We could see megas return in Pokémon legends Arceus, and here's how would it go. After u completed the sinnoh region's first ever Pokedex, the professor reports u back to the headquarters to see if u completed the Pokedex (and u did) the professor congrats u on completing it and he gives u a second starter Pokémon that's already fully evolved as a reward (so u won't have to grind it up to ur team) the starters r Sceptile, Cynderace, or Greninja. And the other reward is the Azure flute something the professor found while exploring Mount coranet. But after u got the rewards, sphere pillar exploded, u and the rest of the Galaxy exploration team headed over there to see what's going on, u went there to only discovered that it was the captain of the team did the explosion. The reason y that happened so she can capture the god of Pokémon, Arceus!! And how the captain founded Arceus with out the Azure flute, is tracking it with an Arceus tracker, it allows the captain to well...TRACK ARCEUS!!! U tried to stop her, but the captains bisharp won't t let u through. U took it down with ur Pokémon team. After u took it down, Arceus showed up with the Azure flute that the Bisharp grabbed from ur pocket after the captain played it. The captain says the following, "Arceus, the Pokémon who made this world, I command u to join me and we can make a new world and a new universe, and I'll capture u with the red chain and the master ball (which is made by u and the professor) l will capture u right here right now!!!!" When she said that, the devil of the Pokémon world, giritina showed up, (this is when megas come to play) not only that, a meteorite popped up behind u and the Galaxy exploration team, u discovered that a key and mega stone (one for ur second starter of choice) U r able to pick it up and have no idea what they r supposed to be. U attached the mega stone on ur second starter Pokémon and then giritina took the captain to the distortion world (it's the same thing back in Pokémon platinum) U chased the captain down in the distortion world and then u founded the professor and the leader of the Galaxy exploration team saying "Leader: alright captain u either stop this or get lost and never comeback!!" "Professor: yeah u tell em sir!!!" And then the captain was irritated and then she attacks u. Her team would be Bisharp, tyranitar, hisuian braviary, Gengar, the starter that's stronger against u, and Arceus (that has the plate and type strong against u and it's shadow and it's has the shadow type) (and ur second starter has to mega evolve before the battle begins) after u beated the captain, she steps aside, u walked up to giritina and u battled and captured it and then u, the professor, and leader left the distortion world. And the captain is nowhere to be seen. And everything is back to normal and u time traveled back to the modern day of sinnoh with ur team of Pokémon
What did u think about the story I made if megas returns to Pokémon legends Arceus 🤔🤔🤔

To clarify, Shudo's "methods" (drinking, getting high ecc.) were already very much common during the writing of his works, Pokèmon was not the first project were he felt like using substances or alchool to find his inspiration. However, the whole Pokèmon project DID cause a lot of discomfort because of the many changes he had to do to his writings, both for the main series and the first three movies. The change of the protagonist was not his only idea, many deeper subjects were cut off since his superiors eventually decided to go for a series much more focused on kids then anything else. Yet he kept on going because he still believed in the project itself.
He really must be acknowledged for what he did for our beloved franchise

The thing is, I also always pictured Lugia as female and I actually remember Lugia being voiced by a woman when I watched it in the cinema way back then (German version). It was a surprise that when I found the DVDs many years later and watched those that Lugia was voiced by a man. I guess there could be a possibility that the cinema version had a different voice-over than the DVD version. Probably a very unusual possibility. But why else would I always have thought of Lugia as female and being voiced by a woman?

There's also the fact that people used to take Darumaka's dumplings and put it in their clothes to keep them warm, that book in Pokemon Platinum wich, in the japanese text, implies that people and pokemon used to get married, the several ghost pokemon who are actually dead humans, and the many weird pokemon couples that can breed together (Wailord and Skitty, Gardevoir and Muk, Sandacobra and Rattata, etc.)

I do want to point out one important factor in this: as much as Takeshi Shudo's facts in this video are sad and/or inspiring, I also want to point out that *most* of the darker aspects of the Pokemon World also came from Shudo's vision of the Pokemon World. It was very much NOT a nice place in his mind, with more details such as Gym Leaders being fired after only three losses (or something to that effect), and the fact that, if he were to have free control of the plot and had lived on to follow through, his vision would have seen the Anime culminate in Meowth and Pikachu leading Pokemon in a united *revolution* against Humankind. Yes, Team Rocket's Meowth and Ash's Pikachu.
While his death was tragic, I for one am glad his vision for the show was ultimately *not* followed.

