To have a better understanding of the quality of an animation, we need to know what the actual product looks like. I assume this game-toy does not exist in reality. Now, if we look at the last two animations, those of Zee and Kaizen, which are the best, we notice a key difference. Zee’s animation shows the product as more white and with a plastic texture, while Kaizen’s animation shows it as darker and with a more metallic texture. We consider the more successful animation to be the one that closely resembles the actual product, aiming for photorealism. P.S. 0:48 - 0:52 is totally fail !
I liked your take, it was very smooth but there was a small jump at 8:39 with the switch, i think it should have been aligned so the transition between two shots feel smoother.
The biggest issue I see with the camera movements is not setting them to follow a curve. This gives those unnatural straight motions when we subconsciously know it should be moving in an arc. Zee knew what he was doing in that regard for sure, but I do really like that second one's transitions as well.
RuneScape music while working! I love it! I once put on Terraria OST while doing yard work :) Also I like how you put a lot of attention on storyboarding. I've learnt how incredibly vital and great it really is to do that, it has made some of my works easier to make and manage. Sharing the storyboard with the client for approval is also better than having made even just a demo animation, it's gonna save time and nerve. This is something a lot of 3D artists should definitely know. Especially ones doing any sort of animation What was new to me was the music part, syncing up to an existing music is something I wouldn't have come up so this is solid advice. Overall, I didn't expect to learn anything at first, I thought it was going to simply be an entertainment video, but I'm glad to have seen it now! Keep it up, Kaizen!
I think storyboarding, scripting and locking things in with clients, before diving in deep, is one of the biggest mistakes and overlooked things freelancers do. Doing this properly can save you so much time, back and forth and unhappy clients which in the end makes your life easier and you make more on non-hourly projects!
I love your animation! It’s incredible, so well-crafted! I’ve been following your course on CG Cookie for the Pokemon ball, and I’m still working on the animation, but it’s already looking fantastic!
I don’t like seeing animation work being done for so little money. I feel like this type of works, give clients the wrong impression that the work is meaningless and can be done in no time by dirt cheap. In the long run this is terrible for the industry.
Pretty cool and informal video, but it’s kinda sad to see Fiverr pushing people to undercut their prices like that. CHF 150 should be an hourly rate, not the budget for an entire project. Criticizing the artists for a lack of quality and innovation feels a bit misguided when the budget is so low. Sure, there’s plenty that could be improved in the animations, but honestly, with that kind of budget, you can’t expect much. This isn’t about hating on anyone-just a reminder that designers should feel encouraged to charge industry-appropriate rates. It benefits all of us in the long run.
I agree that these rates are incredibly low, although in certain countries, like the ones the fiverr artists are from this is good money. It's unfair, but that's what the digital world does to these kinds of jobs!
i would really appreciate your hot take on how to find good music for your projects or hire sound mixer guy? Also of all the videos you shown, i think your video could have been also much better given your skillset and i follow your work regularly but i think it maybe because you are busy in multiple projects, for instance the background was off in a sense that you see white circles on screen with light but great work overall, thanks for the notes appreciate it as always!
Thanks for the kind words! In terms of music I usually use Epidemic sound, or you can find some awesome sounds on premium beat. SFX are from Epidemic too. As for the quality; yeah i couldve put in much more work and make this a lot more awesome. The quality of the render itself (white circles) is just a compression issue with banding.
you don't want to make a competition so that anyone can make a similar product presentation video, and then upload it somewhere and you would choose which one you like the most
Love Zee's Version the most, some movements are very disorienting though. Making sure the movement translates is important but also where the viewer is focusing between cuts, so the eye doesn't have to jump around. I think your version is on a technical level the best, but I think the gradients are too soft and create quite noticeable banding. Also placing them behind the object at the start, disconnects the realism of the shot as the gradient should create some kind of rimlight even around the dark areas of the product.
The first two guys also need to work on creating some basic camera rigs I think, because their camera often orbits around a strange point (at least to me) and that point also doesn't move with the rest of the animation. If you have an Empty that you rotate, with the camera parented to it, you'll get a much more precise motion for the camera and you can control the exact centre easily.
