That’s what I’ve been saying. I think Isayama is trying to separate himself from the characters and how much he butchered them. Who cares what “Mikasa wanted” it’s whatever you wanted Isayama, And Armin can’t find a solution unless you do and write it in. Only bad writers blame the downfall of the writing on their not real characters

Well I can't say I didn't learn something from this.
    1) I will never overhype a series untill it is finish ever again. Untill the last episode I'm always going to have that doubt in the back of mind that this can all go wrong.
    2) Don't ignore the signs. Let's be honest there were a lot of red flags that the ending was going to be bad(the drop in quality during rumbling arc, characters that we once loved becoming unlikeable post timeskip, isayama weird statements in interviews like not having a full understanding of eren untill he heard his voice actor) however we ignored it because we had faith that isayama will pull through. Never again. If I noticed the red flags in any series then I'm not even going to give the writers a chance like isayama and drop it. If I hear it has a good ending I will pick it back up, but untill then I'm not looking back.

I can't agree with you more dude !!
As you said since the time skip the plot was full of red flags 🚩🚩🚩.... Maybe I'm one of those fans who started holding their breath the moment when Levi gave the injection to Armin !!! The dude who was roasted like chicken then had 60 ft fall yet somehow he survived all that sh*t and took the injection instead of Erwin the commander and the Real leader/King of paradise ????!!!! I was like WTF DUDE??! my second red flag was Reiner being saved again however he should be killed right there and then ....my third red flag was Levi and Hange being Soo passive and okay with letting Erwin die when there was no one who can replace him as a Leader jezzz ... That was an a$$pull for sure !!!
I can f**cking write an essay about the disastrous plot we had read since the time-skip !!!
I feel like it's either Isayama's real story ended in the basement ( maybe his intentions were creating short manga with an open ending ) since the Manga/anime gained international fame and became extremely profitable he decided to stretch his story and fill it with Fan-service and turn it to generic shonen story because it's the easy way out
Or he just stole the plot/ideas from someone else's then he found difficulties to keep up with that person's story so he improvised which made the plot all over the place and ended with no real ending nor the questions were answered because that story wasn't his in the first place

What's peculiar about this is that I have seen or read stories with more or less badly written endings--but AoT is the only story that's ending pissed me off the most--even more than the time GoT ended. It's just so bad. Even other animes or manga that don't have great endings feel more "rewatchable and nostalgic" than this shit we got.

I think if we go with the translation where he says "Thank you" then it means that in that moment, Armin understood Eren's predicament. Eren's destiny was pretty much set in stone. He said at least twice to Armin that he wasn't entirely sure why he did the things he did, but he had to do them. He was never really free, a slave to his own destiny. Armin seemed to understand the burden. Still though, Isayama going with Eren's genocide instead of Armin finding a solution lowkey betrays the idea that Isayama, who actually writes himself through Armin, couldn't come up with something he saw as satisfactory. Which may be why he tries to save Armin's arc by having him save the everyone else through his conversation with Zeke in Paths and pretty much ending the story with Armin leading the ex-Corps/Warriors delegation on peace talks.

The story was already decent, but it became much better as though a professional had continued writing the story from then on. I was thinking that wow, Isayama had improved so much in such a short time.

It's actually a good technique as an author to view your characters as real people with real motives and real desires. It helps you respect them more and makes their personalities more realistic. That being said, Isayama is responsible for the story and everything in it. The themes, actions, messages, etc. Therefore he is responsible for destroying it, not Armin, and even admits that's what he's best at. Destroying things. Not to mention it is very telling that Armin/Isayama couldn't come up with something that would work other than the Rumbling, proving that Eren was acting with justified force.

Since true freedom is apparently found in the friendships they made along the way, AoT is not really that distinct after all from common shonen manga with this ending being the culmination of everything.

Real talk though I think Isayama started dealing with writers block at some point it happens to the best of creatives but instead just taking a break telling his publishers "Hey I'm having a hard time coming up with things to continue this story. I need time to reflect." He decided to continue anyway probably trying not to "disadvantage others"
You know the mindset that goes with Japanese work culture. Probably thinking if he took a break fans would be upset and it'd slow down the progress of the animation studio. Not thinking that taking a break and getting over the writers block is what would be best for the fans and the story in the long run. Of course money plays a role too with the sequel mess.
But even still if he had just took his time & looked at what he wrote and thought of how to move the plot in a way that could make sense with what was already written he could've even done a sequel in a way that made sense or felt better then what we got.

Here's something kind of disgusting about the final arc. Yams is saying through the story that "RUMBLING BAD!", but he presented no real solution to save Paradis besides a full-blown Rumbling. What the FUCK was Eren supposed to do?!
I'm not saying the Rumbling is right, but this sends some fucking horrible implications. It's saying that a nation at risk of genocide should sit there and take it in the ass (which they did in the final panels), and the hateful majority is more important than the minority. Freedom my ass!

Many authors need to realize that their characters are not sentient beings. They're made-up and they can only think as far as you can. It's not Eren's responsibility to think of a solution. It's your responsibility, Iseyama. You're the author. You're the one with an existing functioning brain. Not your imaginary character. Your character is a figment of your imagination. Your character is a thought -- an idea. Don't expect your ideas to literally think for themselves. They can't.

I´m talking from experience, having a dissociation episode is not funny, everything feels unreal and you sort of move in automatic. If he has different personalities or seems himself like in third person, he should really seek help I´m talking seriously. It feels like there´s two Isayamas. Pre chapter 137 and post chapter 137. If he sees his characters as having "real personalities" , he must seek help. It might be a misstranslation, I hope... oO, this feels weird af, I´m not even mad anymore.
