Every song is a piece of art. Everything that anyone makes for the sake of expression is a piece of art. Whether you like it or not doesn't matter. The creation of art is ubiquitous and a fundamental human activity. Of course there's good art and there's bad art. But, art as a product of expression should be respected for what it is. A question that one could ask is, "Does art that is compelled by societal pressures (money, sex, fame) count as art?" I think the answer is, "Yes, it does." The reason being that humans are always compelled by social pressures. No artwork that's ever been produced can be separated from societal pressures.
I am 70 years old now and remember falling in love back in the mid 80's when I was a youthful 34 years old and listening to this song on MTV. The 80's were a magical time to be young in America when life was great.
Same here, mate, once had an awesome dance with a very very rich lady, to this number- however this was in jolly old England, just as crap nowadays, as the good old USA...!!!
Enjoy being young, my friend. I am only 21 years old but so much do I miss being young and with no worries. Time is only moving forward, so whatever you do please enjoy the present and what is in front of you. Cherish your loved ones and spend as much time with them as possible before that day comes.
@@idoobbberz_tv6676 I'm 25, my friend. You're still a loooong way from feeling the detriment and atrophy that comes from age, but even then it's still far from over. Don't count the days passing by, but rather take in every positive aspect you encounter throughout your day. Leave little room for regret, that is the true theft of joy.
@@SlyFoxDevereaux You're right. I shouldn't/won't let the constant worry or dread get to me, as there is little that can be done to stop it. Time is constantly moving forward. Indeed, the only thing WE CAN do is enjoy the present and what lies in front of us. Good luck to you, my friend. And thank you for your kind words & wisdom.
@@idoobbberz_tv6676 To you as well, friend, and everyone else who may be plagued by such thoughts. I wish all of you a life not free of hardships, rather rich in experiences. Bless you all.
Ephesians 6:10-18 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.
I was like 12 and this song used to come on when I was playing GTA VICE CITY with my cousin and we used to love it and sing it out loud finding it funny 😄 now Im 29 and this is an absolute masterpiece WOW, so many memories, music just does that to you, it takes you back, thats why its timeless 🤩
How accurate you are about the timeless classics. I just looked this song up bc I’m feeling nostalgic and wished to revisit my teen years. I was 16 when this song was released. *hobbling slowly out as I lean heavily on my granny walker*.
One minute you are back in the 80's remembering the good times you had, and the next minute you are back in the crazy year 2020. Lord, what happen to this World?! 🙄😔
What happened to this world? The adults from the 70's, 80's and 90's lived in a bubble that ended up popping on the rest of us. I only graduated high school in 1997, so I just missed it, but yeah, the people who generally feel nostalgia for that time period didn't realize or acknowledge the mess they lived in. The result is a culture in America that is so out of touch with reality that we don't even take COVID-19 seriously when it threatens to wipe out our entire economy. We don't even take Trump seriously even though he does his best to act like our problems aren't real. We don't even take our systemic injustice and corruption seriously because we expect our politicians to lie to us, and then we pick which lies of theirs we want to accept so that we can ignore the others. In a way, it's the same as baby boomers who don't remember the madness of the 50's and 60's, only the music and happy-go-lucky oversimplification of right and wrong that was being fed to them by their leaders.
Maybe you're emotionally attached to it 'cause it's your era, but you can't make blanket statements like that. Yeah there was some great music in that decade, but a lot of it was also schematic and relying too much on synthesizers. There was stuff every bit as iconic and unrepeatable in the 70s, 60s, 50s.
1985 : What A Nice Song 1995 : What A Nice Song 2005 : What A Nice Song 2020 : What A Nice Song 2059 : What A Nice Song 2331 : What A Nice Song 3032 : What A Nice Song
i think it is very cool that despite your age, and the fact that you were already in your 40's in the 1980s, you still had the taste and presence of mind to recognize and enjoy the amazing musical creativity in that decade...just as I did! I am only 45 so I was a youngster back then, but, I loved it probably just as much as anyone else that lived through that time!
@@EphemeralProductions Thank you. It probably had also something to do with the fact that I played bass guitar in a group for 6 years and so had a particular interest in music. I find that some songs at the beginning of he 90s were also very good but unfortunately tailed off during this period. I still love dancing disco fox with my wife but cannot find discos catering for people much over 50. But that is life, all good things come to an end sometime. However we listen to 80s music just about every day.
@Greg Hubbard Well Greg, in some way you're right, however in retrospect I find the music of the 80s better than the 60s. I was playing the guitar myself from 1959 until 1966 and found at that time most music was good - obviously. But now I still find the 80s best, regardless of what anybody says. BUT everybody has a right to say their views - at least in most western countries.
This song was the defining ballad of the soundtrack to my parents' courtship. I remember as a young child whenever it played on the radio and only one of them was home, whomever it was either mom or dad, would smile with a far-away look in their eyes. Of course it wasn't until I was older that I came to comprehend hearing this song swept them away in the nostalgia of first falling in love with each other. We suffered the heartbreaking loss my mom last December to cancer having just celebrated her 60th birthday nine days prior. My father was especially devastated when she was taken from us far too early. While there will inevitably be a different tone to the memory this song evokes in dad, I dearly hope it still transports him to a place of sweet memory of their young love...
Hi Mark I understand completely how your parents loved this song…the dad to my four children, (now ex) introduced me to SO many bands/music..and this was one. It takes me back to then, really. Take care, and all the best, Mark! Love, from Australia
This song is so fucking legendary. I'm 35 and I've been listening to it for 20 years and I'm absolutely certain I'll be listening for at least another 20.
It really didn't seem that long ago..but I look at all my meating peers and I still look good and they look like the crypt keepers. I don't find any pleasure in seeing this. 😒
dude you just took like 12 minutes of your life writing an essay about how you disagree with some random comment on a random video. Todays music is dead except for some songs accept it and move on... HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!
For me it was the radio station that plays classic songs like this. Now that I can play guitar, I'm going to try this song later. I grew up in the 80's, so this brings back some memories.
Man, I was 17, the year before high school graduation. This song transports me back to the way I exactly felt during that time, and the hopes and dreams I had after graduating. It's amazing the power that a single song can have over you.
@@DivineAtheistWannabe Well, you know, what a person wants and values at 17 tends to change a a little as you get older. So, even though I may NOT be a multi millionaire and hanging out at the PlayBoy mansion driving a red Ferarri, I AM content with the family I have helped produce and with my children. I DID manage to live in Hawaii which I always wanted to do, and still do, so I did achieve that! Life is a funny thing. Thanks for the question.
I can agree but I have a story I’d like to share I was born prematurely like at 6months and my uncle was in the hospital with my mum . and my grandpa was at work with my dad and my uncle rang my dad telling him that I had a 25% chance of survival and they were in the car and this was the song that was playing in the background this is a good song but since i found this out hearing it tears me up and thx to me being premature af I have autism and many muscle conditions and this goes to show that you should never act like you have torettes and other mental defects as it’s the cause of me being suicidal as I kept the fact I was being bullied for 7 years to no one (jeez that got deep but still if you fake mental defects we can’t be friends)