if you remove the morality blinders of our world, and look at it with the perspective of an alien world full of danger lurking about every corner, it makes more sense. I don't agree at all with kids so young being able to be out and about as adults, but in a world with monsters both powerful and dangerous, the average lifespan would be far younger than our own world's lifespan and therefore the age of adulthood would be lower as well to compensate for it.
If you just think about it without applying Earth standards and look at cultural standards of an alien world, you see the context and perspective better, in my opinion at least. Not to mention the many female pokemon trainers that follow the same steps as their male counterparts in all routes and cities from every pokemon region.
It'd be more logical to say that being a pokemon trainer is necessary because pokemon can be dangerous to human in the wild. In order to transport and live safely people have to learn to capture and use pokemon.
This is proven by the fact that most people in the pokemon world are shown to have at least one pokemon as companion.
Plus the fact that there are literally trainer schools as part of their basic education.
So my guess is that everyone goes through a "phase" of being a trainer before moving on to something else.
I guess the writers of the novels wanted to make some cheap social commentary on Japan. But it really doesn't hold up to everything else that they've written.

They german translation is kinda weird at some points though. Having Ash's hat constantly referred to as his "Käppi" is kinda annoying to be honest.

Strangely enough, if you think about it, ten years of age does seem accurate for that world to be considered an adult in if you think about the setting of it. Not that I agree with it, but putting into perspective for a minute to explain while not excusing this fact:
this is a world inhabited by dangerous and powerful monsters and we don't really see too many old people in that world outside of a handful of npcs. Most are probably at oldest with the average, in their twenties or thirties with the rare few making it past fifty like some of the professors and gym leaders or elite four. Lifespans on average are likely far lower as a result of more dangers there, so age of adulthood would be lower too to compensate.
I don't like that fact, but perspective wise, it makes sense. Especially as this is not our world, but an alien world with magical monsters inhabiting it. Removing our world's morality from it and applying context of an alien world, culturally for them it makes sense. Even if we don't agree with that morality in our own world where it IS problematic for a ten year old to be doing Adult things.
(I do a lot of writing and deep thought on these things, and do write things that I myself don't agree with but it fits into the culture of what I am writing)

The one about Jenny and joy's employment is double sexist and actually makes no sense
Cause firstly for the girls, is basically comes down that most girls are not allowed to become a trainer (while the anime shows enough of both genders that makes you think it's pretty much equal and nearly all kids are trainers)
And for the boys it basically implies that if they can't become a trainer, then they can't do anything and are utterly worthless trash (yet again if you watch the anime you find enough males who are successful in live and normal people after having had their fill of being a trainer full time)
The booklet has failed miserably with that one

Knowing the man who created my favourite Pokemon died from literal stress really makes you sad and a little angry that his wishes weren't honoured. I mean really what was the harm in having a new protagonist take over anyway.

  • @maxwelllingafelter2373

The whole "ten year olds are considered adults in every way" thing is contradicted in the anime by Brock saying to/about multiple girls that would then be considered adults "I'm looking forward to you in eight years," which implies that they aren't actually considered adults romantically until they are eighteen. Aside from that, the rest of these are either true or plausible

    • @jaschabull2365

    • @Kahadi
      @Kahadi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree, but I can also see it not being as simple to properly manage it. Not because of Ash, but because of Pikachu. To replace Ash would mean either they need a new Pokemon as iconic and lovable as Pikachu, or need to work hard to give the new protagonist a Pikachu without making them feel like its just Ash again.
Again, I'm not saying they can't manage, nor that they shouldn't ever try, just that replacing Ash isn't as simple as it sounds. I don't even know what they could do to replace Pikachu. If they went with something else that refused to go into its Pokeball and always followed the new protagonist and rode on his shoulder, that would feel too similar to Ash, even if the Pokemon was nothing like Pikachu in design. So they would need something cute enough and cool enough and need to have a reason its often out of its Pokeball without feeling like Pikachu again. They can manage, his Greninja worked well enough as it is and could easily have been modified to fit better, but it wouldn't be easy. And every new protagonist would bring a similar issue, unless they or their partner Pokemon failed their role.

That Shudo story really bummed me out. He was right though. After Johto we should have moved onto a new character. May would be a possibility, but I think they would want a boy. Maybe Brendan. And basically every male protagonist from each generation.
Let’s be honest though. We’re not stuck with Ash because they prefer the character it’s 100% only because of Pikachu.
Side note, I was hoping the officer Jenny and nurse Joy fact was going to explain why they’re identical and named exactly the same. I think they’re clones. They found the best Pokémon nurse and police officer and they’re manufactured for each location. That’s why there’s 1 old nurse Joy (that I can remember) in the anime, she was either the original donor or was an early clone. I mean that has to be the only explanation.
