The only clothing Machoke and Machamp are wearing is the belt. It's specifically mentioned to be a Power-save Belt that it has to wear to regulate its power. Where they got that belt, no one knows.
Also the Tinka line's backstory is part of the charm. Baby is constantly bullied so when she grows up and gets power, she exacts revenge in the most intense way possibly.
Another point regarding Machoke and Machamp is the fact that despite the design they can also be female so if the underwear wasn't an issue, just think about the idea that the female versions are going around topless

Huh. Cool detail I just noticed seeing the Tinkaton line all together, the Tinkatink's hammer remains the core piece of the hammer throughout the evolution.
Yes, what surprised me is there was no mention of the Shiny version, only the hammer changes in Shiny form & if you look normal hammer is mostly Corvanite color.... & the Shiny hammer is Shiny Corvanite color
About Ghost Type moves being physical, I think it does have to do with ghosts in general being associated with doing pranks on people, at which point they do have to get physical, and we do see it a lot in the anime with Ghost Type Pokemon doing pranks on humans with licking and such. Even when they go all out in harming humans, like with how Drifloon takes children to the afterlife, it does so by having a physical contact with the kids. So yes, Ghost Types are actually very, VERY physical by nature.
I'm pretty sure Ghost was physical in Gen 1 because the only Ghost attacks in Gen 1 were a status move in Confuse Ray, a move that doesn't matter if it's physical or special in Night Shade, and one of the most physical-looking moves of all time in Lick. A better question would be why is DARK Special instead of Physical, as every Dark move prior to the split is either the six status moves from Gen 3 or the seven attacks, which six include every Dark move in Gen 2, that involve biting or otherwise performing a physical act.
Dark was made special because steel is physical

My theory for why ghost was categorized as physical back before the physical/special split: in gen 1, the only damage-dealing ghost type move that would use stats to calculate damage was Lick. They probably chose to make it physical based on that and for continuity reasons never changed it even after moves like Shadow Ball were introduced
Ghost is the opposite of psychic. Lick was also the only damaging ghost move in gen 1. Lick=physical.
Yah the only non physical move was Curse & that was ??? Type
with the tinkaton line and the bullying it feels like scarlet and violet only focus on the bullying as team star was bullied and arven wasn't bullied but neglected. Scarlet and Violet are focusing on very mature themes.
There's nothing like getting back at your bullies to make yourself better. I haven't played Scarlet or Violet yet, but I have a feeling I'll like Tinkaton.
Lol that's why the Tinkaton line got popular . It kills steel types and makes its hammer . Otherwise it wouldn't have become popular . I also like it because of this lol
All said, they are based on dwarves in mythology, so yeah, hoarding metal sounds right. And the final dex entry sounds like they are repaying everything in the "Big Book of Grudges". If you know, you know.

I had no idea about the Machamp and Machoke details, I always thought it was underwear and after learning it isn't i'm sticking with it being underwear.
I'm honestly loving the Gags that have come from the Tinkaton line, they give me a right laugh.

I refer to "The Big Book of Grudges" for the Tinkaton line and its Dex entries.
I think the reason ghost is physical is not necessarily because they're trying to say ghosts are physical themselves, but that their interactions with the world are physical. They're known to move things, create images, touch people's shoulders, etc. All physical manifestations/effects, so I guess it could make sense for ghosts to do physical damage. I think Ice makes more sense as physical, but hey
Ghost being physical makes perfect sense when you think about battling. And narrow your focus to just Gen I.
Ghost was meant to check psychic types. (It didn't because of the infamous bug) Which were deliberately OP. Psychic types usually had low Defense, but super high Special, which also acted as Special Defense at the time. So special attacks don't hit very hard against them.
So you could hit Alakazam for S E. Damage AND ignore his enormous Special stat and attack his teeny tiny Defense stat.
And thats why Ghost moves are Physical.
Plus like, Poltergeist, man.
Or Japanese yōkai being tangible and able to interact with the world. Think about which one makes more sense.
For what it’s worth, we acquire bits of Pokémon when we knock them out in Scarlet and Violet, so the tinkaton line doesn’t necessarily have to kill Other Pokémon, but it’s still a a little morbid 😂
Going along with the making hammers out of corviknight, shiny tinkaton is just a normal colored tinkaton but the hammer is the color of shiny corviknight.

