While I want to respect everyone's culture, I can't help but notice how the first man, the Scribe, is so full of himself. Also, my heart goes out to the divorced young lady. She is beautiful, smart, capable, and so loving. Her energy is so soothing and I hope she meets the man of her dreams.
I think he really wants to be married but would do better in a regular dating scenario. Dating should be like trying on shoes. Find a pair that is comfy, that looks good on you and that you can wear forever. Might take a few rounds. You might wear a pair for a bit and like them at first but they might suck a few months later. Their culture expects them to just jump into marriage questions on the first date. I think he is struggling more with honoring his traditions while wanting to do what he feels would be best for him.
I think he clarified it very well at the second dating, that he is very insecure, and open about the whole dating process and in fact he is obviously very rebellious and worried to what this may lead for both of them because he wants the best for the both of them. I think he is a very witty and sensitive person who is just looking for a girl who acknowledges and appreciates that, and being witty herself.
true i was also asking same question tht wat is guy thinking abt himself ? is he james bond or casanova tht he can blow any women's mind with his 5min talk or looks
It seems the women must settle, the men are awkward and bring little to the table. It’s tragic the women are being told they are asking for too much when it’s the bare minimum.
I live next to a huge orthodox community and have so many questions about how the economics and norms of their community work. But any questions or critique is labeled anti semitic regardless of intent or general curiosity to have a greater understanding of my neighbors. It’s weird to be in a community where so many want nothing to do with you socially especially because I’ve been told my whole life that segregation is wrong.
@@nicoleb1581 Agreed and for some reason that segregation is still our fault. What are we suppose to do? Break into their homes and force them to talk with people whose customs are "hedious" (maybe I overeacted) to them?

They go to “school” to study the Bible while the wife goes to work to support the family and then raises the kids, cleans the house, cooks all the meals and etc etc etc. I personally believe they bring almost 90% of the assets into the marriage!!!
I mean, I’ve heard about jewish moms and their guilt trips, but wow.... that was next level. ‘ I want you to be happy, but hurry up and decide if you want to spend the rest of your life with this boy, you’ve had three dates already!’ No pressure.

Yeah, I really like Ariel's father. His mother is nice, too. I got the impression that they really tried to make Esti feel at ease. Her father, on the other hand, when meeting Ariel was a bit ... too direct, maybe? I would have kept that part about him not being suited to be a shochet for myself.
I also really liked Ariel and his parents. Ariel himself looks like a really nice young man, very good natured. And they are beautiful the three of them.
Ariel almost lost a gem, that girl was way over his level. He had a good matchmaker. I think ( I want to call her ETSY LOL) esty's mom did right, Ariel needed some pushing to close the deal. Loved that Jewish momma guilt she laid on her taking her to the grave and crying. Epic JMG

My husband and I met by accident, but we still handled dating this way. The day we met we ended knowing exactly what the other wanted out of life. During that dating period we met each others families and they got to know us on our own and together. We met each others friends and they gave opinions. There was no "well maybe I want this" or "I'm not so sure" it was all "this is what I want and expect". We've been together for 18 years now and no regrets.
Nothing is by accident! God has planned everything for everyone! We tend to think, as you put it, "accidental" or "coincidental"...because we are limited. God is not limited! Have a wonderful day, may God continue to bless your union! Amen 🙏🏼
But that was you and your choice it's when you are given no choice that there becomes an issue.Who tells an 18 yr old girl go on three dates then marry the person for a lifetime.
First guy, the Scribe, is sad. He will never be a good partner to anyone, as he has an issue with his self confidence. He will be looking to his partner to constantly validate him and massage his ego.
I don't know in the end. Him leaving his religious law studies. I think that he thinks he lost the love of his life because of how serious and overly religious he is. She may have planted his feet in the ground.
I felt that Estis mother was too manipulative and pushy in forcing her daughter to make a decision. I think the tears she squeezed out were from her own personal frustration and that she was not so concerned with Estis happiness (as she claimed,) as with Esti marrying the guy because she was embarrassed that her daughter was still dating and she was scared of people finding out, being as they're ultra orthodox. I sure hope the marriage goes well for the couple though. What was the lawyer lady's name? What a beautiful person she is! What a shame that her reason for divorcing her husband was not made known by the dating agency! She divorced him because he did not read the Torah, she did it so soon,so she would not be pregnant and have to stay with him, because she said she wanted a husband that would read the Torah to the children. A beautiful, gentle, intelligent sweet lady and she is bypassed because the dating agency arent doing the job right!
“Am I the King”? I would run a mile from a guy with a narcissistic attitude like that! Marriage to him would be awful - he seems very egotistical and controlling

