I have a video somewhere on my channel where I test ejector springs with a special tester I made, Colts read 10.5#, Sprinco only 9.5# at "FULL" compression. Full compression is not whats shown in the Marine Corp manual. Yes they are the same spring, selector and ejector. A couple of times I thought I saw brass thrown way out and then one after that just dribbled out. But I was half asleep.
The ejection was inconsistent and close to a fail on occasion but squeaked by most of the time! I just put a new video up where I think I may have found the issue. Wish I had the means to test compression force. Maybe that's my next adventure!
@@peteregger7928 Just tested, Colt 27 coils measured 10.9 #s, Sprinco with 27 coils 9.9#, removed 3 coils from each, Colt read 8#, Sprinco 7.8#, thats almost 30%. What scares me was how easy it was to cut thru thru the sprinco spring, like cutting thru butter with little effort using Blue Point safety wire pliars with a super sharp cutter. I couldnt believe it cut that easy. The Colt spring made of Music wire was much harder to cut requiring a lot more effort. I would not use this chrome silicone corrosion sprinco trash lol, all SOTAR hype. I wouldn't even use them for the safety lol. Will throw up a video later tonight.
I think I may have found the issue! Just now put a new video up showing some ejector spring differences between what was installed on the WC's and some Sprinco's. Another trip to the range soon!
Now I’m wondering about Wilson bcg’s. The extractor broke on my Wilson 458 upper. Yes, I know there’s an extra wide cut to accommodate the 458 rim. But still….
I have other WC BCG's and have had no issues so far. I suspect something is going on with the ejector on this one and hope to find out for sure. BCG's that I will never use again are ToolCraft and Aero Precision. Been wanting to try a BCM as I have seen very few people ever talking about issues with those. Not sure about your extractor but on the 5.56 WC phosphate they at one time listed the extractor as S7 tool steel. They no longer state that in their description or specs or even mention what the material is.

@@peteregger7928 Im now motivated to test a Colt, Sprinco, and then cut 3 coils off each and see how much difference it is.
@@ar-15techtipsinunder5minut8 I'd like to see that! Do it! Do it now! Lol! 😁

@@ar-15techtipsinunder5minut8 This is great info! Looking forward to your video! Thanks!
Hope You Figure It Out So The Next Video is Accuracy Testing and Shooting Some Steel Cans At 100 Yards Pete 😀😊😀

I'm checking my springs!
I'm sure whoever is making them for WC is supplying them to other companies as well. Not just firearms! It's everything nowadays!

@@peteregger7928 I replaced it with an extractor from Brownells.
Bought 2 of em just in case.
Hoping this at least helps
Pretty sure I just found the issue! New video incoming!