This was a great video. Every animation was awesome, but both you and zee absolutely knocked It out of the park! But $167.00!? It is sad to see so many amazing artists underselling their work on fiver.
Agreed Zee could definitely ask for more and should do so! That said; 167 goes a long way in Singapore, compared to the States for example... it's unfair but that's also how global economies like 3D work.
@ Ah, I did not realize he was from Singapore! That amount of money is a little more reasonable then. Even so, with his level of work he can be charging more.
can we talk about "color banding" and how it makes everything look low quality even if the animation is good? for example, do you see that gradient background at 8:35 and notice how bad it looks? how to fix that? every animation has that and im pretty sure those videos were composed in after effects, maybe?
Ah yeah that's just a result of the exporting of files. If I rendered the frames as TIFF's which are lossless, or EXR's which are probably even better and then rendered these out there would be significantly less banding. It's just a result of conversion to MP4 from PNG's and lower quality renders.
This is what constructive criticism is for. I do agree it having the least quality, but this is where the artist can learn and improve, in the future they will be making greater works.

Its the age old discussion. Unless you are really lucky these services and outsourcing of craft in tech goes often only well for prototypes and one-offs. In the end with a continuous project and product cycles, consistency in code/design and the bonus: involvement of the artist/developer these services cant deliver in a way a stakeholder or team lead requires. I started my career in design and web development 20 years ago and colleagues were scared of outsourced code in Georgia or India. But even today in 2025 i always get the backing to build local and involved teams on which you can rely on a day to day basis. If Kaizen would have been a Fiverr artist like the rest in the video, then considering the processes, knowledge and obviously the final outcome it would have been definitely over 300
I think I spent about 15 hours in total on this setup, mostly tweaking lighting and camera motion. On an actual paid gig I would've spent more, investing more in unique setups, more dynamic camera work and better lighting setups with more additional elements (like for example Zee's cables). On average I'd ask for around 3-5K USD for such an animation.
it kinda depends. Having mroe VRAM is always a really great thing if you work with lots of textures and high res models. But if you don't and purely want speed, then the 4060 is probably best.
nr. 3 is the best in motion. but none of the videos are triggering enough to actually buy the product. the Dieter Rams colors and design we've seen too much.
Well you're lucky that you got this level of work at this low budget. And to the fiverr artists, this is how you ruin the market. Charging lower and lower everyday for the kind of work that needs planning, effort, aesthetic and creative eyes. My take is that these fiverr artists are just ruining their own work sector. And for the purpose of delivering fast work for cheap price, they also don't really follow a proper process and blocks or slows down their creative growth as well.
I think, although I agree with what you're saying to a degree, it's also part of the landscape and the global economy surrounding 3D. If you do great work though you can find work no matter your rates.
I mean, all 3 animations are bad, none of them feel nice. I don't see much purpose in super low budget work like this, other then specifically only doing it for yt content.
I think the last animation is great, especially for that kind of money. The 1st two need a lot of work, but for a very simple animation they're not too shabby of a starting point.
@@KaizenTutorials Don't get me wrong, animations worth the money. It's just that if you order an animation, you usually want a certain style and goal, it doesn't matter how much money animation is worth if it's just not what you'd use

Some people say what they feel which they have the right to do, but it isn't quite right from a judgmental standpoint. These people seem to be somewhat new to the field anyways which makes sense as more experienced artists respond different. Basically give these people some time.
@KaizenTutorials I just said to Ayoub work more and hard to achieve more and good luck, basically I said it in Algerian dialect cuz I'm from Algeria too
@TheSilentRaven It's fine for modeling, but it's the final render that will get you. There's no GPU acceleration with the Intel Macs. I recently did the infamous donut tutorial and it took almost 4 days running CPU only to render a 6 second animation (160 images).
Nice video, I really like that you show the little storyboard workflow! And damn that you can cut in blender with the different cameras, blew my mind, thanks for that Information 🫶🏽
The fact that you think your video is acceptable for any client in 2025 is ludicrous. Let alone the prices. And in the big scheme of things platforms like fiverr that take advantage of everyone. The saddest part of all of this is the people following you will probably think that your advices are solid.
