Opie's level of obscurity is actually impressive if you consider how big he (or rather the radio show he was on) was. I can't really think of anyone that compares. He became a zero overnight and has monumentally failed to retain ANY audience.
I actually think I'm one of about 10 weirdos that still keeps an eye on his stuff because it's fascinating to watch in terms of how remarkably bad/unwatched it is. He literally has video conversations with the three people that watch him on Facebook live.
Luckily for him he made a lot of money back in day and has assets and good investments carrying him. What he does now isn’t that popular but he still gets 6 figures a year from it to help pay taxes and such.

I've been a fan since the wnew days. Opie was always a douche. Anthony was what made the show what it was. Then Jimmy comes along and those two ran with like no others. If it wasn't for ant and yimmy opie wouldn't even had a career like he did. Anthony is at least humble enough to admit if it wasn't for opie he'd probably still be knocking tin. Sad that opie can't honestly do the same. He has said it on air before but you could tell it wasn't sincere.
Looking back now it’s amazing how many comedians used to just go on that show and be themselves ... funniest radio in history . Ope used to kill some of those moments to move on to other things .

I've said it before and I will say it again. Ant, Jim and Dave would be a fantastic show, whatever the topic.
I emailed Compound Media and told them that I’d pay $5-10 for a one off 2-4 hour show where Jim and Ant just answered questions from fans strictly about Opie and certain shows and how Opie was acting or what he was thinking at the time.
Dude yeah, I would legitimately pay $25 a month for that. That would be dope.
Also, Netflix needs to do a full on documentary on them.

I started listening to O&A late in their time, around 2008. All during that time, Opie would mention how easy podcasting would be to start, how he had equipment at home, blah blah blah....and still nothing.
Any asshole can make a podcast with the equipment. But when nobody is listening to a guy throw in a golf update during a golden bit it really doesn't matter when nobody listens

Opie was a brilliant straight-man, when he wasn't being a bored prick towards the end....but when Patrice died & Louis CK & Bill Burr got HUGE & weren't on the show so much anymore, even Norton to an extent, it was only a matter of time.....But post-O&A Opie sounds like he's totally lost it. These clips are great, they are what got me to subscribe.
I love OnA. Started listening when I was 9. Listened to almost every show they ever did. But it's shifty what this turned into. Anthony and gregg were great friends despite what either says. They did amazing things in radio and built a monster together. Anthony knows how Opie is. Opie is backed into a corner where he's got no choice but to defend himself constantly. And all it takes is Anthony to be a friend and reach out. If Patrice didn't die he would have forced them to work out their differences and admit how silly it all is. And it's no secret most OnA die hards are just trolls that feed into anything