I am from secular Jewish family and my parents were trying to set me up,but I didn't like the guys. They never pressured me to get married and at a right time I've met my husband. We're happily married for 17 years.
I agree with you no one should pressure into marriage...but on the other hand, there are too many single men and women above 30ties, and complain they could not find the perfect match. Even worse, cannot leave offspring. Regarding divorces, they should be accepted only in case of domestic violence, or cheating. I laughed at my friends when they told me they wished to marry earlier, now I am saying the same. The family gives you the direction and purpose of your life. The family is a sacred thing.
I agree with you. No one should have to pay, or go through this much. At the end of the day, men are the lucky ones to have a woman in their life. Women are stronger than this. The patriarchy stinks and we ARE ALL TIRED bc it is ruining much(wars, earth)! Women are so much stronger and better than this. Oh wait! Am I being too opinionated. Calling someody "damaged goods" just because they're divorced is a disgusting way to label a women. Did nobody teach them that it takes two people to be compatable!.
The pressure that these individuals have to endure for their “family” is tremendous. After 3 dates for 45 mins or less to figure out if they want to marry someone.. whoo
Yeah! In school people thought our family was in some kind of cult because we had 'so many' children... and I have 2 sisters!! But all! the other kids' families had 1 or 2 kids...
As the mother of a beautiful 26 year-old young woman, I was brought to tears seeing that relationship play out. It also made me wish that my culture supported their marriages and their young people like this. The protection of “mind body spirit” by a god and family is a wonderful set of relationships.
So much stress! You have to marry someone so fast but you'd better pick the perfect person so you don't divorce because then no one will want you. So. Much. Stress!!!
@Hugy Ugy Easy to be smug but in the secular world in the next 10 years almost half prime age women will be single, basically civilizational failure. Who's really stupid here.

I come from an Orthodox Sephardic Jewiish family on my fathers side, he was raised in the religion but my mother was not, he met my mother who was African American, he did not practice and left all together but still wanted us married off to Orthodox men, I was about these women's age when he bought one to our home to introduce to me without me knowing, his boss and him had it all planned. I was living home as most of us do and I had nothing to do with it. I was livid to say the least. Now I am 56 and divorced but I would never marry into something that would make me unhappy. My marriage was my choice and the divorce was mutual.
Me same my Mom married me to Orthodox Jewish Man when i was 30 and i have Jewish origin but as im in Spain assimilated to Catholicism i love Shabbat and High Holidays but disliked to Live with a man hardly know i divorced last year after 8 years and my mum feels betrayed. I came out of coma with 29 for a multiorganical failure after hospital she had all plan my now ex husband arrival and the wedding. I understand the feelings you cannot know one personality in few dates you need time to bond and grow in love.I had forced marriage not out of love and unilateral divorce they didnt want me to divorce.
I am tracing my family tree and I am pretty sure I also have Sepharidic Jewish blood. I do not have a religion as yet but I feel really close to Judaism for some reason, I cannot explain it. You have a great name, by the way :o)
Are there many mixed race ultra-orthodox? I ask this legitimately as I live by A LOT and I have never seen any. That’s neat if so- I didn’t realize they were open to interracial relationships. Hell, I had a boy tell me his mother would “kill him” if he brought home a Catholic girl of the same race. 🤣
He definitely needs to mature more. I can't imagine him saying some of the things he said with the expectation of finding a girl to marry. He has a very warped view of a relationship, let alone a marriage, and he needs more time to grow and mature. His views resemble more like how a puppy will love you, not a woman.
The 1st case, she says: Tell me about yourself. He starts speaking about his rabbi! He seems insecure, and gives out little but asks a lot. This system isn't easy.
I am not Jewish, or religious in anyway for that matter. I was very gripped by this beautifully made documentary though. The director does an excellent job at documenting this group of people in a very non judgemental way. Something that many other documentarists fail to do, when filming. I looked up the director and is surprised to see that he has only done a total of two movies. I hope that we will get more from this guy in the future, as this was absolutely brilliant.
totally agree, kiwi female here, this was awesomely made, as a free woman with choices this was mind blowing, the pressure, couldn't stop watching, all the best to these young adults, just wow!❤
Despite their beliefs and upbringing, etc. I think a key take-away anyone could take away from their approach to dating is how upfront and honest they all are about what they're looking for out of the relationship and life, not something you see much anymore.
I actually found that they didn't address anything really important, you know, the real questions life will throw at you. How they want to spend their days and get money and whether to allow children to watch tv or not seems rather trivial to me (and they had no consensus on that last issue).

