this vid because of.
I think this is a very well put together comment. Also thank you for the kind words and constructive criticism. I think the X1C can honestly not be compared to any other printer on the market. Not because of it's print quality, but because of it's entire package. The ecosystem, print quality, build quality, custom slicer, etc...The SK1 is the best NON-Bambu printer I own. I think I personally prefer the X1C, but that is because I have 3 businesses that use printers now and I dont have time to tinker. The SK1 is the most well put together klipper package on the market today. It carries over everything from the Bambu except the custom slicer. There is no custom slicer which I think would be great if twotrees had (which is the first time Ive ever said that). The SK1 build quality, print quality, speed, etc.. is all top notch. Because they did klipper RIGHT, it makes printer integration in my daily life seamless. This printer really, truly, gave me little to no hassle. If I look back 2 years on my life, I would say I want to own both an X1C and an SK1....for different purposes depending on what I want to do with my printing project. As for speed, I was slicing at 600mm/s and achieving that in the travel moves. It was reaching those speeds. As for marketing terms, we all know marketing is a different beast and you cant ever trust it. Bambulab does the same thing with their marketing terms. X1C is marketed for 500mm/s but it isnt actively extruding filament at that speed. If someone has the money for a bambu product and NEVER wants to tinker with it, then I think that is the better purchase. If someone wants a DANG GOOD printer and might want to upgrade, tinker, etc... in the future, this is the printer. If I was to buy 10 printers right now, I would buy 10 SK1 because the cost savings would begin to add up. I definitely think there is a time and a place for everything :D

You can get new screws.... you could even upgrade all of them to hex head screws. Hell, a real 3D printer enthusiast probably already has them somewhere
Seeing as I have 30+ printers, 6 buckets of replacement screws, and I've built a VORON which requires lots of screws, I can confidently say thats not true. Yes I have lots of hardware, but not hardware that is a drop in replacement. Is it possible, sure it is, and if I get more SK1 printers I will likely do that lol

Even that spiderman bust - you haven't mentioned much detail on how you've printed it. A bedslinger at 30 mm/s could print that quality for all I know. Internet is full of reviews that were paid for, Creality was caught buying fake positive comments and reviews. What makes twootrees different especially when the reviewer praises it mostly without any significant data and a cheap looking machine that doesn't even have part cooling to print at anything higher than 250mm/s (unless it has a plane propeller for a fan on the hotend, but then again you didn't say anything about it), and you try to sell me 700 mm/s. Velocity speeds is a big marketing hoax and you should know it best. And then you use this "you should trust me cause I did that unfavorable review once" which seems kind of desperate. That's where the scepticism comes from, sorry. Again no intention to pick up a fight just sharing an opinion on what you've posted for a public review.
If twotrees would have paid me for this, I would be even happier with the printer. I should ask for backpay.
Funny that you mention Albert. He posted on X that he refuses to review it, because of how terrible it is built. You said that he is an engineer, well after seeing some really close up shots in other review videos, I would say he is dead wrong. Just my opinion though. We all know he is a Voron guy, and printed parts are far superior to stamped steel parts 🤔.

Oof, I rarely leave negative reviews but this just felt like lazy butt kissing. It's soooo fast! How fast is it? Well I didn't test that, but they tell me 700. What's the flow? I didn't test that either, but trust me, it's perfect.
Luckily I never mentioned what the flow rate was capable of. And those two variables are independent of each other. In fact most manufacturers DO NOT test those variables at the same time. They test them independent of each other because we all know how marketing going. I typically leave the numbers game to the folks like cnc kitchen. I love numbers, but I hate making a video revolving around it. No fun in it and most users click away within minutes if the video composition is not REALLY REALLY good
@@ThePrintHouse would it really be too much trouble though to load up some well known PLA brand and do a Orca Slicer flow rate test and report the flow rate you saw when the extruder started to skip. From that value alone everyone can then get a good idea of the peak print speeds given whatever layer height.
That's a fair thought for sure. I could have done it, and I understand why some might be upset I didnt, but given the hotend is a bambu clone, I think everyone already has a reasonable estimate of flow rate capability. These videos have a significant amount of extra behind the scenes work than most people probably recognize, especially at an average pace of 3 - 4 video per week on top of my 40 - 50 hour per week day job, some tests and topics simply get overlooked, even if they seem small. A basic flow rate test would require 10 - 30 minutes to set it up specifically for the SK1, ~30 min to 1 hour to analyze the results, 30 minutes to record broll, 10 minutes to include it in the video script, 10 minutes to explain it to the editor, etc...I definitely understand why some people are upset I didnt include it, but I do hope this response shines some like onto why certain decisions are made for testing/content production.

