I recommend it to everybody I know that listens to podcasts and stuff like that on their drives or can listen to stuff like that at work. It’s truly amazing. Same, I’ve been going through the Antholini Saga where Anthony is dating this traffic girl on their local news station named Jill Nicolini. Some of the greatest 15 hours of radio to ever air. It’s one of the few times that Anthony is the one getting roasted. Every regular comedian that showed up on O&A like Quinn, Burr, Vos, O’Neal, Dice. Everyone was at the top of their game during Antholini, even Opie dropped a funny line or two.

    Opie and Anthony introduced Jim Norton, Bill Burr, Patrice O’Neal and I can’t forget Rich Vos (slobbering on the mic with his mispronounced words😂) to the world! They were the last generation of great comics who were unfiltered, uncensored who were genuine friends. They had honest conversations about race, politics and world events. There wasn’t a format, it was just open dialogue. I listen to them daily.

      Opie and Anthony from roughly 2012 through 2016 was epic. I had a long commute in that time span and nearly every day was so incredibly funny that it seemed impossible that they could top it from one day to the next -- and they did. Patrice O'Neal and Jim Norton as a nearly constant presence was genius. Anthony is funny as hell. Opie was the straight man who, before he started to get insecure, played the role to perfection. And the lineup of casual friends they had was incredible: Louis CK, Bill Burr, Ricky Gervais, you name it. These guys would just come in and hang out before they become international superstars. There are thousands of hours of golden material on the internet funnier than any comedy show you could pay for.

    Everyone is talking about Patrice and his appearances on O&A, but even better was Louis CK's hours long call-ins on the show, absolutely incredible.

      I wouldn't say better, but Louis Ck's appearances were just as funny, especially those call in shows. I think he just gets overlooked sometimes because he wasn't on as much as Patrice.

      I’ve been listening to TH-cam O&A clips almost everyday for the past 10 years and I still find stuff I haven’t heard before. Crazy how well preserved it is. It helps that, unlike Stern, they never attacked uploaders and let the show spread by word of mouth.

      @SAVikingSA 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      That was always Opie. Anthony was a huge Howard fan and said so on the show numerous times. I listened to both and you absolutely missed out, O&A at that time were lightyears ahead of Howard and Artie was the only thing that hid that fact to his listeners.

    • @worldeconomicforum7210

      @@joshmurray1261 i.think the O and A rivalry they had really messed with different comics availability to each show. Like Norm Macdonald didn't really go on O and A. I wonder how much Howard and the o and a beef had to do with that. Just like the lack of videos of Patrice, bill burr and other comics at howard stern.

    O&A was the best radio ever. I remember because they were on in the evening for the drive home when it really counted. There was nothing better than laughing my ass off on the drive home after a completely shitty day at work. Many time I was so happy I had to stop for a drink. They were fantastic. When they were the one and only to have the "stinky cam". Many times when something completely crazy or obscene was going on in the studio they were showing it on the stinky cam. Howard the self proclaimed king of media didn't even think of that. Here's to you O&A ....I wish your show was still on and Howard was gone.

    • @From-North-Jersey
      @From-North-Jersey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony learned to code to make the "Instant Feedback" HTML app that let any fan send instant messages to the studio. Anthony would read it out and give you credit every time he read one of listeners messages that made him laugh, I know for a fact the Nopester used to get some if not most of his good lines from listeners sending in instant feedback. He stole two of mine in one episode.