Esty's mom is a nightmare. Ariel's parents seem really likable. The extreme orthodox dude has no idea what he wants, whatsoever. The divorced lawyer doesn't deserve all the slack she gets for being divorced after only five months, and her friend is adorable.
The problem is as they called it damaged goods. A phrase I’m grown up with especially if you come from religious backgrounds and they are orthodox. She is not a virgin anymore and many man who never where married and especially their families will not like that. @@Tunisgirl1982 Oh, I get it. I mean I understand the concept. I just find it highly unfair based on the little she revealed about her failed marriage.
@@peanutforever2191 the fact she is a woman is enough, woman are seen as less than man. And she mentioned that her ex-husband did lie about religious aspects he said he is doing and practicing but the reality was he didn’t, well unfortunately the majority of people don’t care if it was her fault or the husband. As a woman you will carry the blame anyway
His fundamental misunderstanding of the courtship process boils down to a VERY powerful thing he said: "Yes, that you're mine. Even before I'm yours."" An incredibly beautiful and powerful phrase that I may not ever forget, but it SHOULD have been: "I'm yours even before you're mine."
Well actually, in context it made sense and wasn't terrible. He felt that she was the one for him even before she felt that he was the one for her. That's what he was saying I think. It's a little confusing because the subtitles don't indicate who is saying what.
I think he actually said "That you're mine. That you're mine from before... that I am yours." kind of implying that she is his soulmate, since having a predestined soulmate is part of the belief. This video is a weird spliced together doc from a 3 part docuseries called a match made in heaven, you can find it elsewhere on youtube and it is much more enjoyable to watch than this version.
I thought the girl that got married was very practical and level headed. I loved how she said we are not the first to get married, implying that they will get through it like anyone else.
Although several of these customs are foreign to me, I find it fascinating to learn of another culture, their mores, customs, ideas, etc. I really enjoyed this documentary. Excellent.
Yes it’s nice understanding a little bit more of their culture. The fact that you could ‘date’ that many people was illuminating. It also shows that it’s not forced even if there nay be pressure from some sides. I do like that both the man and the woman know what they’re trying to get out of dating
I always wonder how people manage to get the permission to film such personal areas of people’s lives. I love these types of documentaries. They provide an amazing insight into the lives of others.

I feel sorry for couples that later are trapped when they didn't get the right partner because they haven't even seen the defects yet. To vomit your expectations like that is to not understand the process of love and to feel desperate instead of growing organically something beautiful that takes time and real effort!
@@PlateletRichGel Or maybe you are single because you can afford a massive kitchen to deserve such a talented wife! What you put into this world would come back as a boomerang!

Honestly with attitudes like that after the 1st date he wont find a girl who wants him and if he does she will probably be unhappy. Did he blow her mind, is he the king? Bring that ego down. Thats wild.

This seems like an incredibly oppressive environment for women. The men keep saying they don't want a wife that basically has a mind of her own. I'd suffer greatly in a culture like this
Agreed. They don't want a wife that challenges them to improve themselves and their relationships with God and other people. A marriage is a give and take, with both spouses being able to communicate and form a friendship with each other.
I’m sorry, but did you MISS how incredibly OPINIONATED and independent these women are?!? There is absolutely no evidence of repression! These women live in an open country. They’re around the most secular of people. They CHOOSE their own path in life, and what it is they want. It seems as though you’d suffer greatly in any “culture” or society.
I wish there were more episodes of this! This is the most interesting and fascinating doc I’ve watched in a long time. I love seeing the other side of cultures and how their beliefs are so important to them. Fantastic job!
I love this documentary! Learning about this way of finding a spouse...in the secular world, it's so chaotic, and not so nice. I feel a deep respect for this way, even though it's so different from my ways. I want to watch more docs like this!

