- DJI set out to create the Focus system of the future by combining wireless focus pulling with disruptive LiDAR and AI technology. We had access to the Focus Pro before the official announcement to take you on a deep dive… including explaining how the system works, what features it offers, how you set it up, how to rig it, and how you operate it. We tested the Focus Pro in different scenarios including a hole set of stress test that would be impossible for PDAFs and humans… and of course, we tried to fool the AI to figure out the limits.

I say this without the slightest bit of exaggeration whatsoever, this is my favorite channel on TH-cam and has been ever since I was recommended "Beyond Imax: Filming With a Gigantic 16K Sensor" 4 years ago. Keep up the amazing work.

@@MediaDivision It is the same video that introduced me to the best channel on youtube as well. The 16K was just too shockingly good not to subscribe to this one-of-kind channel. Also why the heck youtube didn't suggest this video to me on time! Now I made sure all notifications are on, and it's probably the only channel worth that to me with no gibberish fillers.

Absolutely… always happy when we can cover the cost of doing this. I believe it is a great way to grow personally and take everybody along as far as that is possible.

It's about the value of each view. Each person viewing is probably worth $2000 USD in new spending from directly watching this video.
That is what i call a real review. And the only real complete review i saw until now. Not some 12 minutes video repeating what everyone is saying but a long deep down review showing every details of the product. A bit of humor here and there, very good ligthing and set up which is pleasing to the eye. And then some real testing applications and comparisons. This is probably the 5th comment i do on any youtube video since like 20 years or something, but it's deserved. Good job
Thanks a lot William, I get it... everybody just had the system for a short time and not everybody is stupid enough to work 20 nights in a row. Always trying our best to produce something worth your time. Proud to be your 5th!!!!! We got a lot of other cool stuff. If you are into experimental stuff "f0.3 - the impossible lens" is pretty sweet.
If not recommended before, I would recommend to DJI that when the subject leaves the focus box, that the focus remains on the last focused spot, and not jump to the background, that would be a more natural.

@@stereothrilla8374 Lol I don’t know how I can prove whether I’m a human or not. But what I do know is that the guys at media division, put love and effort into what they do. And that makes me want to go into filmmaking. But for the moment, I’m about $6000 in on the Fujifilm X system. It will be a while before I can afford an Ari Alexa and set of anamorphic lenses.
I came looking on TH-cam for videos going more in depth and this is the first thing that popped up. I'm telling you before I even watch this it's gonna answer every question I have. Top notch as always.

Thank you for this. Your production quality is not only incredible and so enjoyable to watch, but this system is a real game changer for the price and features. The first DJI LiDAR was a baby step into the idea of giving manual lenses auto-focus, but this has now become an eco-system. Rock on!

I do wish they had switched to a locking connector like LEMO instead of USB-C, and their Transmission latency is still behind the industry expectations, but this is extremely close. The pros definitely outweigh the cons at this juncture.

@@ForestCinema that’s a little disappointing. I’m using a teradek bolt 6 into a small hd cine 13. This system seems like it will be a step down but it also looks like it’s usable. Based on this video the DJI lidar features and price definitely justify it over going with let’s say a focus bug and arri hi 5. Of course those are high end systems but I’m not a career first AC so DJI seems like the way to go for me.
Yep… like commented in anamorphic shooters… you can't have it all at this price point. Latency seems totally fine for me, it's faster than the HDMI on some of my mirrorless. I have an old Arri SR "real time" transmitter and that one doesn't seem to be faster in a meaningful way. Teradeks are just so expensive and you can get burns from them, they get so hot

@@MediaDivision I have to sell my Tilta nucleus N and power grip first 😉. I have modded an Helios and bought a Sirui Saturn 35mm. The dji focus pro will just do wonders as a solo Filmaker. Your production level and detailed information is just mind blowing 🤯

Love the intro and parodies , just awesome! ❤ This is an amazing system and kudos to DJI. I just wish that it didn’t snap to other subjects when the tracked subject is covered or goes out of frame. But this is early days and I’m sure they could add this via firmware

Could you tell me what kind of camera support rig you used in this video ? It looks very interesting.
Totally my pleasure man… there are different ones. There is a Tita Float camera support arm and a DIY "ready rig" style gimbal support only using one arm.