I think it comes down to personal taste. I see you do some awesome, creative, work. And if that's what the client is looking for; is perfect. As I said in the video my result is a very generic animation, which can work just fine for tons of clients. Is it going to insanely wow people? Probably not. But it looks good and visualizes the product. As for the prices; yeah Fiverr artists are cheap sometimes, but then again this often reflects in the result. It's less custom, less professional and so on. The people looking for these types of animations would never pay for a great 3D artist like yourself to make a cool animation for 5-10K for example. It's just different markets with different goals.
@ depends on what standard you are comparing it too. Maybe if Zee got more time he would have done better. Regardless the time I think even Zee’s animation could have been executed better it all looked really stiff and choppy/ un-smooth?
Glad to see we're charging into 2025 with gender-neutral pronouns! I thought those had *finally* fallen out of fashion this year. Ah, mebbe I'm gettin' too old...
Here's the second kind of people, half of them say it's not expensive, and you say it's a lot for this. The only difference is that they are actually doing something, even if they are not working at full capacity. As someone who used to work on Fiverr, I can agree that the mentality of people there is quite strange, and people want results for $15, like people with a $100 budget.
@goldman_ya I doubt you can do better. Real pros would with 300 hours or more would never charge $20, even for work as flawed as these. Maybe the 300 hours you spent was just moving the mouse around and staring blankly at the screen.

Yeah it's super low. But do take into consideration income disparity across the globe. For some countries 160 is a lotta money!
I didn’t know people payed more than 100 for these
As a VFX artist for films and music videos
This feels like a side hustle
I think you can ask for much more if you deliver on that ask, easily turning this into a main income source.
How much would’ve you charged for that? And how long would’ve it taken you?
If Kaizen would have been a Fiverr artist like the rest in the video, then considering the processes, knowledge and obviously the final outcome it would have been definitely over 300
I think I spent about 15 hours in total on this setup, mostly tweaking lighting and camera motion. On an actual paid gig I would've spent more, investing more in unique setups, more dynamic camera work and better lighting setups with more additional elements (like for example Zee's cables). On average I'd ask for around 3-5K USD for such an animation.
@@KaizenTutorials thanks for answering mate! 5k is wild, in Latin America that would be probably impossible to get.
num 2 is the best
You think so? Ok!
Hey dud can you gimme some advice
which on shall i go with rtx3060 12g or rtx 4060 8 on 3d products animation and cgi
it kinda depends. Having mroe VRAM is always a really great thing if you work with lots of textures and high res models. But if you don't and purely want speed, then the 4060 is probably best.
Video 1 of Ayyoub is amazing
8:35 there are some shading issues and 8:37 also. That kind of money, it needs to be perfect. Animations are pretty cool.
Oh yeah the model is far from perfect haha. Should definitely get a better one for a real pro animation!
lol
@@Matt.visualz nothing to laugh here donut
I have a crush on your work
Thanks!
Damn man I was going to launch my fiverr gig hoping to be in one of those videos Hope you do another Part ❤
Maybe!
Hey Kaizen! How much would you charge for your animation?
I think in it's current version around $3k. But I would've gone harder on it if it was an actual client gig and probably asked around $5K for it.
Do this more ❤love it
Thanks!
nr. 3 is the best in motion. but none of the videos are triggering enough to actually buy the product. the Dieter Rams colors and design we've seen too much.
HMm ok thanks for the input
Awesome video keep it up 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!
Wonderful video, Your Animation looked way better though
Thank you!
great explanations
Thanks!
What about your finished project files?
You want those? I an make them available on the Patreon.
Nahh bro this is too good I can definitely tell why your work is insane 😮
And that noise added like a texture so it was nice 😂
Thanks a ton!
Whats the reference website you use on 9:07 ?
That's Pinterest!
Thanks man! Nice job btw, i see why most of my friends recommended me your channel for 3d work, so kind of you to reply @@KaizenTutorials
The prices for these animations are uuuuber low
Yeah they are kinda low, but I thought it was good to show what you can get at that range!
