Whatever man, it is just my opinion. I like many journey songs and they don't have the best music videos, we all know that. I just believe that this may be the best one out of all of the music videos to any other journey songs. I wasn't going to reply, but this keeps popping up in my google+ notifacations so I decided too. There is my answer and please no more harm is intended or needed. My opinion. Thank you for the comment though. Have a nice day and rock on with some good tunes broski!
This song still absolutely f****** shreds all these years later. Steve Perry had some pipes, but that riff is a lot heavier than I think a lot of people realize.
This is the song that i usually play in my playlist when im sad and in the brink of depression and suicide, to remind me that we have the power to help each other in a way that no can understand, we can stand for our brother and sister in their darkest time and they need a light of hope, we can raise our shields and protect our beloved ones from the danger that this world thrown at us. We can help, we can the pillar of hope that the last ones need, we can be the light at the end of other dark tunnels, we can make the difference. Thanks for this this masterful work of art, thanks to remind us, mortal humans, that we are capable of immense good things to make this world a better one
I was 17 in 1983 and this video was on heavy rotation on MTV and the song was everywhere from radio to the malls to skateparks to pools to cars....... An incredible song from an incredible group.
Almost 40 now, been listening to this song since I was a kid. The simple lyric "Someday love will find you, break those chains that bind you" always give me hope for better times.
I agree to that - Arnel is a good musician, but he "makes" music. With Steve Perry it is like the music got paint and in every song you can see the spectrum of different colours in different strenghts - means Steve Perry is a singer! The first song from Perry was like a flash for me because his voice fits so well to the music and with the musical level of his Band members. Jouney still makes good music today, but the can't reach the level of quality they had in the past
@@Epic_R3K47 the 80’s were the greatest!!! There will NEVER be another decade like them. I feel lucky to have been able to experience that decade as a teenager.
Believe it, or not, earlier this evening, I was in a venue & the chorus of this song, being played through the audio system, was speaking to me loud & clear. I'm sure that I had never heard it before, even though I was familiar with Journey's big hit "Don't Stop Believing." Within the hour, I had met a man that I found quite attractive, & with whom I had a really interesting conversation. As it happens, he works in... wait for it.., wait for it... shipping. Really. Mr.Meeseeks Piano , lol, I thought you meant “cringe”, as to draw back in fear, pain or disgust @this video? So I applied the term to describe much of TODAY’s music.
We sometimes forget to acknowledge the music that has been a part of us, and has helped us heal, encourage us, and most of all, keep us believing that we can get through whatever the future holds.
70s was a new generation of musicians coexisting with with first generation rockers. Music was highly competitive, with everyone trying to forge a unique identity and talent was still a necessity to get exposure. Most of the '80s' everyone loves is from the early/mid 80s and started in the 70s. By the 90s, democratization of recording and pressing tech(home computers and CD burners, broke the talent barrier. Nirvana might be the worst thing to happen to music. While Ill admit Cobain was definitely a legit artist, he had very little talent. Nirvana's popularity and particularly 'Teen Spirit' set a precedent that talent was no longer required, just a hook. You may recall the dozen or so bands that blew up in the 90s that were practically indistinguishable from each other and every one a Nirvana knockoff. The problem only got worse as better and better music and recording gear became available to anyone with a part time summer job. I digress a little, but the 'good gear' is what has brought us to the state of music today. When I was starting out, there were few options available for affordable gear, so you got what you could and you developed a style that sounded good with it. Now, you can sound like whomever you want, so you turn a knob/click a button/select from a menu and copy your favorite musician.
I'm 47 and I was a little girl when I first started to grow up early in the 80's going to school and I remember listening to them since they've always been one of my favorite bands growing up!
Same here. I was 9 years old in 1983 when this epic song came out. Growing up in L.A ("the Valley") was an awesome time. There was a radio station back then called, "Magic 106 " FM, which much later became "Power 106" and lost their flair for good rock and roll when they introduced crap hip hop in the 90s. Anyway, they would play this song repeatedly over the airwaves. We never got enough of it. Oh the good ole' days of growing up in the 80s . . . the times, the memories, the music.
Well, I think the concept is a fantasy on what an infatuated kid from the eighties would do to take revenge thru music (while keeping his dignity). Let her go, she loses.

