you need to do the test when your old oil is new as well. this doesn't tell us much when one oil is at the end of its life and one is new.
i use Liqui Moly Molygen on my Cayman, I literally heard the difference. my car runs much smoother and less engine noise.
Yup, the Liquimoly Molygen does lessen the engine noise by reducing friction inside the engine, Some people doesn't know about the engine noise test I did on the video, They think is BS, They don't understand that by reducing noise the friction inside the engine is much less.

I have a Cayman as well, but I use Mobil 1 full synthetic + MoS2 additive. 115k mi, and zero leaks or consumption.
Al my cars runs rough and sluggish with the Mobil 1 oil !
Hold the jugs sideways when you pour for smoother flow--no chugging :)
The advise that you don't need to add an additives, and that it upsets the balance of the oil,
Applies to ALL engine oils.
@edcardiy congrats and thanks for share your experience. So far your what can you say about development for consumption? It's keeping less the average or established as before?
The other point I want ask you is: I noticed the difference between two averages in your test ~20km/h, how it was contributed for the best performance?
Thank you again, greetings from Brazil to you!
Your support means the world to me! Thank you for tuning in from Brazil.
Gas consumption is still better with Molygen, Performance wise, Acceleration was improved and also a much quieter engine because of less internal friction. Thanks for watching!!!👍
will the 21225 LIQUI MOLY Molygen New Generation DPF work good on my bmw 640d ?
Thanks for doing this. It will be interesting to see if you can tell it's green when you change it.
Thanks for the comment, The green doesn't last long, I think the color green last only for couple of 100km, Maybe?
That's is why you have limited time to find the oil leak after the oil change.

Whatever Ed said was perfect. The green dye doesn't last for more than a couple 100 kilometres.
I once tried the Special Tec AA 5w20 in my Nissan Rogue. It is one of the many more modern vehicles that is direct injected and this stuff is formulated with that in mind. In particular the part formulated for direct injected engines is a different anti wear additive less likely to contribute to low speed preignition which is a common problem in direct injected engines. I would use it again and am thinking of getting it again for my vehicle. I may even try the Molygen 5w20. Before I got the Nissan I had a 2013 Passat with the 2.5. I really liked that car but I was afraid it was developing a transmission problem and got rid of it before it is too late. The Nissan was my mothers and she had passed away and that was a good chance for me to take it as mine. It is a 2017 Rogue Sport. It comes with the 2 liter rather than the 2.5 in other models. At times it is easy to realize it is just 141 HP. Without the CVT that would be a lot more obvious as more people leave me in their dust!!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Special Tec AA 5w20 in your Nissan Rogue. It's great to hear that it worked well for you!
Thanks for watching!!!👍
Thats a significant fuel consuption difference, im suprrised by that.
I'm also surprised to see the result, That's 1.5 liter of gas savings per 100km, I'm really happy that I switched to Molygen motor oil.

Nice one kuya 🤘🏼
Salamat sa suporta!!!👍
Subscribed. Im curious ss to the ppm zinc content of Molygen, and does it contain group 4 PAO. and some easter group 5 ?, or is this pure group 3 ?
Thanks, About all the details of chemical properties of this Molygen oil, I have to get back to you on that. Thanks for watching!!!
@@edcardiy thank you
Nice video.
Thanks for the comment, I really do appreciate it.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
Since this oil is expensive to import in the USA I use Mobile 1 or Supertech (both equally good oils depends which one is in stock) and mix in the Liqui Molly additive.
I think you will have the same result with additives like Ceratec or MoS2 from Liquimoly if added to any motor oil.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
Liquimoly is reasonably priced at napa auto parts, especially when you buy online. Just picked up a bunch for my Matrix and supra for like 36 bucks /5L
Hi sir.
You held the phone slightly farther away from the engine after the oil change, this isn't a good test for quietness. sound disperses with distance. even 6 - 12 inches of differential in distance or even angle of the microphone can affect the dB level.
For how many miles is the change interval on this oil, can’t find the specific longevity
I usually change my oil at 5000km or up to 8000km, It doesn't matter what oil brand name, I don't go more than that. Thanks for watching!!!👍
Change every 3-5k miles
I always used mobile 1 0w40 for my 6.4 never lesson lifters noise for long time, after using liquimoly 5w40 for couple mileage i lesson alot noise from my engine 🙃🙃
Lessen noise means reduced friction inside your engine, Liquimoly Molygen is doing it's job.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
@edcardiy pro this oil ruined my engine 😅😅
fuel consumption measurement isn't accurate!!!
you did longer journey and higher speed after changing the oil!
you gotta make the same test as the first run
OVERALL liqui moly oils are good
Thanks for the comment, Yes, speed and distance is a bit different, because it all depends on the traffic and speed of cars on the road, But thanks for noticing it.