I don't think there's respect in the way young people are all forced to follow the exact path their sect decides. Their decisions are being made for them
Esti is gorgeous. She has such beautiful eyes and a wonderful smile. I liked her husband as well. You could tell they really liked each other. Even if they weren’t married, I could see them as being great co-parents.

his parents were not very lovely either. First his mom asks him if the girl is prettier than she is, to stop from fighting he doesn't answer just gives her a quick shoulder hug. Then when the girl comes over to meet the parent the mom sort of ignores her and the dad asks which one is this and names off three girls.... and then in the next second asks if she will be okay living with them or not. The girl isn't too stupid so she says she will need a minute to think, the dad continues to be an intimidating jerk and says you can even have 2 minutes. This is the exact same tradition in arab communities 🤣 Especially the limited dates. It's a huge no no to keep dating whilst nothing is official Only difference is the man prefers the wife not to work, and also the man doesnt study the religion all day, instead they go out to work because they're the breadwinners of the household.
@@ishizukahikaru643 the women work hard for sure and you can see they want to serve their husbands but I feel sorry for them they have to be main bread winners so the men can study religion. And they have to have multiple kids and raise them too. The work load divide doesn’t seem fair but I guess that’s the culture, every community has a culture and it’s no one is perfect. It’s a similar dating experience in Muslim communities but were told not to focus on religion all day because taking care of the family is worship too.
I disagree. You can´t say "Arab communities" because that´s many and too general. Also, not all orthodox families are doing exactly like the people in the video.
Are you arab? Because I think you're opinion is very stereotypical, doesn't explain much of the whole process, arab dating and marriage is based on islamic tradition, it doesn't work like that You're wrong about the number of dates, you can have as many dates as you want but you should have a chaperon with you at all times, once you get engaged you're a bit more free and you can remain engaged for how long you want, I've seen couples be engaged for 5 years before marriage. The important thing on islamic dates is to date with the intention of marriage and your parents must be aware of what you're doing, where you're going and with whom at all times. In islam there isn't really a preference of women working or not but as you said men usually prefer them not to culturewise, and yes for the last part, men must be the breadwinners, that's a must, as a husband all your wife's necessities are your responsability, she can contribute if she works, but that's her choice, so I think it's actually pretty different from jewish tradition
@@emoticonfeliz2129 I'm indeed arab, Lebanese actually. Traditions depend not only on islamic guidance but also on the region. For example, in the urban cities muslims are more moderate so parents dont insist on a chaperon for their daughter while in the village they most certainly require the daughter to have a chaperon with her on all dates. And this also includes the timeframe. I'm not saying that the max are 3 or 5 dates, I'm saying that even in muslim traditions a long engagement is found discouraging and not recommended. The parents insist after 1 year engagement marriage happens, if not 6 months so there is a traditional limitation, regardless of Islamic dictation
Well done! I was surprised by how captivated I was by their stories, especially because I had to know their story through subtitles. All very interesting. Wishing the young couple who married a happy life together. Shalom.

Wow, "Do you see yourself as the breadwinner so your husband can study?" We MUST know what traits we're (not) looking for in a long-term partner.
@@BenefitCounterbench There's a difference between 'forced' and 'arranged' marriages. What is shown in the video is not forced, it's arranged by family, the participants choose whether or not to move forward with it. >It's well-known that keeping a lover beside a spouse became a thing because forced marriages sucked. People still do this even in western society where you're free to be as promiscuous as you want. Marriage rates have gone down drastically, just because people 'choose' who they date, doesn't mean they're more committed or happy. Dating as a whole is a minefield in today's age. If dating actually worked, divorce rates surely would be at record lows would they not? In theory, women get to choose who they marry and same with men, they should be happier, but no. Divorce rates are at record highs, people go through dozens of partners and they lose their ability to pairbond successfully with one person, which increases the rate of divorce. Also, arranged marriages are statistically more longer lasting and happier than 'love' marriages.

Etsy's mother is extremely manipulative; it was more about her feelings than Etsy's. Still, the orthodox Jews have some good ideas. A couple who believe they want to marry SHOULD discuss everything they can think of before taking vows, so if there is a conflict that's a deal-breaker, they wouldn't make a mistake which could cost them both emotionally, physically, and financially. The idea of three short "dates" being time enough to make a choice doesn't cut it. A good marriage needs God, prayer, commitment, respect, sacrifice and the big one - compromise. You can't figure all this out in just three visits with one another.
I come from that world and married young. I love that I really got to know my husband before emotions came in to play. I agree with you, Estys mom is selfish and worried about her own reputation.
What you say is quite valuable, but remember, when you have a deep rooted similarity in values, culture, lifestyle, religion, etc., things line up a little better.

