I moved to Belize in 2023. (retired from USA) I live in Santa Elena, Cayo Belize. I rent a small house and live comfortably on $1000 USD. I'm as happy as I've ever been . Love it here.
@@alienking2015 Coming to Belize and trying to work here is not advised unless its on line. Or start a new tour company here... The tourist industry here is one place that the locals all want to be in. The only way for you to be hired would be if they couldn't fill it here with locals.
Such an Awesome and informative video. I am thinking about moving to Belize from USA. She is a great person and so friendly. Hopefully I can bump into her in Corozal Belize someday soon. ❤
You can't get much land for $6k in Belize. You are looking at 10x at least. Belize is not cheap. Food prices are similar to here in Canada Ontario. Lots of Chinese stores. For furniture or tools you are looking at 3-5x the price that is in Canada.

I never thought in my life being British I would ever leave the UK but I'm really considering doing it, for me it was Belize first never setting up a business in Belize.
Nice to see you're not falling into the trap of buying lots of (imported) food because without a peanut butter jelly sandwich, your life would be incomplete. When I was in Belize in the '90's I heard lots of American expats bitching about the price of Kellog's cornflakes and other imported stuff they seemingly couldn't live without.
This is my personal opinion- I think some of the information on the site is not too accurate for example Gas is $5.00 US per gallon Apartment is $500-1000Bze depending on the location Punta Gorda is the cheapest place to live but there are setback Belmopan, San Ignacio , Belize city - corazal and orange walk are more expensive, $1000 US per month depending on you life style - It could be cheaper or more expensive Belize is the most beautiful place I’m live and I’m live and travel to many countries- Ig you want to get a true Belize experience visit thr place and at stay for a month - visit the farmer market ,food store , churches , stay with the local people not with the tourist Belize Is a farming county so food is cheap
Hi Joseph. I moved to Belize from U.S. two years ago. A good place to start gathering information is a YT channel named “ International Living” by Laura Difandal. ( spelling?) She provides accurate and reliable information. Check out all of her videos.
Hi, l like your video. l am planning to move to Beliize but l am finding difficulties in booking the ticket .l am teacher in vietnam.please l want you to help me if there is a way thank you.
The problem is getting adjusted to the abject poverty image in Belize. There is really no “nice” neighborhood unless you want to move to San Pedro. Most of the homes are made of cinder block or wood planks and are not very stylish, but that is the culture. It is a very poor country and finding a comparable lifestyle like you would in the UK or US would be hard to find unless you move to San Pedro. That is not to say you can’t live well in other communities it will just be a very poor “looking” community. However don’t let that fool you. The neighborhood may look poor/ghetto but the people could have more money than you. They are humble people and are not outwardly flashy.
@@sctbsctb1620 I see alot of value and natural beauty on my last visit to Belize. As a Jamaican/American I felt right at home there in Belize. It’s a great second option out the US/Europe/Canada/Australia. Visit three separate cities there and still it a top pick for a second home.

I am shocked at the low cost of living compared to here in Guadeloupe. Thanks for this very interesting episode!
I know me too. Maybe I picked the wrong destination 😂
Guadeloupe and Martinique are French territories so I'm not surprised. 😂

The best way to buy land without all that kayos is to get a real-estate lawyer.
Do you have a name of a lawyer?

Who is selling privately owned land in Belize? Hit me up!

Is there any country that’s not corrupt and dangerous these days? Any suggestions?