if the 2nd run was faster drive it should be heavier on fuel.
I have a question: regarding oil temperature, is there any difference?
Sorry but I don't have any oil temp gauge on my dashboard to compare temperature reading, I think I have only a warning light that lights up when temps gets to high.
More DIY & Mods coming soon, Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and Thanks for watching!!!👍
From my experience on an E46 330xi, switching to Liqui-Moly Leichtlauf High Tech 5w-40 from the OEM BMW oil lowered the max oil temp by 10-15° C. The difference when switching to Molygen 5w-40 is less noticeable, maybe another 5° C.
All in all, max oil temp (spirited driving) with BMW oil: 127° C, with Molygen 105-115° C.
@@edcardiy Ok, thanks!
@@20lffd, thank you for your support! Great information!
What kind of oil was in the car before Liqui Moly ?
Castrol Synthetic 5w40, Thanks for watching!!!👍
How old was the original oil that you swapped out?
The original oil that I drained was about only 1500km to 2000km old, I really want to try this Molygen oil, that is why I don't mind replacing my barely new oil in my engine.
But you can see on the video that it is better than my original Castrol Edge 5w40.

@@edcardiy follow up after the current oil is 2000km old and look at fuelconsuption. 👍
can i use it for petrol- lpg 1.8tsi??
Yes, just buy the same grade of oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
thank you very much. I live in Greece and the temperatures here in summer reach +40 c. I put 5w40 because 5w30 disappearsfrom tsi engine 🤪
Liquimoly user din ako sir .mganda tlga sir
Ok naman ang Liquimoly, Maganda talagang oil yan, Buti naman at nagustuhan mo ang video ko.
Salamat!!!👍
All engines sound quieter with new oil. It is not brand specific
Liqui Moly for the win, if you can find it.
I agree, this Liquimoly does make a big difference, I will try to use this brand as much as I can, I usually buy them online.