He's not really, he's actually quite insecure. Just comes across as arrogant... but notice he asks her if she was disappointed a few times
@@dotheyfloat9961 Aww. I wish him the best. He does seem like a sensitive soul.

What are the women bringing to the table?

I come from an Orthodox Sephardic Jewiish family on my fathers side, he was raised in the religion but my mother was not, he met my mother who was African American, he did not practice and left all together but still wanted us married off to Orthodox men, I was about these women's age when he bought one to our home to introduce to me without me knowing, his boss and him had it all planned. I was living home as most of us do and I had nothing to do with it. I was livid to say the least. Now I am 56 and divorced but I would never marry into something that would make me unhappy. My marriage was my choice and the divorce was mutual.

totally agree, kiwi female here, this was awesomely made, as a free woman with choices this was mind blowing, the pressure, couldn't stop watching, all the best to these young adults, just wow!❤
@@carmenl163 They all came from the same community, if you pay close attention... when they are match making the first thing they ensure is that their partner is orthodox, meaning they already share same or similar values.
If he was divorced too things will get easier but for her as a woman you are less worth without that piece of skin. To be called damaged goods because she was divorced, was terrible.
YUP!
His fundamental misunderstanding of the courtship process boils down to a VERY powerful thing he said:
"Yes, that you're mine.
Even before I'm yours.""
An incredibly beautiful and powerful phrase that I may not ever forget, but it SHOULD have been:
"I'm yours
even before you're mine."
I thought the same when he said that. Beautiful. But I wondered if there was a translation error. Lol.
I pray the divorced girl finds her happiness and Im thrilled for the couple that got married
I find much more problematic that he says „i am the king, always“
Excellent.
ditto!
Yes it’s nice understanding a little bit more of their culture. The fact that you could ‘date’ that many people was illuminating. It also shows that it’s not forced even if there nay be pressure from some sides. I do like that both the man and the woman know what they’re trying to get out of dating

I’m glad it worked out for Etsy I felt so sorry for her the pressure from her mother was immense
Good heavens, her Mother is off the scale.
Esty is Disgusting.
@@dianapeek6936 Yep!! More worried about what people would think about 'her' than she is her daughter's life.
Yes and when she says "Are you thinking of what it does to my emotions?" So many manipulative and toxic behaviours.. I was like : no-one else is responsible for your emotions other than yourself dear crazy lady. Deal with your fears alone and let your daughter breath 😒
"I want a woman with enough intelligence to be complete without her man....I want to be at her side at all times and for it not to be the same without me." They are polar opposite philosophies lol
@Cillian Murphy smart enough to be complete without her man, but in love so much with him, that life would just not be the same without him, or each other! I think that's beautiful!
@@plantdiva8472 exactly. I totally understood what he was trying to convey!
He's saying he wants a woman who wants him but doesnt need him.
Clear as day... He wants to be "The King", wants her to be emotionally dependent to feed his weak ego, and he's trying to be slick and say it in another way
@@AB-nb2ic said with such clarity 🧐👍
I think it’s admirable that he has chosen to further his studies. I think his friend’s wife gave the most honest advice... she also had some very valid points :)
Thank you for an 1 hour and 15 minutes of "anxiety porn." I'm exhausted now.
The young rabbi student's wife was very smart. "You can't fall in love with someone in 2 dates." You have to live together and find out. Requires some faith and nerve to jump into that.
Merav looked like the best catch. She's so smart and radiates this wonderful energy.
The matchmaker is negotiating lol
I love this! I love the transparency they have with each other from the beginning. They ask hard questions right away. Now, I understand even better the influence the Jewish culture has had on me as I grew up in NY. Directness is key in these conversations. Thank you!
Agreed. I definitely get why things happen as they do in their culture much more now.
That’s pure desperation. They have little to no time making a life determining decision.
I don’t see that as positive in any way.
I mean they marry after two 30 minute dates. They better be asking the hard questions.
That's the key of a healthy relationship. Ask questions, answer them and get married after 3 dates 😑
I love it too. Life would be much simpler if people actually ASK hard questions and received HONEST answers
I loved when the douchy dude on the second date said the girl wasn't honest and all that and she just looked at him and said, " So, what are you really looking for?"
She seems religious yet fun and outgoing and needs a strong man who is truly confident enough to appreciate her.
I haven't gotten to the end yet, but I hope she runs!
Yeah, he wants an equal partner who will not fall apart when he is not there, and she wants a confident man who can provide leadership and stability - take charge attitude but not walk all over her. They are both talking but not listening to each other. I also like them together, but sometimes, these things don't align. Better to call it quits now than down the line.
👆
He decided he's scared of her cause he's overly concerned about women who are "bossy."
My impression was exactly the same as yours. I think she was too emotionally self-reliant for him. But he'll eventually figure out that most women will be that way.
Hes such a douche bag and he's not even handsome, but thinks hes a big deal of a guy. Hope she runs 🏃
I actually saw the first guy more scared to make the wrong choice and marry the wrong person and hiding behind him being “picky” I think he was dragging it out because he wasn’t ready.
I'm finding it funny how so many comments seem to have him all figured out when we've probably got even less of an idea about him than these people get to learn of one another on these job interview style "dates". Quite funny when ya think about it, dating can be quite daunting sometimes and all of these people jumping to conclusions based on such little information is a great example of why that is!
I agree! I actually feel sorry for him, he seems sort of tormented:(
@@mud5377 Exactly. People are looking at it from their individual perspectives. Their perspectives are built from their experiences and environments and in the secular world, not an Orthodox community. They don't understand that if they truly are to understand him, they need to see what he sees but from his perspective. Many people are incapable of putting themselves in somebody else's shoes.

