Amazing! I absolutely love the standard that Ian Hubert has set for Blender tutorials these days! You made this in just as fine quality, this is SO good!
Tho you are not really a big channel you've earn my respect Man Ian Hubert is really making an impact in the blender community We need more tutorials in this fashion and you are part of the movement Respect
i clicked on this, and i will tell you the last thing i expected to hear at 5:00 in the morning was "ITS WEINER TIME!!!" at max volume. luckily i found this fairly quickly instead of... yeah
Hi this is an awesome idea. Do you have tutorials on how to do this in Blender 3.4+? Also what would I need to export these simulations/animations into a game engine?
This works great but is extremely ressource intensive for high subdivision meshes even with high end specs. Do you think something similar might be done with geometry nodes in a more efficient way?
How would you do this with pre-made wrinkle maps in the form of normal maps? As in, where the forehead and the eyelid corner wrinkles are both in the same texture? I'm trying to figure out how to use the vertex colors to individually mask out the eyelids or forehead at will.
As long as you have a normal map with said wrinkles, yes you only have to mix it with the wrinkle map like in the video to get the result you’re after. The wrinkle map only defines areas of stretch and compression that relates to the intensity of your normal map.
If you want to mask out areas, create a texture with white in the areas you want to keep and black everywhere else and just multiply it with different inputs for the normal.
When using Ctrl+B to bevel, it's still not coming out correctly, which messes up the mesh when adding Simple Deform modifier. Can anyone help? The ends of the hot dog keep coming out pointy after adding the modifier, and the top and bottom beforehand is really flat, even after adding loop cuts and many subdivisions to the bevel.
Hey, nice tutorial! :) When copying the object, the wrinkle-texture is no longer working properly. Does anybody know how to fix that issue? thanks in advance
I learned a LOT from your 2 minutes and ten seconds of rapid fire tutorial, but I have to ask. Is there any reason you didn't use the Vertex color node? From what I saw it is just the same as the attribute node when it comes to the color output, but instead of copying the tension_map text into the node you can just click it with the tension map being one of the the options. If there is something wrong with it I'd love to know, if not, I hope it helps others with a slightly faster workflow because if you have to do this to a few areas/models/things at a time the copy pasting will quickly drain your time. Further note! I tried this on blender 3.1 and it works... mostly well. I've not tried it on a geo nodded object but everything else that it should work with it does... I think. Being new to blender with only a little over a year experience does hamper my aiding others.
why are you in such a hurry, we're here because we want to know more about this thing and there are 0 other tutorials about this addon. slow down a bit
He’s really influential in the blender community. He makes CRAZY incredible VFX short films in blender, and also does a lot of 1 minute tutorials (this tut is in his style) that can apply to anyone just getting into blender.
@@kextnext I can use the layers in zbrush for create the details on the (high poly) but I have no Idea how to get a normal from it Otherwise I have seen a page in google he said he get them using Marmoset 3 And until now I have no idea 😂
Haha gotcha. I think you actually can bake normal maps in blender? I’ve done it before but I don’t remember exactly how. There’s a bake setting in the render tab if you want to experiment
CGMatter + Ian Hubert, this is epic
that's all i needed 😂😂
accurate.

This is the next Ian Hubert.
Yes agreed
How can he talks just like Ian :/

Woah woah woah!! Slow down there Tex. How the H did you bevel the end to make a perfect dome cap?????????????
Haha I just discovered your channel and I'm loving these videos!
I learned more on TH-cam in 2 minutes than in 10 years at school...🙂
The legacy of Ian Hubert continues...
where's the addon link

Yeah bad normals made a video about it I think. This was made before geo nodes existed, so that’s prob a better way!
Very Phallic!

Is there a way to replicate this with static objects (non animated) that are already made? For Instance Cushions or bags?

0:49 that timeline is cursed for those who start animation on zero and finish on the last keyframe.
Amazing tutorial, thanks a lot!
Thanks....got any more crank?
at first I though you talk too fast but then I am thankful for you cramming this much info into 2 minutes!
i like tutorial like this. pls keep making tutorial video
Thanks
OMG! I've got to try this. Thanks a lot :)
is this an add-on for tension maps? Can't seem to find it in Blender 3.1
It is, it might not have been updated since geometry nodes have come out. You can pretty much recreate it in them!
When using Ctrl+B to bevel, it's still not coming out correctly, which messes up the mesh when adding Simple Deform modifier. Can anyone help? Haha! Love it!
great stuff, subbed

When you copy the object, a tab pops up at the bottom with the header "Duplicate Objects". Open it and check the box titled "Linked".
Tension Maps? Is that a plug-in?
this man is so fast

HAHAHA That was awesome!
GLIZZY

Who’s that
i'm here to setup another hotdog...
2.92 doesn't have tension Maps
You need to download an add-on mentioned in the video before this one. I don't know why he didn't mention it in this video.
@@generalshrooms thank you! I will review

Btw , This is for render only right ?
Not for game use like wrinkles map (Tensions maps) inside UE4.
Yeah, sadly. I’m sure you could find a way to output a mask type thing from it though 🤔