Where my bezier curve at 🗣️
linear all the way baby
Very Insightful video.
I like these kinds of videos. Great stuff.
Thanks!
Hey kaizen can you provide the 3D model it would be amazing to see ur subscribes create different animations
I did do that! Theres a link in the description and a QR code in the video.
@@KaizenTutorials Oh Thanks and keep up the amazing work

Would you share project files in patreon or gumroad?
The files are downloadable through a simple link, but I can also share them through Patreon if you want.
Just send me the model to get u a next level animation 🔥🔥🤩
You can download it through the link in the description! ;-)
I mean, all 3 animations are bad, none of them feel nice. I don't see much purpose in super low budget work like this, other then specifically only doing it for yt content.
Considering the amount and time, I feel like it's reasonable
I think the last animation is great, especially for that kind of money. The 1st two need a lot of work, but for a very simple animation they're not too shabby of a starting point.
@@KaizenTutorials Don't get me wrong, animations worth the money. It's just that if you order an animation, you usually want a certain style and goal, it doesn't matter how much money animation is worth if it's just not what you'd use
160 for such a bad animation? I need to create a fiver account
you should yeah
can you give me the model i want to try myself

hey kaizen whats wrong with some people in the comments soo rude
thats the internet for ya
@@KaizenTutorials I also do 3D animations, and my work is at a level similar to Zee's. However, it's really hard to find clients. Things just feel frustrating and depressing. I've been doing 3D for about 3 years
Some people say what they feel which they have the right to do, but it isn't quite right from a judgmental standpoint.
These people seem to be somewhat new to the field anyways which makes sense as more experienced artists respond different.
Basically give these people some time.
Ayoub zayr rohek Akhi w raby yef9ek
what does that mean?
@KaizenTutorials I just said to Ayoub work more and hard to achieve more and good luck, basically I said it in Algerian dialect cuz I'm from Algeria too
Hey I was wondering how good is blender on a Intel Mac
With no mouse
get a mouse with a scroll wheel
no mouse = ultra hardmode
@@KaizenTutorials ok but is the last intel macbook pro ok for blender
@TheSilentRaven It's fine for modeling, but it's the final render that will get you. There's no GPU acceleration with the Intel Macs. I recently did the infamous donut tutorial and it took almost 4 days running CPU only to render a 6 second animation (160 images).
@andrewguitarnoob8440 thanks ;D
Nice video, I really like that you show the little storyboard workflow!
And damn that you can cut in blender with the different cameras, blew my mind, thanks for that Information 🫶🏽
Thank you! Glad I could showcase some new stuff. :-)
Parece ser que estos Diseñadore de Movimiento se les olvido el Sound Design 😄
wel yeah but I also didnt ask them for it ;-)
The fact that you think your video is acceptable for any client in 2025 is ludicrous.
It's just different markets with different goals.
... and you charged??? 😉 Love the video! Love and agree with your breakdown of what makes a good product video! 👏👏👏
Haha I charged myself ALL the money!
Judging based on your personal horizon...
Dont we all?
Linear and bad executed for the money…?
Àgreed some could have been better! But I think Zee's animation is really quite good.
Yeah well, I'd rather not offend anyone :-)
@@KaizenTutorials I feel ya...waiting for the madness to subside over here...

@@KaizenTutorials oh hello kaizen your tutorials are so useful thank you
1:30 really that's what you get for 160$? I have 300 hours in blender and still can do better for 20$
my thoughts exactly!
Well then i'd say sign up to fiverr, charge more than that and start making some $$!
@goldman_ya
I doubt you can do better. Real pros would with 300 hours or more would never charge $20, even for work as flawed as these.
Maybe the 300 hours you spent was just moving the mouse around and staring blankly at the screen.
@@blaximperia trying to be sure my work is good enough before starting to ask money for it, gonna finish some projects and then maybe sign up on fiver. And 300 hours isn't really anything, i still don't know how to properly use constraints, compositor and much more
Definitely, yours is best for me
Thanks!
