There's pretty hefty discounts on m240i's and m140i's. Around the 20-22% mark. The m140i seems to sell pretty well which i think could favour the m240i's residuals
Auto trader needs to do more with these dodgy advertising. As you said in the video it states private and when checking the advert again its trade. I know someone who is a BMW sales manager at one of the BMW dealerships and I told him I would never buy a car from a BMW dealer due to negative feedback and always playing stupid games when it comes to doing a deal or test drive. The only good experience I had from a dealership was Honda when my dad bought his Civic 2 years ago. Great service as got the car cheaper than any garage or private sale plus 3 years free servicing, warranty and got the car through a full detail, wheels refurb and all scratches done. When I went back a year later to service it still treat you with loads of respect and always willing to help. Not like the Germans who never call or reply back.
We live in a crazy world where the more premium the brand and more expensive it is, the worse the treatment becomes! Vw still haven't answered my launch control and battery status questions either. I did however get an email from then reminding me to book my first service... which isn't even due until April! So they have the time to remind me of that!! Honda were difficult with me during the buying process but tbf with warranty work they were straight on it with no messing about. Ultimately though as you said in another comment dealing with genuine private sellers is the way to go!
Thanks mate. Basically from what the dealers told me the 235/240 is more of a daily driver version of the m2. So I think this means they will be very similar to the golf r with a softer ride. But with 6cylinders having a better sound. Test drive both lol I couldn't test drive any 240i in the end because dealer sold them all
Ride will be around the same as the Golf if you take a m240i with adaptive suspension. It won't handle as well quite so well the Golf, and will be slower 0-60 since it can't put all the power down. What the Golf R (and Audi S3) haven't got, though, is a torquey, silky 6 cylinder - that's what you're buying it for, above all else (and that's why BMW charge nearly 6K more for it over the next model in the range, the 230i)
What I have found with used car dealers is if you are interested in anything on his forecourt your his "long lost brother" but if you ask him to ring around the trade for something specific its "ill let you know" and thats the last your hear from him.

About 10 years ago I brought a BMW M5 touring from knights BMW in Stafford. When I picked the car up on the Friday of the Easter weekend I saw there was a little bit of fuel in the tank. So I started driving about 2 mins from the dealership there was a petrol station the car ran out of fuel before the petrol station. Long story short topped the car up went back to the dearlership and said I have just payed £70000 for the car and you don't even put fuel init for me. Well the response I got back was it not our problem that the car had no fuel. I keepet the car for 3 years and in the end I went to Mercedes and got a ex demo E350 with half a tank off fuel. BMW don't have any customer service skills at all.

Correct me if im wrong youtubers but a golf r registered after april 2017 the anual road tax for this car will be £500. I hope i am wrong but with what ive read and understand its correct. There is an article on Autoexpress all the emission bands before and after are all on there. All cars that have 255 and over g/km co2 will be £2000 anual road tax. Its a joke.
jesus christ that cant be right... i read that my R road tax will be reduced from 185 to 145 and that DSG R will be cheaper than a manual R with road tax. I heard the high road tax was for cars valuing £40k or more

Yes mate. Il keep it for four years I reckon because I've decided I want to try stage 1 remap and possibly go stage 2 and 3 as well. That's the plan at the moment anyway
It all depends it's not worth it in performance but in looks it will be to most it's like paintings/sculptures why do people buy them it just sits their and does nothing ... Because looking at them gives them joy sure you could get a cheaper sculpture / painting but you look at it and think wish I got the other lol
i took the m2 out and it drives as good as it looks. To me it looks so good id take it to bed lol. I asked two separate dealers straight: M2 or the 240i and they said M2 without hesitation. I think i would pay the extra for the M car because as Razor-Blade Bromance says its got such fantastic striking looks. And as a daily driver the M2 is definitely a capable car too. But again though as some people say, its looks aren't their cup of tea
You'll probably start to see discounts on the M2 due to the S55 lci being on the horizon early next year. However, currently, due to the discounts on the m240i a decently optioned choice would mean 15K difference. For 50K, other options (718s and even F type v8) come into play.

Got an M2 here in the US for MSRP. Picking it up at the end of March. Fyi. M2's in California are going for 50K over sticker.

be careful when you buy from sytners. I brought a 1 series and kept on braking down. Good thing it came with the warranty
Did the warranty have any limits? Was a sytner dealer warranty or was the car still under BMW manufacturer?
They only gave 12 months. That was sytners warranty. The car is 2009 reg and i think BMW's warranty only lasts 3 years

I also think the M3 LE500 is a very special car the last V8 if im not mistaken