so many people hate on this video. It has everything, vocals, keyboard, bass, guitar, drums, harmony, air punching. but a keyboard on the wall man? complete.
The keyboard on the wall KILLS it. Just takes the ridiculousness to the next level.
It’s hilarious!
Mike Johnson hell yeah bro...
"Air punching" 😆
its the best ever video of a fucking best ever song. I play on my mind all day
YESS
67 and loving Steve Perry and Journey.
A cheap video with great talent, is better than any video they'll make today.
True 👌
I doubt anyone will be searching for Beyonce videos in 2050.
Lady Gaga, maybe, but those things are special.
Soooo ture! Respect
not it's not xD and this is the exact proof of that, this stinks
JC 1 true but is not cheap! This was before what we’re used to today
Just makes you want to sing along all the time. Beautiful song. One of my all time favourites. Classic. Steve 👍
I'm STILL jealous of the fun these guys have in 80's videos!
Best times ever to be in your late teens early 20s for sure🥰🥰! Went too fast!
@anna-xp6eh soo fast
I wish I was alive in this era
Fun? They hated making fools of themselves in these videos that they were forced to make, pay for, and had no real input creatively.

Imo, Dont Stop Believin IS NOT BETTER THAN THIS MASTERPIECE. PERIOD.
Wake up with this in my head many mornings …. say it all really - a classic and legendary tune

Best Journey Song out there and Best Journey Music Video out there. My opinion. No hate intended. Any one agree though?
Whatever man, it is just my opinion. I like many journey songs and they don't have the best music videos, we all know that. I just believe that this may be the best one out of all of the music videos to any other journey songs. I wasn't going to reply, but this keeps popping up in my google+ notifacations so I decided too. There is my answer and please no more harm is intended or needed. My opinion. Thank you for the comment though. Have a nice day and rock on with some good tunes broski!
Jake Galla "No hate intended"

Jake Galla Best Journey song? I'd say best song ever. Best music video? Nah. This video sucks major balls. But the song is plain perfection.

Jake Galla there is "nothing" wrong with this video! Such a great song!!

This song still absolutely f****** shreds all these years later. Steve Perry had some pipes, but that riff is a lot heavier than I think a lot of people realize.
That riff needs it's own video ;) epic
Agree

Especially for the time
*i put on some classic Journey and everything seems so much better!*
Benny The Man hell yeah!!!!
it takes me back to san antonio texas, circa 1983, the sun ,the highway , the toyota, & young love, no direction yet truly passionate 😨
This is simply the greatest piece of art in the history of the world

Im here in september 2024 love this band and steve perry you rock❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks
This is the song that i usually play in my playlist when im sad and in the brink of depression and suicide, to remind me that we have the power to help each other in a way that no can understand, we can stand for our brother and sister in their darkest time and they need a light of hope, we can raise our shields and protect our beloved ones from the danger that this world thrown at us. We can help, we can the pillar of hope that the last ones need, we can be the light at the end of other dark tunnels, we can make the difference. Thanks for this this masterful work of art, thanks to remind us, mortal humans, that we are capable of immense good things to make this world a better one

Video Director: "So what is our budget for the video?"
Record label: "100 bucks."
Video Director: "Pffft, I can do it for $50."
Tru XD
Why is that so true tho lmao
Most of the budget probably went to the tape and other adhesives thst hold the giant keyboard to the wall
Plus he used the leftover money to buy everybody lunch.
That was spent on the invisible keyboard my fam.
The fact that no one else can replicate make music this way is nuts
I was 17 in 1983 and this video was on heavy rotation on MTV and the song was everywhere from radio to the malls to skateparks to pools to cars.......
An incredible song from an incredible group.

Steve Perry was and remains Journey. . . Arnel Pineda is not bad. . . but not Steve. . . . He will never be unthinkable without Journey. . .
I remember when this was first released on MTV!!!!! Dancing and singing at the top of my lungs!! I was a true 80’s teen!!! Love this band!!!!
I was 9 but my sisters were teens so I had the influence of the music
You lived something that I can only imagine.

I'm sure that I had never heard it before, even though I was familiar with Journey's big hit "Don't Stop Believing."
Within the hour, I had met a man that I found quite attractive, & with whom I had a really interesting conversation.
As it happens, he works in... wait for it.., wait for it... shipping. Really.
Seems like a sign to me ❤
The perfect lineup for Journey
They fuse all elements of Rock genres well makes them xtra special with many many other Artists. And Neal respect great guitarist 🎸 played in Stars charity gather of Artists of Rock and Metal says it all that Dio set up

You all are the damn best. I'm honored to have the kind of support that you show me, thank you. How are you doing it is nice meeting you here btw.
Holy shit why were the 80s and 90s popping off so hard