Merav is an amazing woman with an immense amount of EVERYTHING to offer a husband. She’s drop dead gorgeous, incredibly intelligent, passionate and caring. I’d love to see an update with her married to her dream man. This doc gets 10/10, it was brilliant.
💯 agree 👏👏👏👏👏
she was also extremely picky, and you didn't get the other side of the story from her divorced husband.
@@PlateletRichGel she has every right to be picky when choosing her LIFE PARTNER. She is the entire package, she deserves a guy with equivalent attributes.
@@VictoriaGirlBC she has no "right" to be this way, She chooses to be too picky, as the matchmaker told her, and as I understand it she's alone. Marriage is not about waiting for the mythical perfect person who checkss all the perfect boxes, it's about willing to change yourself, not the other person. If one looks for the perfect person and waits for them, they'll be like Merav.
@@PlateletRichGel I don’t believe she’s looking for perfection, she’s unwilling to compromise on her three fundamental requirements. I completely understand, that’s her prerogative.

This is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in my life and about this topic. I can see dating is also complicated among haredims. Hats off to the director.
Imagine having to marry someone you just met, have a football team worth of children with him, take care of all of the kids and the house, and work to earn all of the money so he can just read the same religious texts all day long. 😂
Obviously designed by a man
No...... simple no.....I will give my heart to God...........but not my entire life’s effort to man
What a culture! An eye opener. The men don't work. The women have to work to take care of the men. All the men do is read the torah all year long
Sounds like a nightmare!
@@justincase7848 but i read that these men who read the torah all day and not work are a real burden on israel. which i believe as its just like having a high number of unemployed. reading wont feed and house you
So, let me see if I got it right;
If you instantly fall in love, it’s not love.
You have maximum three dates to decide how the rest of your life will be.
Soul and religion is most important, yet the first thing these guys ask about, is how the woman looks.
The dudes study the Torah all day, so who will feed the kids? Who will pay the rent?
A divorced woman is damaged goods, but what is a divorced man? A god?
You got it right. Crazy stuff. How to destroy your life in the minimum amount of time.
well Judaism and religion that emerged from are derogatory to women most religions dont fall behind much but with modernization they changed that all
Just wait until you learn what's in the Talmud
Romantic love is a very recent requirement for marriage. Outside of the West and in past times most marriages are arranged and more of a societal and economic undertaking rather than one of personal fulfillment.
@@uschurch their is nothing wrong with arranged marriage but concept of concidering a women damaged or second hand just because she is a divorcee is determental and just because it happened for ages doesn't make it right
I love how honest they are while dating- it’s so refreshing seeing people out their true wants and needs on the table right away
Amen 🙏 ✡️✡️
I didn't think cooking was important until I dated a girl who could really cook. After that I was like "my wife has to be a good cook." The other thing is not boring and not a dummy. So I'm single. lol.
They have to. They only get 3 dates. Those dates are only 30 - 45 mins long each.
Incredibly immature to decide the person you want as a match for life in only three days! Like silly teens that only want to get married and not to do the actual work of getting to really know another human being and comprehend what goals and needs she/ha has!
They have a very direct way of dating. I love it. They communicate the most important things first, then just marry.
I envy them. They are not missing anything marrying young and not dating around for years. I eventually got married, but the road getting there was brutal.