Is this a PAO base stock synthetic? Can this compete with Amsoil Signature series. And or Mobil 1 Extended performance
can i add liquimoly oil stop to it?
Thanks for the comment, Sorry but I don't understand the question.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
@@edcardiy liquimoly has a oil additive called oil stop that swells up o rings etc
I didn't find Liquimoly oil stop, I found Liquimoly motor oil saver, it swells up rubber & plastic seals.
If you want to use liquimoly oil saver, then just add it on regular synthetic oil from liquimoly instead of the molygen oil, Liquimoly doesn't recommend adding additives on molygen oil.
@@edcardiy oh ok thanks
Liquimoly really put serious money in marketing. the oil in that green bottle is not even full synthetic. Wonder why they keep using the term 'HC oil' and afraid of calling them 'group 3 oil'.
Maybe? But the bottle says Fully Synthetic, I don't think they will lie about this kind of things.
More DIY & Mods coming soon, Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and Thanks for watching!!!👍
@@edcardiy It's true. This is not a real fully syntehtic oil. The difinition of fully syntehtic depends on the country/region. The US allows manuafturers to put "Fully Synthetic" on the bottle even if it's a hydrocracked oil (very refined tho) and can NOT be marketed in Europe as fully synthetic. BUT in this case they actually don't state even for the US that it's fully synthehtic (At least on their webpage!) they say it's made with "Synthetic Technology" which is Europe is not considered Fully Shynthetic, so they came up with the "Synthetic Technology" marketing thing. LM has only 2 car angine oils in the US market (according thir webpage) which are really Fully Synthetic: "Synthoil Race Tech GT1" and "Synthoil Energy A40".
It’s fully synthetic, this is crazy talk
yea, and it is also heavily advertised by influencers. In USA, only Redline or Amsoil Signature is worth it for an enthusiast or motorsport activity car. Motul 300 V for pure track car only.
@@LoveLikeaHurricanebut I get my replacements free from FCP. Free oil for life!
I use the blue one for my Honda, seems like a decent oil
The blue bottle engine oil from liquimoly is also a full synthetic oil (good oil), almost the same with molygen oil except without the additives (tungsten & molybdenum).
More DIY & Mods coming soon, Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and Thanks for watching!!!👍
I didnt want to use it cuz they say the additives will sink and make some sludge in the engine or whatever@@edcardiy
@@user-zv5ub5ib7lwho's "they"?😂 I bolster my arguments by saying "everybody says". "They" are the voice of reason, the reason you shouldn't comment off your meds.👏👏🤣🤷
@@user-zv5ub5ib7l you're confusing additives with engine flush liquids
Does diesel motor likes this oil ?
Liquimoly also have Diesel motor oil, This Molygen is not for diesel motor.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
Only if you deleted your dpf
add Ceratec....
Adding Ceratec is not recommended by Liquimoly, Molygen oil are already balanced design by Liquimoly, No additives needed.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
@@edcardiy good to know. I usually use regular Moly oil with Ceratec and it works like charm
Probably it's ok, But for me I would be afraid that if it's too slippery inside the engine, it might loosen up something in there and create problem in my engine.
@@Iwo26 Molygen as ceratec into it, that's why it's not recommended
if you like Liqui Moly you are going to Like Amsoil Eurpeon formula even better. Its a even better oil.
Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind and Thanks for watching!!!👍
You said you’re trying “this new oil. “. It’s not new. It’s been around for a while.
He said in quotes “new to me”
Amsoil would likely beat it in real tests.
Probably, Thanks for watching!!!👍
Used this oil since I got my car . Got it used with 42k miles and changed it every 5k miles with molygen . Don’t cheap out on your 29.99 oil change cause the oil does matter
Oil does not matter. I've been running antifreeze as motor oil for the last 400k miles no problems thus far.
I'd never add anything to any oil, additives are BS.
Well with this oil (molygen) you don't need additives, it's already mixed in by liquimoly.
More DIY & Mods coming soon, Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and Thanks for watching!!!👍
Expensive oil
Almost same price as the branded synthetic motor oil (castrol, mobil 1, quaker state). But it's worth it, because of less friction & better gas mileage.
Thanks for watching!!!👍
If you think that is expensive,
Wait until you find out how much Amsoil is...
What about adding eg Ceratec or Ceramizator or Ceramizer ? The little 10ml tube
Liqui Moly says do not use ceratec, it competes with the tungsten
Anyone no how AMSOIL signature series compares to liqui moly molygen new generation I’m considering liqui moly cous it’s alittle cheaper like $20 for a full 5 quarts
Both AMSOIL Signature Series and Liqui Moly Molygen New Generation are high-quality engine oils. It's always a good idea to do some research and read reviews to see which one suits your needs and preferences better.
More DIY & Mods coming soon, Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and Thanks for watching!!!👍
base stock (group4) requires a specific price. Once you see enough oils in that price range, you will realize the quality. The group3 or lower stocks require more additives to make up for the poorer stock quality. If it is only $20 for 5 quarts, you can tell what class of oil it is just based on price. If you are changing it at 3000 miles anyway, it don't matter. Oil quality should also based on your priorities. If you want the best of the best for a high performance daily/motorsport severe duty type vehicle, only Redline or Amsoil Signature will do at least in USA.
@@LoveLikeaHurricane According to "Project farm" who did an oil comparison test a few years ago,
Amsoil came first, followed by Pennzoil.
In general here in Australia,
Amsoil is typically double the price of other high spec oils.
For example in the 5W30 range:
Amsoil signature series for 4.726L the cost is $174.90 AUD which is $116.34 USD (at todays rates)
For 5 litres of Molygen the cost is $94.99 AUD (full retail) which is $63.44 USD (at todays rates)