You had my interest right up to the point where you said "philips head screws", nope, no longer interested in the printer. And you can tell TwoTrees that.
I knew I wouldnt be the only one. It is obnoxious and they made a GRAAAVE mistake. Thankfully Im sure someone can source better hex screws, but I dont have a bank of micro sized screws I can use as replacements. Also the threading might be different so the entire print head housing might need to be redesigned........a lot of work which I hope someone does for me so I can reap the benefits lol. I would do it, but I simply dont have the time.
I deal with philip had screws all the time at work, and I cuss at them every time they strip out. It’s such an archaic way of joining things together. Cap head screws are the way to go.
I know that they're there out of the box, but how much trouble and cost would it really be to simply replace them with cap screws (button or socket) instead?
Finding a replacement for these would not be the easiest task, unless you have all the sizes readily available.
The only thing worse is flathead screws!
No multi material system, no buy.... Unless someone invents another way for seamlessly removable supports - I cannot sell stuff with ugly surfaces and I don't have time for postprocessing and sanding. And no splitting up stuff to avoid supports and assembling it afterwards is not an option
So at the moment the only product on your radar is one from Bambulab? I can respect it, but it severely limits your options. Usually you can tune supports so you don't need pva support. What products do you sell?
@@ThePrintHouse Theoretically a fast IDEX printer or a toolchanger like the Prusa Max would be ideal for me - but they are either slow or in a pricerange of 5 Bambulap P1Ps with AMS or more - so yes - the most cost effective solution at the moment is Bambulab.... but of course I am always looking for Alternatives to be optimize production.
My problem is, my customers want a quality product and 3D-printing still hast the taste of cheap makeshift stuff to many endcustomers, so the products have to conceal layers, steps, artifacts, etc. What means that round parts absolutely HAVE to be printed in X/Y orientation to avoid layer stepping and therefore overhanging parts above have to be supported - because just tipping the whole model over 90° what would avoind the supports produces a horrible look.
BTW.: PVA is a nasty stuff you don't want sticking to your parts.
With the right temperatures and cooling times you can acieve absolutely smooth supports on PLA with a 100% filled PETG-Supportinterface and have the both materials stick about the same to each other like they stick to the printbed. You only need the PETG for about 3 layers of interface, so material changes are minimal:
The whole thing also works vice versa (PLA as support for PETG) but it sticks a bit harder as the PETG needs higher temperatures and melts the PLA more when printed on top....
So odd has so many bad reviews your it as reguards to be a good printer

I do not like that video. It was not really put together well. Also print quality always looks terrible when zoomed in so far. Comparatively it is worse in some cases in that video as well. I did not experience a single print quality issue on my unit.

The reviews I watched we not my favorite videos. As a youtuber I watch less youtube then you would think. I spend most of my time making videos rather than watching them. I do have 4 or 5 channels I regularly watch content from though. TwoTrees has not made any well known printers, so it's not hard for that to be swept under the rug

Well I definitely don't think it's the consumer's job to replace the screws or buy replacements for their poor design choice. Also I don't know the size or threads of these tiny things. I've spoken to 5 or 6 people that have said this is stupid and a deal breaker for them, just on principle
