There is something satisfying about watch you sort and organize. At the end of the video, showing what you are getting rid of, you say it's maybe not such a big pile. I think you are looking at it wrong. If you emptied out one of the bins, say the gesso bin, for a moment and tried to fit all of that pile in there, you couldn't. That is easily 2 bins worth; maybe more. That seems like a good days work. Congratulations to you. TFS

Sari silk end suggestion: a safety pin with a contrasting color scrap on it pinned to the end of the silk ribbon. Then when you tuck the safety pinned "flag" into the midst of the ribbon you'll see it easily to pull it out,

Jelious that you have this scrap box organizing unit. But $2500 is a lot. Really would love one!
When wrapping ribbon around paper or cardboard try cutting a small slit in the edge to slide the ribbon ends into. I got the idea from the slit on the top of thread spools that catch and contain the thread ends.

Good job. So many interesting paper items that I haven't seen here in the U.S. or estate sales. A bit jealous
I always feel a bit anxious when I watch people declutter 😂. Many years ago I got rid of almost all my jewellery making supplies (a hobby for over 10 years at the time) because I got pregnant and we needed the space and I would not have the time to ever be making and selling jewellery- or so I thought. Then, after a few years, my life suddenly changed a lot and I found myself missing my hobby so much and regretted getting rid of so many things. Thanks to some friends who gifted me lots of stuff because they knew my situation, I could rebuild my stash and enjoy my hobby again. I just became very cautious of what I wanted to buy and to only buy stuff I really liked. I don't make jewellery anymore these days, ( maybe one day I will again) but I will never ever get rid of things that easily again, also with my journaling and journal-making supplies. I don't have a lot of space either, just one build-in closet, and a small corner in the livingroom, but it holds all of my supplies for my hobbies, even some things that I wouldn't use now, because my style has changed over time. Many times before my style did change, and I suddenly wanted to use things again from years before. It's a process I think, I do admire your 'decluttering abilities', you're doing a great job Barbara!

Barbara what do you think about a challenge? Have you ever used the tiny decision or decision roulette wheel app? I challenge you to make a wheel listing your craft supply categories, where you spin and use an item in your closet from the chosen category. The makeup community and the cross stitch community use this to touch items that would otherwise stay forgotten with all the product in our stash ☺️ Now I'm off to organize 😘

I was wondering if you should label your bins once you’re completely organized… that way it will remind you of where things are so you can use them more???
To be honest l enjoy this type of video quite alot...it embarks a fancy in me to try decluttering! And its so relaxing to watch too.

When you uploaded the first part of this, I was one day away from getting my dream craft station installed. The timing was perfect. As I filled it, I thought about your experience of using yours and what you couldn't see you didn't use, so hopefully I have filled mine in a way that will work. So far so good. Thank you so much for all the advice. Also I don't think anyone in this community begrudges you for what you have accumulated and what you use to show us how to make beautiful ephemera and journals. I’ve had my Dreambox for 2 years now and have switched things out many times. It changes as I craft and see how I use things. Plus I’ve gotten tons more stuff in that time lol. Enjoy your box!!
Great job, I’m getting the creative studio boxes. I love them. What would you use the tablets in and how? I’ve got piles of them too, I’m stumped on best way to use them Oh and btw, I started reading “Night Circus” you read it last year , I’m not far but it’s intriguing so far

This is so hard for me to declutter. I know I don’t like it now but I also know that there may come a time when I do and/or it is the perfect choice. Great ideas.
Put a piece of washi or colored tape on end of silk ribbon to find end.

I live all your little tins, I too enjoy keeping and using little tins for for things. I am very much needing to clean out my craft area, not only is it looking like an episode of hoarders, but its so cluttered that it's just became a mess. These videos have inspired and motivated me to actually start doing it. I'd live to one day get one of the storage closets you have but for now I have to get creative with my storage space, your organizing methods have definitely given me a few ideas. Thank you for these videos and the much needed motivation. 💜

Hey Barbara. Fascinating to watch people sort and tidy. Regarding finding ends of threads and ribbons, you could put a safety pin with a charm on the end which would stop your silks from unraveling and help highlight the end.

