I think he meant from dig. Issue here was he was just making way over power of rated factory numbers. I use to own same car and did plenty of rolling accelerations from 2nd never had issue and I was mostly stock.

It's usually driveline SHOCK (going from 0 to handling 300hp in no time like in the video) than the power itself. He brake boosted instead of rolling onto the power ...basically the same as a launch in terms of damage lol
I have a feeling he has money to do the trans. He didn't seem too upset. I've lost 2 engines and it's gut wrenching(And I had the money for a full rebuild last time, including new turbo, still gut wrenching because it was most my cash at the time). Both of you are fucking idiots. The engine will start regardless of what happens to the gearbox. Except if its magically fused together somehow and the starter can't turn because the clutch is fucked too. Rather stfu before showing us you don't even know that the gearbox is seperate from the engine. With that logic, you'd probably check the oil to try fix a flat.

Any person with half a brain knows exactly what that is the moment it happens. On a front wheel drive or 4wd ( anything with CV's ),,,, especially considering his downshift & how high he let the synchro's spin before giving it gas again and doing a snap shift into 2nd, many a man have broken off the shaft or destroyed the CV joint in exactly that fashion... The uninformed kid sitting next to him called it the moment it happened. Metal that breaks on your car for various reasons, always sound the same. For people who do not understand cars, or what happened: When you accelerate too much while at low speed, the gearbox undergoes great stress from the sudden change in torque, and if the car does not have a modification to handle that amount of torque, it dies (gearbox).
that is nonsense.... a gearbox itself is almost unbreakable if you change gear correctly , incorrect use of the clutch is what breaks gearboxes, in this case the driver was crunching the gears and not using the clutch properly.
If you decide that allowing the revs to match is a "Them Problem" and just drop the clutch as hard as you can, that puts a little stress on the gearbox too. If I shifted my bicycle like in this video, the chain wouldn't last a block.
Should swap the whole drivetrain from an STI because that 5-speed drivetrain sucks. If you don't do that the next thing you're gonna blow up is your rear diff
Do people seriously say that? That's one of the dumbest things I ever heard. For one, extra weight and loss through the powertrain are major downsides to AWD systems, not to mention more shit to break

I think he meant from dig. Issue here was he was just making way over power of rated factory numbers. I use to own same car and did plenty of rolling accelerations from 2nd never had issue and I was mostly stock.

It's usually driveline SHOCK (going from 0 to handling 300hp in no time like in the video) than the power itself. He brake boosted instead of rolling onto the power ...basically the same as a launch in terms of damage lol

Except if its magically fused together somehow and the starter can't turn because the clutch is fucked too. Rather stfu before showing us you don't even know that the gearbox is seperate from the engine. With that logic, you'd probably check the oil to try fix a flat.

For people who do not understand cars, or what happened:
When you accelerate too much while at low speed, the gearbox undergoes great stress from the sudden change in torque, and if the car does not have a modification to handle that amount of torque, it dies (gearbox).
Very general statement also incorrect in this case
If its well designed it wont explode when you do that. What happened here is a man with lumps of lead for hands tried and failed to change gears.
that is nonsense.... a gearbox itself is almost unbreakable if you change gear correctly , incorrect use of the clutch is what breaks gearboxes, in this case the driver was crunching the gears and not using the clutch properly.

If you decide that allowing the revs to match is a "Them Problem" and just drop the clutch as hard as you can, that puts a little stress on the gearbox too.
