No other online vegan chef has your language, when it comes to describing flavors! You really know how to ‘sell it’. I end up making more of your recipes than any of the others I see. They not only look tasty, they are beautiful and not overly complicated. Made your smokey chili oil for a friend for Christmas last year. They have advised me that they will not accept anything else…EVER! Haha. 🌶️
The way of filming, the support with your voice, the recipe itself... Dear Will, the whole video makes my mouth water! I'm going to make it again. Thanks Will! 👌👍
Chef Yeung has skillfully created another scrumptious, healthy and beautiful dish. There isn’t one ingredient in his recipes I don’t like; this meal isn’t labor intensive if one thinks of it as a work of art, filling the canvas of your healthy body. Thank you, chef, for another magnificent, very healthy and tasty bowl of goodness.
I know you hear this all the time 😊 but i had a can of chick peas all ready to make today with rice and kale (my go-to) when your beautiful recipe arrived! I had most of the ingredients and made this dish - it is fantastic and thanks to you, and following your impeccable instructions, I can make this elegant dish! Thanks, Wil, you're the best! 🥰🥣🍚🥑🥥
This looks amazing but I don't see in the video or recipe when the lemongrass is added. Should it be cooked with the onion and galangal? Or added with the garlic? Thanks!
Hello!! I'm a new viewer/subscriber.... but wanted to say "Thank You!" for the wonderful videos!!! I've only seen a few episodes, but am HIGHLY impressed!!! I am looking forward to trying some of these for myself, and since I read cookbooks like novels, I'll DEFINITELY be checking out your offerings!!! This is going to be so much FUN!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!'🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏😁
I can already taste the flavors 😊 after 5 years of cooking with you I finally also bought the printed copies of your cookbooks 🎉 And they will definitely be the most loved ones in my kitchen. You never ever disappointed in any recipe! Good measures, ingredients that can usually be found, amazing variety of flavors, ... I'm most excited for the ramen cookbook, as I literally made all of them with my phone to look up the recipe 😅 Thanks for your ongoing inspiration and giving confidence in cooking!!!
I’m Mexican and watch your videos while cooking Mexican food 😅 I LOVE Asian food and make the occasional fried rice or veggies but omg I’m so intimidated by these delicious recipes 🧑🍳😘
Made this for dinner tonight! Another hit. Particularly enjoyed how unique the flavour profile was and was a fun way to have chickpeas. Agree that the avocado tied the dish together and the toasted peanuts and coconut added a nice crunch. Another flavourful recipe I would happily make again. Look forward to your weekly dishes. Thanks Wil!
The flavor is both rich and refreshing, and it's very easy to make. I really love the combination of ginger, lemongrass, and coconut, which creates a very distinctive taste.
Hiya 🙋🏻♂️ Excited for you to try this one out 😁 Water chestnut sounds like a great addition. Which ingredient were you thinking of swapping it out for?
Thank you for this recipe. I was delighted with the unusual flavour of the sauce, it's different to anything else I have tried. This now takes prime position in my weekly menu.
This recipe was fantastic. It was simple, inexpensive, and didn't create much dishes. My local grocery store doesn't have Galangal but it was worth the trip to the asian market to get it. Thank you for the great recipe.
I enjoy your style of teaching us. I am making this recipe with you and so far it is amazing. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. I haven't tried making your chili sauce yet. It is on my list to make. Cheers!
I'm a health nut and always try to get more beans in my meals but I rarely see beans used in Asian foods. I love this combination of Asian flavors and legumes! Thanks again, Will!
Love your recipes and their presentation, and have recommended your channel to many friends and family. The only difficulty here is that living in a more rural area I can not get lemon grass, many of the peppers you use, galangal, and even sriracha, and whole spices such as coriander seeds, cumin seeds, etc. Though I can’t exactly replicate some recipes, as a good and innovative cook, I make delicious compromises using your original recipe for inspiration. Great fun and great food.
My old phone had a major malfunction and I lost all of my TH-cam subscriptions & playlists etc. I work full-time and stay busy so I haven't had much free time to look for your channel on my new phone but happy to find your channel again!!!!