I always like to see how other people organize. My biggest problem area was to buy something because it was cute instead of asking myself "will you use it?". Thanks for the inspiration to look at my supplies and donate what I know I won't use.

I just cut a slit on the card to put the end of the sari silk through to hold it. Thank you so much Barbara. There are always great ideas from videos like this. Ive forgotten about “does it bring you joy”? I can think of several things right now that I keep but are a pain in the butt. Time they go.

I am not that proficient in German and Englisg is my second language, but I think that alt Rosa pink colour might be dusty rose in English, and if so, I agree, that is one of the most beautiful pinks

It was so interesting watching you get rid of some things and keep others. In my experience, I see something and think I’ll never use that again. So I get rid of it. Then the next week, I start a new project and need at least one of the things I got rid of. I’m sure it’s because I just saw that item and I think of ways it could have been used. Someone is going to see your items at good will and go home super happy. You could have given your pink things to Luise. Lol. Maybe she has a new appreciation for pink. Kidding. Thank you for another organize video. A tip for the ribbon - you could put a paper clip to the end. Even fasten the paper clip to the card board.

Another great organizing video. All crafters know things accumulate over years of crafting I don’t know anyone who can buy everything at once. I’m amazed how well organized you are. I need another scrap box. The problem I have is I sell journals so I can’t keep only “my style” for some reason people like other styles. thank-you for the great tips. I really enjoyed this video. Its also really nice to see that there are other crafters who don't have a whole room to craft in. I also have my craft supplies/table in my living room so have limited space. OMG Barbara I'm two days late and feel like I've neglected you 😭 I'm sorry lol.I literally have my lace, ribbon and trims out to sort and it's the first thing I see when I pressed play 😄.You have a lot more! I usually do everything in January. It's so much nicer seeing tidy storage. Yes I use pins too. Oh misc is my least favourite🙈. Oh I've just bought some tatoos for a project! You've earned everything you have and more. We appreciate every second and don't mind the ads at all. Oh I use quilting clips for things like your sari silk, in a different colour so I can see easily! They're cheap and come in a mixed colour pack. 🙊 toast it notes 🙊. Well done 👏and thanks for the encouragement😁. Hopefully I can get back to my January routine next year without pesky hospital stuff! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

The pink you like, old pink I call ashes of roses. It's an old fashioned Victorian name. The baby pink bits reminded me of Girl on the Ridge who used this pink with grungy papers and lace to good effec in her journals. Her husband recently passed away and she has bravely continued creating and making her videos. I love your creativity and style and I am glad you have what you need and desire to create in the heartful, giving way that you do.❤❤❤

Just to say, you should be so pleased with yourself for being so "ruthless". What also helped me to organise my ribbons was to group all the same ribbons together, that meant I didn't say to myself "i running out buy more" when I had another rolls hiding in the draw! Also i gifted some crafting supplies to "like minded crafters" but then bundled everything into small bags, and sold them and the money i donated to charity. Keep going and you'll feel so much better and not overwhelmed!

To find the ends - use a baby safety pin with a bright little bity cloth scrap. Love your decision making!

Thank you for more de clutter inspiration 🤗 I have learned to keep a little bit of any ribbons, laces and trims etc when I have a clear out because I usually find I go back searching for it eventually 🙄 and then I get annoyed with myself if I have to repurchase.

Your being very good in getting rid of the things you know you won’t use. I’m going to start going through my things and getting rid of the things I use but have in excess. It takes a small 9x10 bedroom to hold my craft supplies, shelves, desk…etc. I only make journals as gifts. I do not sell any. I feel like I need to downsize so I can use the room as a guest room too.
