- Mega Pokemon is the first (technically second) battle gimmick in Pokemon history, and is beloved by every fan, except one. Mega Evolution originated from the games X and Y and till this day fans are asking for more megas even after so many years the transformation has been dormant. Pokemon will bring them back in Legends ZA but in this video we find out why Megas failed and why they are so beloved!

Another problem with Mega evolution is that you can't realistically give every pokemon a mega evolution. Not just is that an insane amount of work, even if you did it would remove the whole "coolness" of mega evolution.
What people like about Mega evolution is the idea of their favorite pokemon getting one and the reason Gamefreak mostly gave these to already popular pokemon (those that actually need them the least) is because that is the best way to satisfy the most people.
A big part of why megas where removed is because they where so exclusive to specific pokemon. All other mechanics where given to everyone, with some getting special treatment inside of that. Gigadynamax was basically Gamefreaks way of trying to bring back mega evolution in a diet way.
Tho naturally everyone having the mechanic makes it less "cool", which loops back around to why people want mega evolution back in the first place.

Oh yeah Legend arceus did had dynamaxing but they call it Alpha but sun moon is called Z- moves i'm pretty sure.😏

So. In terms of competitive pokemon Yes. Dynamaxing was the best. It allowed you to have fun and use weird pokemon and actually win! (until the dlc came out and ruined it)
