This is a collection of test footage shot with the Thypoch Simera-C M on the Pyxis and BMCC6K. I think they pair very well with this sensor! What do you think? Cheers, Flo
its encouraging to see a fellow dad trying to keep his child in focus when shooting family moments, haha. I'm sure there will be a breakdown of these lenses in a review, but I would love to see how sharp they get when stopped down and what that does to the bokeh, especially on the longer focal lengths.
I am forcibly cine-modding mainly TTArtisan lenses of the same focal length set. I use Tilta gears, but because the lenses are M-mount rangefinder lenses, they don’t focus close enough, so when I saw your lenses, I thought, ‘This is it!’ Set lenses are expensive for individuals, but I’m very eager to replace mine. I’m looking forward to your review. Greetings from Japan.
Thank you!! I think the main difference is in the size and weight as well as general feeling. The Simeras are much lighter and smaller so better for handheld and solo operation and have also a 'vintage' look, The Arles feel more solid, are better for rigging and also have a more constant and neutral look. Both amazing value for the respective prices!
Such an amazing sensor, It's for sure giving Arri. Eyeing those lenses, would really love a comparison with the Arles. What is your opinion comparing them?
Really is!! In my opinion these have more character and are much lighter/smaller than the Arles, so better for handheld and small rigs as as well as solo operation. The Arles are better built, larger, better suite for larger production and more neutral. Both amazing options!
@OfTwoLands oh. So you have the kit. Got it. Never heard of these but the bokeh does look beautiful. Weird thing is watching this makes me want to get a Helios 44-2 even more. Lol
Beautiful lenses, I'm hoping they release either a PL or L mount versions personally. But absolutely loving the character and really want to see that 21mm in action too. Stunning imagery!
Beautiful images as always, Flo. I have been waiting for these M-mount versions to drop! I’m currently working with an L-mount camera and I’ve been using a Voigtlander M-mount lens on it with a cheap Urth adapter. That adapter fits solid on the lens side, but wiggles quite a bit on the body. May I ask which adapter you used for these Simera-Cs? Thank you!
Thank you!! I actually used the Urth as well. No the most amazing quality and feel as it is quite thing but so far so far good :) (all the kit is linked in the description too)
Par contre sur leur site je ne vois pas de monture M pour la gamme Simera-C. ET la monture M ça va sur du EF ? Ce n'est pas compatible sur ma BMPCC6KPRO ?
How much storage do you go through shooting open gate? Like how many tb was the footage for this video 😂. It’s such a beautiful medium - amazing footage.
More character, lighter and faster. Better suited to handheld and solo operation without much rigging. Both amazing lenses with a different look and mount options.

I really love the look from these (especially the swirly beautiful plant ones!)
And of course the shots of Monsieur Finn (not biased there)
😍
Thank you 😊 !! Super happy with the footage and as always thank you for your help 🙏 xx

Haha they are the hardest to follow and frame but they make for very cute moments!! This was shot mostly at T.1.5 and T2.8!
beautiful
@@CineDailies Thanks mate!!
so beautiful especially the focus to out of focus transitions
@@tshrmhra Glad you like it, thanks so much 🙏
light capture is superb. warm and vintage. Love it. Great work as always.

lovely footage!! I love this set!
Thanks!! Such a nice set indeed 🎥🤩
Lovely images. I was able to test these lenses out as well and absolutely love them. Thanks for sharing some more incredible footage.
Thank you man!! They really are great and fun lenses to use 🤩🎥
@@OfTwoLands Definitely going to snag a few in M-Mount so I can use them on any mirrorless mount as I often use RF, E, and L.
I just got the camera, just epic images. Love this
@@DarioBarrosFilmmaker Thank you!! Such a great cam 🤩
Bloody epic dude! These lenses def look the biz. Might have to cop a pyxis as well..
Thanks mate!! Sure is a nice combo :)
They look amazing!