I do believe it's literally filleting itself, by the name of the move, and carving off actual hunks of its body; it actually changes form when it uses the move and has pieces of itself missing

If you think about it, it sortof makes sense that a lot of the ghost type moves would be physical.
Stuff like Lick and Shadow Claw and such, do need to physically manifest to touch and damage the enemies. Something that phases through you, can't hurt you... 😅
Missed out on showing the picture on the pokedex for veluza which is the pokemon shedding its flesh
My favorite Pokémon movie is secrets of the jungle. Which pretty much explores the theme that people and Pokémon are the same thing, in the same way that real life humans and animals are the same thing. The line is even blurred in the movie when some Pokémon are equally as sentient as humans, and some people can even use “moves” and speak Pokémon language, that has been thought only possible by Pokémon. and yes, I did steal the characters picture for my profile.
On the topic of Tinkaton's evolution line dex entries, with the whole theory you developed (which is amazing btw):
Tinkatink's hammer gets stolen by steel eating pokemons. Then it is implied that the evolutions, Tinkatuff and Tinkaton, "kill" steel type pokemons to create their hammers...
So, basically, Tinkatink's hammer is made out of corviknight's/pawniard's metal bodyparts and then it's eventually eaten by another corviknight/pawniard when stolen to get eaten
So it all goes full circle there 🤘🏼😁

Also, a warning, the new DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has a chance to delete all save data.
It's not the DLC or the Pokemon GO connection. It's something to do with the latest update as a whole, but The Pokemon Company have been made aware of the issue and have said they're looking into it. It's a bit hard though, they don't really truly know what the issue itself is (last I heard) and to do that they have to replicate it. It's a very, very slim chance of it happening apparently, too, so they don't have much data to go off of. Not sure if there have been any updates within the last few days in terms of news, but that's what I last heard
I fail to see how Machoke and Machamp being naked isn't the better possibility. I don't think any pokemon should hold things (other than items given by the trainer) or wear clothing, ever.

In Japan, the concept and ideas of ghosts, or “yokai,” tend to be far from traditional ghosts as we see in our heads in the western world. We tend to think of ghosts as “phantoms and apparitions from the spirit world” that cannot physically affect the real world outside of psychic-like abilities or possessing people/things.
In Japan, all ghosts, even spirits of people who have passed away, are still viewed as very physical entities. They can touch, affect, and even disrupt the real physical world directly. And that is why I feel like it took so long to see a change in the ghost types classification. This makes sense when you think about how disconnected Japan and America (/other countries) were up until the mid-2000s when Gen 4 came out and finally gave us the Sp/Phys split.
Well this was long-winded, and just a personal interpretation. Hopefully someone takes something from this!

Prior to Gen 4's physical/special split the Ghost was type considered physical because of the reason why Ghost-type is super effective towards Ghost-types, because only a Ghost can *physically interect* with another Ghost. Pretty simple actually.
Wrong. It's because of the eastern depiction of ghosts and spirits being yōkai. These yōkai being tangible and able to interact with the world, unlike western ghosts

On the topic of Machoke and Machamp, idk if it was mentioned in a previous entry but there are apparently "fandom" pages of people that have a thing for those 2 Pokémon. Quite disturbing tbf and only learned of it from a note in Machamp's info on his death battle vs Goro from Mortal Kombat

Ghosts are metaphysical. Ba-dah-bum-bum-chh.
Anyway Japanese/East Asian ghosts/spirits are a very different breed when compared to a lot of more western stuff. So to me it doesn't not make sense.
However I tend to agree with the people pointing out it was supposed to be the counter to Psychic, and Psychic is weak defensively to physical.
Also the easiest way to remember which types were special before the split is all the Eeveelutions. Well except for Dragon.

To me the only logical way Ghost could be considered physical back then was because ghosts can possess objects and use them to attack the oponent, like those horror stories about plates being thrown towards people or windows exploding without reason and so on.

I think MAYBE the ghost type being physical is that for it to deal damage it does indeed has to manifest fully into the physical plane. It actually makes a ton of sense to me but maybe this was a poor way of explaining it 🤷🏾♂
I was gonna say something very similar. Perhaps the ghosts being physical type is to play on how many people believe ghosts to be able to interact with and actually influence the physical world.

When you factor that pokemon is a label for both animals and cryptids in the setting things Make more sense. The tinka line are hunters that use the parts from their prey. Mind you, when their prey is near human, like bisharp, it's still definitely weird.

Ghost being Physical was probably always linked to Lick being the only attacking move where the stats mattered.
Also I really do think that Game Freak's games that aren't Pokémon related. They are all good and underrated. Pokémon fans just like to whine because that's all they care about and that's so stupid.

I don't think Tinkaton scraps metal from Corviknight. People assume it does but the shiny forms don't match with the metal they stole from. The hammer is consistently brown or bronze when it should be red or black or white metals.
Ghosts are the least 'physical', but to look at it another way - death is a physical state of being. As the loss of the physical self it's the opposite end of the spectrum of life, still on the condition track of life-death. Plus not all Ghost types are intangible classic ghost style anyway so they are not completely separate from tangible being in the first place.

Cursed facts courtesy of being a history buff: Anistar city is in the real-world equivalent of Alsace-Lorraine in France. Alsace-Lorraine was ceded to Germany in 1871 after the Franco-German war, but was returned to France after WWI. This was a point of contention between the two during WW2. In the pokémon anime, Team Flare fights Ash and co. in an attempt to get the Giant Rock to Anistar City. Given previously mentioned similarities between Lysandre and a certain German fascist... I think I've made my point.
