    This bike continues to do nothing but impress me.
    This may be standard fare for KTM fans, but compared to my trusty 2019 Versys-X 300 this thing seems like a spaceship!

    No 4 way flashers is a serious fail. Whenever I am stuck in slow moving or stopped by construction the first thing I do is put on my 4 way flashers so I have less of a chance of getting hit from behind.

      You'd think this could be added via a software update or something. If you did a rapid left right left right or something to engage it.
      When I first got mine I thought I was activating it each time I hit the turn signals because the display light shows two flashing arrows. Also annoying

    • @marcochavane3124
      @marcochavane3124 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also irritating that they don't give the option to add the odometer to the main dash favorites and you have to drill several button presses deep into the menu to find it.

    If you have the tire pressure monitors fitted. Where will that be shown, on the main screen? Does is give pressures or just a warning if it loses pressure? I always have it displayed on the top line of the BMW display when riding offroad to check if pressure is still ok.

    Ian these videos are amazing. The amount of information you jam pack into them is staggering in the best of ways and the splitting them in parts makes it all the better to just put on something during work breaks.
    I'm already of similair mind like you and absolutely adore this thing already.
    I'd almost regret buying the 2018 AT DCT but I'm having too many laughs on it as of yet.
    My thanksfor the quality content and keep it up!
    Now to figure out an excuse on why I need two adventure bikes of similair performance...

    Good summary. One question that you may have covered for the 790. It’s clear the up and down are used for shortcuts or favourites. I was wondering how the on-the-fly change for traction setting works as I assume you would use the up/down buttons. [I believe you do not have on Norden yet as software not available on launch as you said but I assume that it may be same as the 790 or 890 for that function.]. Thanks for excellent reviews! Cheers from Quebec! Allan

    1st week of owning mine I stalled it at least 5 times. Never happened with any other like I have owned. She is a lumpy, frumpy thing at any rpm under 2500. I guess I'll just wear out the clutch feathering it offroad. I'm 6'4 but find the bars about an inch too wide on each side. You will need to spend the extra $30 and get some heat deflectors, she gets toasty. Definitely need a taller screen like he says. Anyone under 6'1" will not be flat footing this bike. I expected a little secret storage area but none to speak of here. None under the rear seat.
    The fairing shape spreads your legs out more than expected, you will definitely do some fiddling with the suspension especially the front, way too soft on the factory settings. May need some wider mirrors too. The round ones keep the Retro look but don't work very well. Anyone who's not owned parallel twin before, don't expect v twin or boxer smoothness or anything close. Overall still a very good bike, one I plan to keep for 3 yrs or so. Let's see if the reliability allows this. Fingers crossed.

    THANK YOU for this video , i am very intimidated by the TFT dash and all the electronics on this bike but you cannot buy a modern performing bike without it so , i wish i could buy this bike with far less computer nanny nonsense like ride modes and all but with the upgraded 'R' model explorer suspension honestly but im taking the leap , on the 2017 ktm1090r i just sold it was in 'sport' mode since new and probably spent most of its 30K/miles with the ABS&TCS off , my Norden 901 is at the dealership still i havent picked it up yet (or paid for it LoL) because we have snow on the ground here still and will for a bit it looks like plus the rack/bags and other accessories arent in yet anyway

    • @theowels2680
      @theowels2680 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Alecs2133. I picked up my 901 Expedition at the end of may and have had zero fogging issues so far. Autumn took a long time arriving here but is now full on. If I get any fogging issues between now and winter I'll let you know.
      The handling of the bike is really good. I rode Beemer R80RT and K100 as well as Kawa ZZR600 and for me the Norden handles the best although it is a good bit heavier than the Baby-ZZR.
      My two gripes: the absence of hazard warning lights (a must for traffic jams, emergency braking, etc...) and the battery issue (some do not hold their charge correctly) which appears to be an issue with some KTM's also.

    This video really does a nice job of explaining why the Tenere 700 is so appealing. Seems like these were designed for video gamers, not riders (video gamers that are riders). I wonder how many riders actually prefer this stuff?

    • @flattopwill
      @flattopwill 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean I’m not a huge supporter of rider aids but if we’re going to have them then this is the way to do it. It’s very intuitive. Explorer Mode makes it even better.
      The T7 doesn’t really need TC with only 2/3 the power of the Norden 🤣🤣

    • @vtrack1963
      @vtrack1963 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@flattopwill I’m not opposed to rider aids at all. You can have great ones while keeping it simple. The VStrom 650/1000, Super Tenere, and 1090 Adv R are good examples of simple aids available that work well.
      The complexity of the number of adjustments that can be made is not likely to benefit the majority of riders - just my opinion anyway. Also a pain in the butt to ride with people that are frequently stopping to play their computer games. 🤣

    Excellent tutorial! And what you show is why I wouldn't ever buy this bike - the dash turns a riding experience into a computer experience.
    I prefer the Ténéré 700 design philosophy that puts riding and rider's skill paramount with electronics minimal. The Norden 901 may have
    a nice engine, gearbox, and suspension, but I wouldn't want to pay for all that electronics!

    Another great informative video. With the additional information on the right of the screen (date, mpg etc, etc), if you customise it, can you make the text larger? Or alternatively, if you reduce the number of choices to be seen, does that then make the text larger? Although I like the screen, I wish they had fitted a larger screen, when I had a test ride, I found the info on the right to be difficult to read, without having to take your eyes off the road for longer than ideal.

      ABS is separate, but TC is linked to ride mode

      Explorer Mode allows individual adjustment of TC (9 levels independent of ride mode) as well as 3 different settings for throttle response.

    That’s some pretty sophistacated electronics.
    I love that the bike has cruise control.
    Too bad it doesn’t have the four-way flashers. That could be a life saver.