Absolutely insane! This combo is is a match made in heaven. I would really love to try out the pyxis and these lenses 😩
Thanks so much!! Really is a great combo🤩
Have the walking shots been stabilised using a gimbal or is that the gyro stabiliser ? at 2:32
Just the gimbal, not stabilisation in post :)
Beautiful as always ✨ Looking forward to the review!
Thank you 🙏☺️

Shots look incredible. I wish they had these for the X mount
Thank you!! I think they will bring more mounts but not sure about X
Bokeh is bonkers! Absolutely gorgeous shots!
Thanks!! And yes! It really reminds me of the Helios 🤩😍
Love it mate ! Those lenses have a beautiful dreamy/retro style 🔥🎬
Thank you mate!! And yes, really liking the look of these 😍
Bring your scope haha!
@ someone told me: french raclette somewhere in the Alps soon! I think I will take advantage of it to bring my scope with me ;)
@@ThomasTeissier haha that's a deal!!
looks sooo good man. wanna test them out!
Thanks so much man!! Really liking these so far.
Stunning as always. Quick question. Will I need an adapter on my L-Mount Pyxis to use these M-Mount lenses?
Thanks so much!
Yes you would need an adapter. I’ve listed the one I used 👍
These are gorgeous! If you had to pair a zoom lens with these, what would you go with?
Tough call! I don’t think I’ve used a zoom that has that much character. Maybe a vintage one in that case.
Beautiful
@@AIJ.productions1 Thank you!!
WOW, NICE JOB! Not like the helios but they look good.
Thanks!! Not as pronounced at the Helios but still very similar in many ways but with a more reliable/usable image.
Superb footage. How do you think they compare to the Arles Primes?
Thank you!! I think the main difference is in the size and weight as well as general feeling.

This is absolutely beautiful. What focal length is this at? I'd assume at least 50mm right?
Thank you!! Most of it on the 28 and 50. A few shots on the 35 too :)
@OfTwoLands oh. So you have the kit. Got it. Never heard of these but the bokeh does look beautiful. Weird thing is watching this makes me want to get a Helios 44-2 even more. Lol
The tracking shot of the lady in the woods…was that handheld? Or was it gimbal or easy rig? It was soooo smooth! I must know! Lol
@@ZacBarnesMusic Haha thanks! It was the 28mm on the RS4 Pro ☺️
Beautiful lenses, I'm hoping they release either a PL or L mount versions personally. But absolutely loving the character and really want to see that 21mm in action too. Stunning imagery!
Thank you!! I think they talked about L as well but not sure about PL. hopefully I’ll get my hands on the 21 at some point. Hoping for the 75 first :)
@@OfTwoLands Native L mount would make me purchase a set ASAP. That 75 is beautiful.
WOW WOW WOW 🤩
☺️🙏
I say it every time....BEAUTIFUL! How does the 35mm compare to the Mir-1B? At least the MFD is shorter, ha. Thanks Flo!
Thank you mate!! Haha yes it's definitely shorter but easier to use. Less character of course but still plenty :).
I was moved by the stunning image!
Would an M-mount be better than an E-mount ver. for use with PYXIS and the BMCC6K?
Thanks!! Yes M would be better as you can adapt it easily on L cameras.
Yes you unfortunately cannot adapt E-Mount to L Mount, so the M-mount is your only option.
What mount and lens adapter are you using them on?
M and urth adapter, the whole kit is in the video description :)
Wow 😍😍😍
Thank you ☺️🙏
heck yeah

Haha around 300GB for this one :) Thank you!!
No formato 16:9?
I love open gate and I think it suits the look of these lenses ☺️
How do you compare them to vespids?
More character, lighter and faster. Better suited to handheld and solo operation without much rigging. Both amazing lenses with a different look and mount options.
@@OfTwoLands thanks for the reply :)
In terms of sharpness, do you find any difference between them? Are simera softer than vespids?
😍
