When I got divorced the first time, my mom told me: "That was a mistake." I replied: No Mom, it was a learning experience! You have to learn from mistakes, not beat yourself up about it forever. We are usually our own toughest critics! Journaling is such a great action to prevent future mistakes.

Good reframe! Most of the time it's more helpful to think about emotional struggles from a mechanical, rather than moral, perspective. I.e. instead of good vs bad, helpful vs unhelpful

Compassion is something i did not have towards myself for most of my life. Still nurturing it. In the process of becoming better at learning when to speak and when to stay silent when it comes to communicating. And what to say if something must be said in situations that are difficult. Also only really started embracing allowing all feelings to "be" about a year ago. But still working on it. This talk helped alot! Thanks for al the wise mindset shared. Appreciated 🙂

I'm not a TH-cam subscriber, but I have listened to (and appreciated!) your podcasts. I would love it if I could access these in a way that lets me listen during my driving commute. Thanks for considering!

I listen to them on Bluetooth in my car. I just play the TH-cam video (but don’t watch) and it plays over my Bluetooth.

I have shared this video with a grief recovery group because many of the examples include how we may feel after the death of a loved one. This is especially true for suicide survivors. Personally, I’ve benefited from the exercises you shared. Thank you!!

What would be some best books to read for regaining self belief after setbacks in career and bounce back..

    • @TheFriendlyMind

Hmmm... I would focus less on book and reading (can't think of anything off the top of my head, anyway) and instead work on creating a consistent pattern where you are creating small wins with your behavior-that is, constantly doing things that align with your values that you can be proud of. This is, in my experience, one of the fastest and most effective ways to improve self-belief/self-esteem