Truly it gives you a feeling you just can't express it so addicting
Yes it is
I am 70 years old now and remember falling in love back in the mid 80's when I was a youthful 34 years old and listening to this song on MTV.
The 80's were a magical time to be young in America when life was great.
Same here, mate, once had an awesome dance with a very very rich lady, to this number- however this was in jolly old England, just as crap nowadays, as the good old USA...!!!
I was born on 1992 but man..... i feel your nostalgy, i can imagine how your life was back then... god bless you sr
Same as in the Uk it has to be said- feel sorry for those whose teenage years, werent in the 1980's...!!
And then..
We also love life to the fullest!!
This is one of those 80s songs that just kills me with nostalgia. It's almost too painful. I long for these old days when the world was different.
Same…
Loved this song... awesome guitar licks ... memorable... not too fast and all with feeling!!!
I am 15 years old and thanks to my family I grew up listening to this master piece
Enjoy being young, my friend. I am only 21 years old but so much do I miss being young and with no worries. Time is only moving forward, so whatever you do please enjoy the present and what is in front of you. Cherish your loved ones and spend as much time with them as possible before that day comes.
@@idoobbberz_tv6676 good advice
I am 70. Still listening to this wonderful piece.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says,
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. God bless.

it feels good to know that im not alone listening this song, the memories and the amazing times when we were young.
This song makes me think of nighttime just like all great 80s tunes. Nighttime on the road under the clear sky, the moon and the stars.
God bring me back to the 80s
Maybe clear sky, but the road glistens due to previous rainfall lol
I know what you mean. I've got a whole list of songs for night time travel and nearly all of them are from the 80s.
This girl gave me a hug and I was like "I just died in your arms " ,now I can't stop hearing the song inside my head

This is one of the best songs to come out of the 80's. And the 80's had a LOT of great music.
Amen to that bruv. The best decade of my life!
Yeah no doubt music Is awesome..bt really lame video lol

Il second that This song is amazing forgotten about a lot of songs from the 80’s that r great 😊
True! I actually heard 80's still has the most #1 hits, but regardless it's clear it could be the greatest decade for music.

How accurate you are about the timeless classics. I just looked this song up bc I’m feeling nostalgic and wished to revisit my teen years. I was 16 when this song was released. *hobbling slowly out as I lean heavily on my granny walker*.

@@archiesleaven3233, I'm pretty sure you would have loved it...(and the 70's).
John T. Cook I just look back at the 80s (especially the football) and wish I was alive then
What happened to this world?
Love that guitar work - 80's gold.
Amidst this crisis the world is facing now, 80's music really makes me feel ALIVE again ....

There will never music like the 80’s
Maybe you're emotionally attached to it 'cause it's your era, but you can't make blanket statements like that. Yeah there was some great music in that decade, but a lot of it was also schematic and relying too much on synthesizers. There was stuff every bit as iconic and unrepeatable in the 70s, 60s, 50s.
@@diarmuidkuhle8181 notice you didn't say 90's, 2000s, 2010s or 2020s. So his statement is not wrong

i think it is very cool that despite your age, and the fact that you were already in your 40's in the 1980s, you still had the taste and presence of mind to recognize and enjoy the amazing musical creativity in that decade...just as I did!
BUT everybody has a right to say their views - at least in most western countries.
drive to san fransisco 👍
