Yeah, idk why people still can’t grasp the difference between “kid-friendly” and “only for kids”. The idea that adults can’t play and enjoy Splatoon got old like 7 years ago. There are higher ranks for a reason. Smash is widely respected as a game for adults but Splatoon isn’t, even though they both have competitive scenes and an E10+ rating. I have absolutely nothing against Foamstars, but the discourse is just exhausting to me
@@dylantortosa7678Joking aside, why are the players so sweaty in this game? I thought it'll be a chill game but I get so tilted and embarrassed just constantly dying.
@@dylantortosa7678 I was referring to Splatoon. I have yet to play Foamstars, but from what I've played Splatoon, the players are just too sweaty for such a chill looking game.
Splatoon isn’t only for kids just like every other Nintendo game it’s for everyone tbh foamstars looks more likes it’s for kids I feel like if I showed both games to a child they would pick foamstars
Foamstars looks fun. One main difference that affects the pacing of the game between splatoon and Foamstars is the reload mechanic. Splatoon reloads when you are swimming which gives swimming a double use of reloading and speeding up meanwhile Foamstars has two separate mechanics. I hope it actually gains a substantial audience. It would provide good competition between the games.
looks like foamstars is having a lot of the same problems as splatoon so far! as much as i love splatoon, it has some REALLY big problems. map design, weapon balancing, bad weapon kits, shooter meta (which is fed by the previous two) etc. hopefully foamstars can give splatoon some competition so that the devs actually have to improve the game since it's not the only shooter in the genre anymore. also, splatoon is not only for kids! there's a healthy sized competitive scene where its pretty balanced in terms of age.
@aauz Splatoon 3 is getting better and the devs are putting in more of the effort and the current season is living up to it's hype with great weapon balancing and kits and maps the game is in fact growing and getting better and their have been more good decisions made with Splatoon 3 and hints why it's getting a mountain of positive feedback. Foamstar is dead on a arrival
Looks cool, but the reason why I stayed off Splatoon for the longest time (got into playing Splatoon 3 last year on release, my first game out of the three) was because of exclusivity. If they release Foamstars on PC, that’d be awesome.
Splatoon is a kid-friendly game, but not a kids game because of the competitions and it also has dark lore lmao (People are implied to literally get blended alive in the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC lol)
@@humanreal255 that's true! What I meant by competetive is that mostly adults or teens play that way, and for the dark lore [I'm very VERY into it lmaoooo], maybe I didn't really have to mention that lmao, but it also does show that Splatoon's for everyone and can have a much more complex story!
To be honest, i might want to play this. But DEFINETLY when they fix the fact that the foam is so bright. Splatoon is bright, too, but atleast they have a dark color, and a light one and i can tell which color is which if i were to use Grayscale.
I am surprised by how different from splatoon this ended up being. I had my doubts but the game looks pretty good for anyone who enjoys the slower play style and the environment. However, I am even more surprised by the lack of pushback after calling this game “splatoon for adults”.
I think Foamstars has potential as well, but I agree that calling it "Splatoon for adults" is just plain wrong lmaooooooooo It looks like Foamstars has Splatoon mechanics with a bit of Fortnite building (not slandering it because I play both regularly and planning to play both later), but as for the lore, it would probably be a bit simple lol (Fortnite has a deep and for some, confusing lore, and out of al the games I mentioned, I would consider Splatoon to have the darkest because of Kamabo Co. and the extinction of humanity lol). We'll have to wait and see if it has a good story or a story at all, but gameplay looks nice (I still prefer and likely will stick with Splatoon 3 tho)
Personally I think that the game looks fun in its own right, and I agree that the mechanics are unique enough to differentiate from Splatoon. But the reason I think most people still consider it a splat clone is because of its weapon design being very obviously Derived from Splatoon.
I didn’t get a chance to try out the game, but from a purely viewer standpoint it’s very difficult to distinguish one thing from another. There’s honestly too much happening on the screen to focus on the objective. All the glowing features of the map and background, as well as the foam itself, is too brightly colored and in your face. There’s a LOT of movement happening at one time, and although the experience may be different when actually playing the game, it still gives me a slight headache when staring a bit too long.
From what we have seen there does not seem to be. Guess it depends on how much the game will cost/ the shop situation. Is it F2P? Does it only cost $40 for pvp only?
I wouldn't say it's Splatoon for adults, since Splatoon has such a huge amount of adult players. I would say that this game is more for Western audiences who think that they need more realistic features in a game and like the design because it's what they think anime characters look like but don't really like anime. It seems okay; but I have all the Splatoons and I don't see myself going out and spending gobs of money on a console when I have one that I enjoy.
i get its a different type of game but a lot of little things are almost directly copied from splatoon (special meter, health indication) so i think most ppl who enjoy this will eventually either switch to splatoon or just to another shooter causing it to die in 2-3 months.
The other spawn ramps suggestion is actually quite cool, but an easy fix in my opinion would be to give a 10-15 sec hyper amour and damage buff when spawning back.
I don’t like how massive the projectiles are, they take up so much of the screen, plus with the multiple special attacks, it all looks so messy. Granted, “messy” was my original take on Splatoon and I love it now…
That's untrue because A Game like Nioh had a beta and it's game design was breakable weapons...thanks to feedback they made the weapons not breakable. Which is just one example but that's game design.🤡 Nice try tho
Aside from my other comment, I do think Splatoon has grown to be more than "you're a kid now, you're a squid/octo now", but I do hope Foamstars will be a push for the Splatoon devs to ramp up multiplayer content considering they have competition now lol
live service lmao Good luck with the claim that adults don't play Splatoon, as well. This is why Square is dying. They ain't getting that $2 billion they lost back, ever.
After playing it we as a team agreed that while look wise it has some similar parts, there is a lot here that if changes are made, could be a fun game.
I play splatoon a lot but I do think Foamstars has potential ((also good that we have competition now), but I heavily disagree with the title "Splatoon for Adults" lmaoo cuz Splatoon has pretty dark lore for an E for Everyone rated game
@@pls_stap_ finally something to make nintendo actually put meat into their updates, sure i doubt this will be as popular but realizing theres competition out there now they'll have to push up the updates with ya know... not scraps. also yeah exactly like for an E rated game splatoon has some fucked up lore like damn.
Splat honestly has more adults apart of its player base than games like COD
Then why do they all play like they're in the 4th grade

Good video, bad title though
Also they need to add camera options. More Zoomed out Camera options
Helps you see over the Foam, helps ppl understand more among the Chaos
That would be a good idea.
3:13 did i just hear a spoken autocorrect of “generic”?
Countdown let's go

they are even copying the communication errors from splatoon
square is just the publisher
toylogic is the dev
Great suggestions for Square, but you know Betas aren't used to improve game Design, just fix bugs & connection issues
