  • Joint pain, rashes, sleeplessness and exhaustion. Your favourite foods could be slowly killing you. Oxalate-free and Low Oxalate living can change your life.
    I was plagued with joint pain, rashes, sleeplessness and exhaustion. I am so glad I found my way to ketogenic knowledge, traditional animal based nutrition and oxalate-free living. Sally K. Norton is the Queen if Oxalates - as a nutrition professional and researcher she diagnosed her own severe health problems that included joint and spine deterioration to her beloved vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. I am so grateful for her work, and that she shared her time with me.

    Great job with this interview! I really like how you blendEd in the spiritual aspect to this conversation. I am a client of Sallie‘s so I have watched everything with her on TH-cam, Many multiple times.

      Thank you Michael. I have also watched Sally many times! And am so grateful she joined me. She recognized that we both had lives steeped in yoga and that much of my audience is a yoga audience. She really spoke from deep knowledge of the spirit and human experience and purpose. I was in awe! You are fortunate to work with Sally - she is wise. Do share this with others. I know she was especially pleased with how it came out. 🙏🏽

    Excellent discussion! I totally relate to several of the scenarios presented, eg., physicians presented with a list of symptoms not even considering the possibility of oxalate sensitivity. I'm thinking the negative comments are from people who tolerate oxalates and have no empathy for those of us who have been burdened with the symptoms mentioned and by physicians who apparently need more education and less arrogance.

    This is so mindblowing! Thank you!! I've been a vegetarian for 20 years, started eating fish 5 years ago though. Never heard about oxalates...

      Glad you are watching! It is mind blowing. I barely touch vegetables any more - I am living the opposite diet of my 30 years of vegetarianism. But i am happy, clear headed and pain free.

    I have been so happy to find out about Oxylates from Sally since her interview with Dr Mercola. 2019..and now eliminating lots of Oxylates..spinach, chard, kiwis, beets, adding cocoa from my morning coffee..almonds...less joint pain. Less Vulva pain, stopped urinary urgency..and having..less choices in eating, cooking, gardening has appealed to my minimalist choices..

      Thank you for your comment here. I am so glad to hear you have found a path to health and ease. Sally is doing amazing work! I am so grateful to her for spreading this news. Suffering is not inevitable- we can make new choices and get new outcomes. I also like the simplicity of it. 🌺🌺🌺

    Does anybody know if Oxalate can cause anxiety/depression?

    • @kikiflynn
      @kikiflynn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I believe they do. But lack of animal foods and animal fats also effects the brain. adversely. But I can tell that when i do eat off plan - i do get more racing thoughts and fearful thoughts.

    • @rossconnor684
      @rossconnor684 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kikiflynn Do you think they also affect gut health and hormone balance? I've suffered with these issues my whole life and have always eaten a 'healthy' diet full of vegetables etc. Like Sally I was raised to eat well but have always felt the exact opposite.

    • @kikiflynn
      @kikiflynn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes all this can be due to oxalates. Look st Sallys website and check out Trying Low Oxalate community on Facebook. This change has been amazing for me. But i am not trained to guide you but certainly Sally is as is this group.

    Oh ... I dunno .... The God of the Christian bible did say after the fall of man of plants: 'both thorns and thistles it will yield for you" ... He did not clarify whether this was just outside the plant or throughout it. :/ Genesis 3:18. Also, God preferred the meat offering of Able over Cains grain offering. Genesis 4:4-5. Also, Christ told us we should fast. Our bodies need breaks from food not just for spiritual reasons, but physical too.

    • @kikiflynn
      @kikiflynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I think if this is used im a traditional way according to knowledge handed down by ancestors it could be healthy. BUT as western vegetarians and as modern day eaters - we have over consumed these foods and eaten in a new fangled way.

    If you have health gut bacteria you can easily consume oxylate foods.

    • @kikiflynn
      @kikiflynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If. Yes. If. This would be very rare for people who have strayed from traditional heritage ways of eating, consume factory produced junk foods and were never nursed.

      @@kikiflynn Eating too much animal protein, such as red meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood, boosts the level of uric acid and could lead to kidney stones. A high-protein diet also reduces levels of urinary citrate, the chemical in urine that helps prevent stones from forming.
      All foods have pros and cons.

    • @foxywhitetip7387

      balance is key, we should never push any extreme diet in the first place

    • @foxywhitetip7387
      @foxywhitetip7387 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not exactly. We have lost our natural seasonality our ancestors had for millions of years and they did not go to the store and buy chocolate. Chia pudding nuts and spinach year round in the quantities we consume now