I'd suffer greatly in a culture like this
Don't worry, you'll die alone or with whatever loser will settle for you
Agreed. They don't want a wife that challenges them to improve themselves and their relationships with God and other people. A marriage is a give and take, with both spouses being able to communicate and form a friendship with each other.
The second guy was not like that !
Come on, you can't see who really runs the show, makes the decisions?
I’m sorry, but did you MISS how incredibly OPINIONATED and independent these women are?!? There is absolutely no evidence of repression! These women live in an open country. They’re around the most secular of people. They CHOOSE their own path in life, and what it is they want. It seems as though you’d suffer greatly in any “culture” or society.
I enjoyed this video so much. It’s so interesting to see how different cultures, religion and people live their lives. With an open heart, God bless.
I wish there were more episodes of this! This is the most interesting and fascinating doc I’ve watched in a long time.

There is sooooo much more to married life than sex.
This is what religious cults can do to a loving mother...she'd rather her daughter be rushed into an unhappy marriage than be sure and "touch" her fiancé !!!
@@cattycorner8 of course but without sexual chemistry it's NOT a marriage but a sibling relationship.... no thanks.

This is the exact same tradition in arab communities 🤣
Especially the limited dates. It's a huge no no to keep dating whilst nothing is official
Only difference is the man prefers the wife not to work, and also the man doesnt study the religion all day, instead they go out to work because they're the breadwinners of the household.
So Israel are breeding the best woman in the world, good to know!
Because I think you're opinion is very stereotypical, doesn't explain much of the whole process, arab dating and marriage is based on islamic tradition, it doesn't work like that
You're wrong about the number of dates, you can have as many dates as you want but you should have a chaperon with you at all times, once you get engaged you're a bit more free and you can remain engaged for how long you want, I've seen couples be engaged for 5 years before marriage.
@@emoticonfeliz2129
I'm indeed arab, Lebanese actually.
Shalom.

Wow, "Do you see yourself as the breadwinner so your husband can study?" I've lived in Jerusalem, but was never aware that the Ultra Orthodox expected their wives to bear a shitton of children, cover their hair, not be ALLOWED to study in the same way men do - A N D support them. The dates seem so stilted and awkward. I think I'd be terrified to marry someone after only 2-3 of those.....

Who hath believed our report ? For and to whom is the arm of Lord revealed ?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath
No form nor comeliness ; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a men of sorrows , and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our grief , and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, and he was
all .
He was oppressed , and he was afflicted , yet he opened not his mouth : he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter , and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openers not his mouth.
He was taken from prison
From judgment: and who shall declare this generation? For
He was cut off out of the land of the living: for he was cutting off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence , neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him ; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin he shall see his seed , he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul , and shall be satisfied : by
His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many ; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore Will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the spoil with the strong ; because he hath pored out his soul unto death : and he was numbered with the transgressor ; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Esty's mother is quite the master manipulator. She must be exhausting to be around.
I thought the same thing... I feel bad for all her children.
She was raised to behave that way and probably saw her parents doing the same thing. It goes back for who knows how many generations.
She is horrible. OMG! Crying? Her daughter is 18 for frick’s sake. She needs to STFU
She will probably cause many divorces because her sons and daughers in law won't be able to stand all her manipulation.
I can’t believe she’s crying over something so stupid! She’s being completely irrational! I’m exhausted just watching her.
"Too many dates are unhealthy!" Yeah, because committing your life to someone you only know for like 2 hours is perfectly healthy...

@@Србомбоница86 Exactly! Society functioned just fine haha, contrary to popular belief a man and woman can actually be quite happy going into a marriage blind. Hookup culture and dating is such a recent phenomenon
@@blackhole-chan4619 sorry but saying that "back in the days blind marriages worked fine" is a blatant lie. I can't imagine myself commiting my life to a narcissistic/sociopathic/manipulative/liar/stupid/cheater/lazy/dirty/horrible in bed person (such things are not obvious even after weeks, months, or years), or to someone who differs from me in everything. We MUST know what traits we're (not) looking for in a long-term partner.
That young man has a serious love affair going with himself.
