The DSGs that go into these are pretty solid as long as you keep it stock and change the oil every 40k. They are def not as fun as a real manual but it's the next best thing. Have 46K on my 2018 GTI and I haven't had a singe issue with it, and that's when they were made in Mexico. It's a pretty great daily driver that's practical and quick. When I bought the Tundra started using the local Toyota dealership and over time (5 years), started seeing, (the Toyota service department) was shorting me one quart of oil on every oil change and the color of the oil was darker than the Toyota W0-20 pure synthetic. Sounds like cheap bulk oil to me. I told the manager and he said he would make a note of it. Ended up buying extra quarts of Toyota oil and topped off after each oil change, switched dealership and on the first oil change was one quart low…

My 2015 was a solid car. Only reason why I traded it in was because that year had an older head unit that didnt have the features of the Mk 7.5 and It required Premium fuel. The 2022 is rated for 87 so much cheaper at the pump. Plus with the used car market going up in price I got a good trade in deal. as long as you keep up wiht the maintence and don't beat it to harshly it should last you a while based on the experiences of the rest of the guys that have mk7's that I know.
