Suv based on Amarok would be also great, but I'd assune VAG would sell it only on the markets where they don't sell Touareg (because cheaper, body on frame suv would kill Touareg sales).

Tow more, yeah, ¿load more?- I'm not sure about that. The double-cab Hilux has a real payload of ~2310 lbs. The single-cab offers ~2750 lbs of payload.
Full-size pick ups have surprisingly low payload numbers, although their loading bay does offer more volume.
@@mateobeccar2618 the V8 f150 has a payload of 3325lb.
The ecoboost v6 has payload of 3250lb and tow capacity of 14000lb.

¿Is that like the unicorn truck?- rarely made, 4x2, low trim, single cab, long box with a heavy duty payload package.
The Hilux specs were lowballed; they were top trim specs... and those specs are fairly common to find. That's why I said 'real' in my first comment.
But, yeah, the 3250 lbs max payload F-150 variant can technically carry more, even though actually finding one may be highly unlikely.

I think you'll find the 3.2L diesel in the T6 Ranger is an inline 5cyl engine as opposed to a V6 as mentioned in the video.
Gotta admit it's a rare breed.
With this capacity You'd either expect inline 4 or V6.
Another great video! Always watch as soon as I see the videos pop up. I'm impressed by the VW, made it look easy compared to everything except the raptor! Keep up the great work, Diyas!

Late to comment but I own a Raptor and have also in the past owned 4runners, jeeps and an FJ cruiser. The Raptor is known for it's high speed desert ability but it has shockingly good traction and this vid shows why. The suspension travel, weight and wheelbase means it's always going to have traction. It's limitations lie in it's huge dimensions. It can have trouble fitting on tight mountain or forest trails and can also get high centered fairly easily due to the long wheelbase. But outside of these situations it is an absolute beast and my favorite offroad vehicle!

Speaking of dimensions the Ranger Raptor is better in that regard because it is based on the smaller Ranger which competes with the HiLux, D-Max, Navara and Mitsubishi Triton/L200/Strada, not the F-150 while still having the Raptor name.

And as stated to me, the Amarok might not be a Raptor (which cost quite a bit more) but boy did it gave the competition a good run for their money and this one doesn't even have the Bilstein suspention or stage tune to 320hp 700 torque.

Amazing content, as always! Such a good explanation of what is happening. I think it'll be a good opportunity to bring a Jeep Compass, if possible with 2.0T diesel (170hp, 350 Nm), it has some of the best traction control system to overcome obstacles without any locking differential and compare it with small/medium SUVs.

@@vikramtalreja9 there are many small cars with good traction control systems that are better than 4x4s without traction control or a center diff. Land Rover Discovery Sport is a good example of a car with any diff lock or center diff but has a very competent traction control

I do respect navara bc it’s the oldest and it also got more features and performance than the 2012 hilux
Correct me if I'm wrong, but not all Navara/Frontier from this gen have the rear differential lock.
Just like with second gen Xterra, it's standard in the highest trim.
Also, technically both Nissan and Toyota are in the same age since D40 and AN10 started production in 2004.

All you gotta do is put rear diff lock on your 4x4 truck and you can do stuff like this basically.
I’d rather have a basic 4x4 truck with a rear e locker or air locker than something with a fancy electronic system. Simple. Toggleable, works.

Your criterias are brillant, Sir: a clear parcour, interesting stops (guided by an eagle`s eye and a good team), graphic explanations, visualized by a camera team, that absolutely knows about your subject. You also describe the different tyres and the behaviour by chosing different types of 4WD and differential locks under those tyre- and terrain-conditions... Wow.
From my view, this is the most honest, detailed and competent concept of comparing cars like these... even if I could not even afford one of them :) So the more I can enjoy it.

SUV Battle well my only grip in the video was that you didn’t use the a bit more newer model Ranger (2016 or newer). Those models came with a diff lock and Terrain Management System (TMS)
Nobody said it so i will. I'm actually impressed with the isuzu, pure electronic work gets it done as well and cheaper, for a work truck it would be my choice, were you in 4low for any of the tests?

Would like to see how the PX2 ranger compares and that had a major update to the traction control and offroad capability
The lack of low gear in amarok can be a limiting factor on even tougher terrain like rocky steep hills, I think. The test prooved the benefit of the rear locking diffs. Those who have one didn’t reach their limits so an order can’t be set.
Please make some test on muddy roads. Great job
The 2021 dmax is killer when it comes to offroad

The Raptor is heads and shoulders above the other test trucks. It can rock craw or run 100 mph on a Baja course. It's a beast and with the upcoming Raptor R with it's new GT500 engine and motified suspension. It will be an ultra multipurpose truck. Like you said. You really don't know where the limits are with the Raptor. Those runs looked like Sunday drives. Great video comparison. Next time maybe add a Ram.

The Ford F150 Raptor is nice but only if the trail has space for this monster. It's 25cm wider than the Amarok. Looks cool ... until you run out of road.
dmax does great even without the difflock
Im also surprised how well the dmax performed. It has better traction control than the prev and current gen hilux.
