I got stuck using my son's gaming microphone for this review and unfortunately it clipped off the beginning of some sentences. Especially those with "Ssss" sounds. How bizarre.

Man, I'm just amazed at how well that box was animated, and i haven't even seen the rest of the video yet haha
Ha, ha! Normally I'll animate boxes when they are empty so that they are lighter and easier to animate. This box had a window, so I didn't cheat it. It went well. A box animation and opening is a good warm up exercise for me. Something fun to do with minimal mental effort. Not every box gets an animated treatment.

You mean Mirage was a stowaway aboard the Ark 4 million years ago! And then he snuck aboard a Decepticon space cruiser to prevent them leaving Earth for Cybertron in 1984, he is such a sneaky fellow!
Mirage is sneaky, however Liger would be even more cautious and stayed hidden the whole time.

Great video. I really enjoy your animation. Been a while since I saw new content. Was very happy to see it was a full review. I laughed pretty good as the "french" accent reading the bio...lol. I have this figure because I loved the original Sphinx Mold. I actually bought 2 of the adapters for this mold as I had Sphix and Liger in my collection and knew about the headache of connecting the missile launcher. I've debated on also getting the TE Mirage offering as it can be had for a pretty inexpensive price. Fanstoys announced they were making one as well, so I am going to get that one instead. I had no idea that this guy was now selling for so much. I also have the TFCon Mid-Disappearing version. I wanted the All clear version myself, but I hear that was a very special custom that A3Ureview made which gave them the idea IIRC. I have the all clear Binaltech Mirage. I feel that all clear is only good for special versions such as a Ghost Starscream or Mirage. Given the fragility of clear plastic, I don't really recommend it, but when it fits the characters lore from the show. I did recently get a KO MP52 Starscream that was all clear mostly because it was $55 shipped, but to also hold that updated Ghost Starscream mold look over the original one. I look forward to more videos!

It's amazing that they can do it, but cartoon accuracy shouldn't be the be all and and all to transformers toys.
@@CardboardBots Exactly! I really LIKED the rivets and working pistons and spring-loaded shocks and die-cast and realistic alt-modes of the older MP figures. Now, they seem to just be a bunch of glossy smooth kibble-flaps for twice the price.

Guess it's fitting that the all-invisible version of this mould is the most elusive. Its also probably only a matter of time before we get a red recolour of the kingdom Mirage.

I think a red Kingdom Mirage from Hasbro is inevitable.

So I remember a toy like this but was different in its transformation. It was a robot that turns into a race car like that one but, the body of the vehicle mode was one piece. To reveal the robot you’d lift off the body and it’d reveal the robot underneath with the body folded up to fit between the chassis and the body. When unfolded it could use the chassis as a skateboard and the body as a shield. Am I the only one who remembers this?
Very good review! I love your videos! If this figure was cheaper on the aftermarket id definitely go for it. Sadly he's very expensive on there.
The mold rocks. I think it still holds up but I was interested in other things. It felt good to say good bye to it with a video.
I need him. This transformation and overall look is amazing. The engineering is amazing. This video and animation is amazing as well.
Thanks. He'll be hard to acquire. You can still get reissues of PS-01c Sphinx (who is blue) easily enough.
Also the engineering on TE Speedster is supposed to be very good, and Fans Toys are coming out with their Mirage too.

That is actually pronounced Lye-Ger. The French word Ligier is the name of the Formula One car that Mirage is based on.....the Ligier JS-11 competed in Formula One in 1979 and 1980.
You will not be disappointed with TE Speedstar, my choice for sure! Granted not as many accessories but the rocket launcher is engineered into the transformation.
I haven't pulled the trigger on him yet. Probably soon.

I didn't keep track for this one. The animation was completed over 3 or days. Research and editing and post production took much longer.
I bought the cell version of mmc mirage at a toy shop for 70$ but it came with the parachute and alternative back head plate the normal one had and figure had several loose parts. I don't know if there's a KO out there or if a collector got their figures swapped, but its a good figure never the less.
I don't think it was a KO. I heard that they might have reissued the parachute with a reissue of ps02c without the decals.
Glad I grabbed this if it's actually worth something now.
It seems to have have more than tripled it's value.

The Armorhides are easy enough to hunt down. Even without the extra pieces, its a fun toy

Sucks that neither MMC nor Transform Element bothered to do a Crasher repaint, and FansToys probably won't do it, either. That makes DX9's a pretty expensive piece...maybe not like MMC's red Mirage, but yeah...😞😞😞

You should try and review a Delta Magnus/Diaclone Ultra Magnus. Like the official MP-31 or the new SG ultra magnus which also doubles as Delta Magnus, if you want 3p option there's KFC Dia Stack, Newage H28G Lucullu, or the Fansproject Dia Commander kit for Classics Optimus.

That G1 Mirage is broken at the waist? Reminds me of the time I came across a second-hand Mirage in a collectibles store. I was excited by this, liking the toy and knowing about the infamous loss of the original mould, but then discovered it had been glued back at the waist in a way that made transformation difficult, if not impossible, and changed my mind about buying that specimen.
I wish Transformers would get around to reverse engineering the G1 toy and re-issuing it. If other companies can, then surely they can to...
they're gonna charge 50 bucks for them like the BW reissues lol
I'm usually pretty frugal, but I'll admit I'd jump on that particular hype train.
All g1 Mirage toys suffer from a delicate waist because the thin plastic waist joint.
I'm sure that takara must redo the molds for some reissues. If KO companies do it, they certainly can.
@@hellafraid6555 our Walmart had seven copies of the beast wars Optimus Primal reissue on clearance for $20 or $30 Canadian.

The weak waist joint is a pity. Other toys, like Bluestreak, likewise had the clever hip swivel transformation, but I'm not aware of them splitting in two like that.

I still think it's a good toy even if it is older. I don't think I fully enjoyed it till I decided to let it go.