Your recipes are wonderful and delicious! I have prepared some of them. And I will prepare this one for our family. Just one recommendation, if you use some rare ingredients, tell us what we can replace them with or just not add. Of course, the taste will change, but still... Lemongrass can be replaced with lemon zest? Thank you!❤
I really love to fill up my meals with salad or lots of veggies. Apart from the avocado, what other veggies could go well in this dish? Thx so much for sharing
So lucky in England my weekly organic veg box delivery includes organic fresh lemon grass, grown in Spain. Can’t live without it. Lovely also with beetroot in a fresh healthy juice.
Looks delicious. I need to make a trip down to the Asian grocery store. It’s been a while since I have been there and I always find some great vines there. Thank you so much for sharing.❤❤❤😋😋😋
OMG!!! This recipe is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo delicious! It will be a regular in my rotation of meals. Thanks for sharing so many amazing recipes 😀
This looks delicious! I will try it. I have dried galangal - do you think it would change the flavor profile too much if I use it instead of fresh galangal? I'll also sub slivered almonds for peanuts. Thank you for this recipe!
Oh my, that bowl looks delicious and the wooden spatula looks like my wooden gumbo spoon. I have lovingly made many Gumbos, and my wooden Spoon shows my work.
Looks incredible, will try for sure. One question, though; when you bake the chickpeas in the oven, are they supposed to come out crunchy like peanuts, or still soft and chewy? Also, did I miss when the lemongrass needs to get added to the sauce? Much appreciated!
They are kind of both, they have a bit of a crunchy outer layer but still semi soft on the inside. Adds a nice texture to the dish. Yes! It is now updated in the directions 🤦🏻♂️ Along with the onions and galangal
❤ I am really appreciating the chick pea recipes. I have an unnecessary amount of dried chickpeas and one can only eat so much hummus!😂 Also, I guess I'm making more chili oil for my girls as gifts this year. As gardeners, they grew having a great appreciation for Eastern dishes, as they lend themselves well for home grown meals. They love the chili oil. ❤
So Wil, thank you for this and all your other recipes you are sharing with us here! They all look amazing - and taste delicious! I do love your calm and straightforward instructions and enthusiasm for homemade meals. Let me ask a few things though, as one of the viewers and fans, who is dealing with a few restrictions. ( I personally, as a cooking enthusiast, - who always practices and trying to learn new things, can manage, - but maybe some are hard to overcome, but would love to enjoy your cooking and recipes. ) 1. Your chili oil is a wonderful creation for so many ways to add, develop flavor, but for those, who cannot manage the heat, or cook for children, elderly or with digestive issues, please give a “ lighter” alternative , where the flavor profile, might be similar or very close, without loosing the wonderful complexity of your dish, but lacks the extra heat.😊 ( Or can be added at their own discretion and tolerance of 👅 tastebuds/ tummy ) 2. When sugar or other natural sweetener is necessary to balance all the ingredients and complete a dish/ sauce, please suggest sugarless alternatives! There are millions of people in North America ( USA, Canada and I’m sure out of this range of your viewers) who might have dietary restrictions, or simply want to cut back on sugar consumption. Please, think about them! They all still would love to enjoy your recipes. Some are probably very resourceful, or willing to experiment, some prefer an other person’s trusted guidance, like you, to make sure, the outcome is still a successful, tasty dish! 😊 3. I know, and understand, that these recipes are traditionally or by your choice, and because of your culture and heritage are often paired with rice. 🍚 ( Or some forms of yummy noodles 😋) With respect to that, and not to change the integrity of your recipes, I humbly suggest, and ask if you would please consider providing some alternative options for the “starch” part of these dishes? What OTHER TYPES of grains, noodles ( brown rice, rice noodles , soba etc…) or just simple vegetables would work well with the recipe? That might help people with several dietary restrictions/ needs to still happily try, enjoy your recipes and be long term members of your ever growing community of enthusiastic fans! Thank you ! 🙏 🫶🫶🫶
I'd love to make this, but am allergic to nightshades. What substitutions would you suggest for the paprika, chilli oil, and cayenne pepper to add a nice flavour profile? I'd love to see you do some recipes without nightshades. I love your style but there aren't many recipes of yours I can make without a lot of changes.
Question - It looks delicious! How spicy is the dish? If someone can’t eat anything spicy would this work? If not, is there a suggestion to make it less spicy?

