- In this video we compared eight Mid-size SUVs: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Haval H9, Chevrolet Trail Blazer, Volkswagen Touareg, BAIC BJ 40 Plus, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 & UAZ Patriot.

@@teofilol2666 That Pajero doesn't have the legendary S-AWC so that's why it failed lol there's no hurting fanboys here, we all know that Mitsubishi pioneered 4WD and AWD systems, they released there first 4WD car in 1933 and they invented traction control systems

The only channel in the internet to give us direct-none sponsored comparison between popular brands. Mitsubishi surprisingly impressed us with the Outlander and now the Sport has taken some of that impressive traction control tech, Mitsubishi as a brand is overly underrated.
There so underrated, I'd easily choose them over Subaru all day everyday.
I have both a Mitsubishi Shogun and a Mitsubishi Outlander, I'm a huge fan of them

Every one of these vehicles surprised me with how capable they all were. Especially considering most of them are not that off-road focused.

In my country many people love Mitsubishi. My dad used to have an old L200 (triton in some countries) and I can tell how good Mitsubishi is.

In Kenya, BAIC BJ40 is sold as Mobius( a local car manufacturer). Pajero will always rock

For my mitsubishi montero it stands out a lot for a long time for its suspension system and the center of gravity that helps a lot.
I hv the pajero in diesel. More torke, just as good.

I would say beating but keeping up, 4x4 low range and diff lock is going take you further than most electrickery systems especially technical rock climbs.

@@rvisconti Lol..... this is the land cruiser prado which is the small brother similar to hilux and 4runner.
@@rvisconti with diff locks those vehicles can go way further than the electronics In the touareg that can easily overheat.
For a car based SUV, the Touareg is more than good enough for inexperienced offroad drivers. Other car makers could learn a thing or two from VW but most of these car based SUVs are rarely taken offroad.
I wish they used a tdi touareg i feel tht with the low end torque would of performed way better.
The Touareg was designed from the ground up to be an SUV not a car.

@@OverlandTT The first Touareg was designed to be an all-rounder. But people didn't buy the off-road package. So VW decided the next generation will be road-focused, so they dropped the off-road abilities and made the car lighter and more fuel-efficient.

Talking about turbo engines, I have great respect for the 2.0 liter ecoblue biturbo diesel engine by Ford... You should test it some day using a Ford ranger or Ford Everest

Toureq has a dif lock with 4L and 4H, I am using one.
Pajero sport is surprisingly good can drive with fulltime 4wd, center lock and rear diff lock with high and low for off-road it should be Diesel engine

In future videos I would love if the drivers would hold the engine revs for a bit longer as they increase the rpm....... Some AWD systems have shown to be more effective this way

The Volkswagen sure was impresive, despite relying on "dated" electronics, did everything with little fuss. On the other hand, the Toyotas seem to have underperformed and failed to live up to the standard that most people have set for them (without turning all mecanical aids on)
Toyota didn't underperform, there are the biggest vehicles from the group and the diesel even has less power.

Also, the two chinese suv and Trailblazer look about the size of Prado.
Wouldn't be surprised if Touareg had similar weight compared to gasoline Toyota (which is also the result of being the most "luxurious" in the bunch).

Patriot, Trailblazer, H9 and Touareg are wider than Prado.
Haval is slightly shorter than Toyota, but its almost five meters lenght is measured with spare tire.
Without it (Prado can be bought that way) its shorter than H9 (which can be ordered with external spare tire that makes it slightly above five meter long).
With LUX trim chinese suv weight 2230kg.
Touareg with 3.6 engine weight 2250kg.
7seater Prado with 2.8 diesel weight 2300kg.
It's worth to add that diesel and turbocharged engines are heavier compared to natural aspirated.
Touareg with 3.0 diesel weight 2345kg.
