I love the history of figures like this... When he dropped he was mildly popular but shelfwarmed for years at etailers. Then when WFC started people started pointing out his was perfect with Soundwave and then he became impossible to find.
I remember Vangelus' review of Troll making me really want that figure. I didn't even want the full Terrorcon/Abominus set, just Troll/Blot. The exact same thing happened with the Power Or The Primes Blot I've not bought either figure though as i have too much Gundam stuff to get.
Maybe the add-on armour was to make him look different for marketing, so it wouldn't run afoul of Takara or Hasbro. It was early on in 3P history and they were more timid back then.
I'm pretty sure the panels behind his knees fold 180 degrees against the panel it attaches to and sits beside the knee instead of behind it. Optibotimus does it in his review
I have this figure, and I completely forgot about those accessories. As soon as you brought them up, I had an 'Oh yeah... those existed' moment. Also, I do wonder if, were they to do a new Drift figure, would it be as good. The ability to remove and holster the smaller swords was quite nice, a gimmick that came after the first unofficial Third Party figure that wasn't considered an Add-on, Fansproject Defender, their homage figure for Springer, was able to remove and holster his pistols.
That gun cassette makes so much sense! why have they never done that for soundwave or blaster before. I think i want that more then the figure for the upcoming kingdom blaster.
I absolutely love your channel. I love your take, stop motion, and the actual show off of the figure. I’ve just re got into transformers after years of it laying dormant in the depths of my mind. I’m so in love with these newer figures. It’s completely brought out the kid in me. I really can’t wait to get my hands on Blaster.
Someone probably said this before, but the kingdom blaster doesn't have fake parts, it's speakers spin around to make it look better, you don't even have to do that for it to transform
Looking at the hinges; i think those leg panels fully fold onto themselves, so they're folded up BESIDE Blaster's knees instead of covering the back of it.
I'll be buying the new Blaster, but I plan to keep UT Soundmixer on hand also, to have two Blasters on display. It's too good a figure to just up and get rid of.

Finally someone talks about this weird shoulder assembly. I've seen it on a few figures too (Siege Sixgun, Earthrise Fasttrack, Studio Hot Rod) and I don't like it. It seemed weird to me that I was the only one to feel this way, but apparently I'm not.
haha I notice whenever they do it, I just don't talk about it much. but yeah it makes for really wonky looking animations whenever I start getting wild with the arms
Mega steel Buster came out around the same time. Not any better, but there was another option at the time. Neither got any love. They came out right as 3p was jumping shark and all going MP scale, what with Hasbro going all combiner wars to go after the 3p companies doing combiners and all.
Yeah, the rifle is a very clever decision and id like more blasters (or even soundwaves) made this, but there are some gripes i have about this that make me want the kingdom blaster more, for example i really dislike the head, the posseabillity seems pretty hindered, i do so have for kingdom blaster like the hollow arms but i don't mind that hollowness because of he actually can touch his button to open his window and eject (i hate eject) but in the end i think i'll stick to the kingdom one
While that figure is cool i saw the new one and the new ones features i kinda think imma get the new one bc it might be easier to get like look at the wfc one with 86 percepter and yea i see what they went with it

A more obscured (and mostly deceased) 3rd party company by the name of mega steel made THEIR own take of a blaster figure meant to fit in with your uniclasserations figures at the time labeled: ‘Mega Steel MS-03 Buster’. A figure that came out around the same time as unique toys’ take on the character. And lemme tell you ya, is don’t looks great…

This is the blaster I got years ago and had for my takara mp3 soundwaves. Since that soundwave could be purchased as the classic blue, the black soundblaster or an ipod white similar to shattered glass, it was unfortunate this blaster didn't also get the twincast and shattered glass variants. I think this was the figure that would always be in the background to 'drop that beat' during breauxman's TF reviews, before he deleted them all from his channel. 😔
Can't even get one of these, man. I mean, I'm happy for you that you have an excuse not to buy a Blaster, but this figure is simply not available to anybody that doesn't have one already.

I feel like that little leg flap at the back that covers up the joint is supposed to fold into itself instead of hanging there so you can properly use the knee bend
That's indeed how it's supposed to be. I've got this figure myself and it doesn't feel like you're stressing anything and allows for unhindered knee bend.
This figure looks really nice, but I'm definitly in the "it looks a little over-greebled" camp, a complaint I've had with a lot of the WFC figures to be honest. I'm hoping there's a 3rd party upgrade kit, or a GenSelects variant, for Kingdom Blaster that gives him his Marvel head, because Marvel Blaster >>>>> Cartoon Blaster.

Unique Toys, to me, really was an unsung hero in third party. Troll, their version of Blot, is still one of my all time favorite transformer toys.

It’s really good, I recently sold mine but it was a fantastic figure and it scaled perfectly with CHUG.

Yeah, the posing is not as good with this kind of shoulders than with regular ones.

I am a fan of the rifle, especially the scope being rectangular.