How many servings in this recipe?
does this have. a lot of 'heat', or not?

Made your smokey chili oil for a friend for Christmas last year. They have advised me that they will not accept anything else…EVER! Haha. 🌶️
You are too kind and that’s so awesome! You’re a great friend for making that for them! 🙌🏻

Amazing!
Plus the music
...
It changed my mood to nostalgic.❤
This looks amazing but I don't see in the video or recipe when the lemongrass is added. Should it be cooked with the onion and galangal? Or added with the garlic? Thanks!
Whoops! Indeed it should be added along with the onions and galangal 🙂 good catch!
@YEUNGMANCOOKING Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply and great recipe!
Thanks!
Wowza! You are the bestest! 🙌🏻🤩

Hello. Love to watch you cook. I will finally try a recipe. This recipe! Can I use water chestnuts instead of the other ingredient?
Hiya 🙋🏻♂️ Excited for you to try this one out 😁 Water chestnut sounds like a great addition. Which ingredient were you thinking of swapping it out for?
Thank you for this recipe.
I was delighted with the unusual flavour of the sauce, it's different to anything else I have tried.

It really is a flavor bomb! 💥
I'm a health nut and always try to get more beans in my meals but I rarely see beans used in Asian foods. I love this combination of Asian flavors and legumes! Thanks again, Will!

Could I make it without the coconut cream? What else would I adjust? Thanks, this looks so good.

Lay ho lay ho, Will! So beautiful and easy! I will have that on my lunch or dinner table very soon. I am hungry already! Huge thanks! ❤🙏🌹

Your recipes are wonderful and delicious! I have prepared some of them. And I will prepare this one for our family. Just one recommendation, if you use some rare ingredients, tell us what we can replace them with or just not add. Of course, the taste will change, but still... Mmm making this for dinner tomorrow - lemongrass is the best!!! Very underrated! ❤ thank you for this amazing video and recipe 🙏🏽
You got it! 🙌🏻
I really love to fill up my meals with salad or lots of veggies. Apart from the avocado, what other veggies could go well in this dish? Thx so much for sharing
Maybe some roasted sweet potatoes, sautéed green beans, or mushrooms.
Amazing chef.
All your dishes look delicious.
I already love it, galango not easy to find and have to make chilly oil before enjoying this savoury recipe 🌞
So lucky in England my weekly organic veg box delivery includes organic fresh lemon grass, grown in Spain. Can’t live without it. Lovely also with beetroot in a fresh healthy juice.

❤❤❤HI Chef I wish I could order some of these meal fresh straight to my door. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I will definitely have to try this. Looks amazing.
This looks delicious! I will try it. I have dried galangal - do you think it would change the flavor profile too much if I use it instead of fresh galangal? I'll also sub slivered almonds for peanuts. Thank you for this recipe!
Just keep in mind that fresh galangal will pack a bigger flavour punch than dried. Happy cooking 🙌🏻
@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thank you.
This looks so delicious. I definitely have to make this. ❤

Chef! If we have a peanut allergy….what would you recommend as a substitute!😊
Thanks for the awesome recipe. 😊
My pleasure! 🎉
I do make chicken peas and rice . You added some interesting ingredients . Going to try this for sure ❤
Hope you enjoy 🙌🏻
As always thank you for a delicious recipe.
You are most welcome! 🙏

Not very! Could always try without the cayenne and use a preferred cooking oil (instead of chili oil).
@ thanks..
Absolutely beautiful and yummy looking 😋😋🥰
This was absolutely delicious. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Made this tonight for dinner, delicious!
Wonderful to hear 🙌🏻😎

Looks delicious, but when do you add the lemon grass?
Hiya 🙋🏻♂️ Great eye! It’s updated now and is added in step 3 (along with the onions and galangal)
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thank you!
Simply beautiful 💚😋👏👏👏👏👏
yummm, I hope I can find those less common ingredients near me. This dish looks awesome.
