Why is it that someone else's supplies seem so much more interesting than your own? Nice inspiration to begin organizing, at the very least. TFS the inspiration!

Was nice to see a fellow crafter with a small space decluttering. I find that I need to keep like supplies together always - all my markers and inks together, ribbons together, etc.
Hmmm, maybe you can challenge yourself to make a journal or two using only your beautiful ready made items to help pear down your stash? Yes, would love to watch more decluttering - gives us inspiration to work on our own spaces with you! :)

Lol- typical hoarder moves- “I never use these… I’ll keep them for now…”
“These don’t really belong here, but they fit, I can change it later…”
“I can figure that out later…”
“I’ve donated these before … but took them out of the donation bag…I never use them…”
Might I suggest trying the Kon Marie method: instead of trying to figure out “what to get rid of” (which can be incredibly difficult) come at it from a different angle: “do I LOVE this?”
When you’re on the fence- ask- “does this fit into my ideal picture of my studio?”

I find the difficulty in decluttering is the part of going through everything and re-remembering what I have and getting excited to use it again, but I only remember when I go through it all them I forget them again. Only way I remember them is when I go through everything and I only do that when I am decluttering. It’s annoying

Many of love to make the embellishments and have tons of them ourselves. As someone else commented, it would be nice to watch you assemble a journal using what you made already and how you pick out things in your stash to match. I rarely follow anyone like i did a few years ago since everyone started dedigning their own digi kits. On occasion I'll purchase one. I enjoy watching the process of they put them together.

Thanks for showing us that it is “ok” to get rid of things you’ve made or purchased, but know you won’t ever use - I have a hard time letting go of stuff! My things are stored on shelves in those beautiful boxes with printed images on them - the trouble is that I can’t see what is inside of the boxes, so I am constantly shuffling boxes around and then I get frustrated. I need to follow your lead and get to work on organizing my stuff!!! I would love to see more videos of you tackling the other sections of your Scrap Box.

When I clean and find something I haven't used but am not ready to let it go, I put a brightly colored note or tag on it and schedule a day for playing with the tagged items. Sometimes it's not until I use them and get dissatisfied with the outcome that they end up in the donate pile. It's not always a quick decision, but cleaning day is not always the decision day for certain items.

It's so satisfying to see the results of your organising/declutter.
I would use the wooden spools for narrow ribbon and lace, maybe twine or similar.
I don't have much craftsupply, it all fits in one Ikea Råskog rolling cart. I go through and declutter it every now and then, when it looks messy. I have a craft room where there is a printer and a cutting machine and I keep my sewing machine and toolbox there. I also keep some books and paperpads (aquarelle and scetchpads) that are not in use.
Results after declutter is always so satisfying.
Also it's a way for you to show what you have and how you keep it all. It is easy as a viewer to think crafter's on TH-cam have it all. This video is keeping it real.
I would enjoy more of this kind of videos.

Here's the trick: store like things together or store things based on how they are used. For example, I store all of my small tools in a small urn on my table top within reach of my left hand.Glue stick and tavky glue are at my right hand. I store all of my rubber stamp carving supplies together. fyi, Foam paint brushes are disposable and designed for one time use....

It is so satisfying to clean, organize and declutter things. I like to change things around, even my furniture, I rearrange my furniture every 3/4 months. My husband used to say "thank God we didn't know Helen Keller". Love watching your videos.

I purchased a shoe holder to hang on the back of craft room door and there I have my punches… all are easy to see and don’t take multiple spaces/drawers in my Craft room. I have a craft cabinet too and I’m constantly reorganizing it!

I love your craft space. I live in the UK in a shared house and I have a super small space. I hope to be able to return to my city one day and then I will create a nice space for my crafts. It occurs to me that with all the things you don't need, you could make a second-hand market so that people who don't have so many resources can buy nice things at a good price. A big hug for you Barbara.

Barbara, that glue with the really fine tip that you said always clogs, put a few drops of fingernail polish remover in it. It works like a charm. If your Inka gold wax ever dries out drop warm water in it. It's water based and rehydrate beautifully.

that's a great storage system! Yes it's hard to be creative when your supplies aren't organised. Its hard to categorise things sometimes and our spaces are never quite the right size and shape 🙈. I have wheely drawers to store punches and stuff out of sight but they're really messy right now 🙈. Glycerine is so handy! Pop a drop in your brush washing water to condition the bristles! I love your tins 😍😍😍. Yeah my lace scraps are in a bag in my baskets. Oh, scaps 🙈. I think organised is as good as throwing away lol. Tina made a journal just to use all her ready made ephemera. Yes I'm happy to watch more. You've inspired me to do some sorting, I'm going to be in a slump until I do it lol. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖

Oh my gosh Barbara! That was very difficult to watch. When you got to the ephemera pieces that you’d made. I was saying, oh! So cute!WAIT! Stop! How’d you make that? With every piece! I’ll have to rewatch on slow mo ten more times. Hahaha
I decided to organize my laces.
That turned into a complete room overhaul. I’ve been working on it for months. Nothing fancy. I had a mish mash of shelving units that I drug out and mounted 15 shelves, that match, from Home Depot. So much better! Almost done.
Love you, your art, and your videos! 💖

I got a scrapbox 10 years ago and love it! I never used the outer doors (the really shallow ones on the far left and right). EVERYONE organizes differently. For me, If I can't see it then I won't use it. It is the "out of sight, out of mind" mentality. That far right door would be great to store your completed art pieces/tags/pockets etc in those clear packages, or even better(for me) in plastic packing type bags. You can get them on amazon really cheap along with a box of pins. Separate them however makes sense to you and simply pin them onto the felt of that door. If you want to keep the minimal look of that door get a piece of fabric cut the size of the door and velcro the top to the door frame. It will keep your items hidden and will still close if you want to. If you use fabric similar to your wall color it helps it disappear!

@@49dragonflies Displaying my art has been a game-changer for me.
My crafting buddy was visiting [she lives across the country, we Skype Craft weekly but visit approx. annually] and one day while I was having a nap, she set up an art display.
Some from my deceased daughter, some that I made, some that we made together, and some of my "best" colouring pages. I was stunned.
Walking into my craft room always makes me smile when I see them. It ends up being something that also needs re-arranging and decluttering but is something I look forward to.
I recently realized I missed a piece of my daughter's artwork that I had taken down, so next re-arrange it will come back out.
Another display she did on her last visit was displaying some of my mixed media pieces. She and hubby got together during another nap of mine, and they hammered my mixed media art onto the walls.
I can really call myself an artist now because I have my own art up on the walls!
