when the main problem of a game is that it has too many (optional) minigames, you know people really can't find any bad side in this game 😁

Needs to be on PC day and date, but also needs to bring back turn based combat. Final Fantasy fans want Final Fantasy, not Devil May Fantasy.

I would like only QB and chocobo racing to carry through part 3. Everything else can go. The chocobo-catching mini game sucked. I hope we won’t have to do that again.

They also need to rethink their pricing strategy (and commitment to DEI/ESG). I'm not sure who will be buying FF7 Rebirth full-price a whole year after release, Square won't touch the price and people aren't willing to overpay for a mediocre experience. Same thing applies to super-linear FF16 who has absolutely no replay value (the story is good the 1st time, but what about after?). Sure as hell ain't gonna pay for a DLC priced as a whole entire new game.

Maybe we do not want full retail price for a game that was already technically over a year old

because Sony is still stuck in the early and late 2000s thinking that making a title exclusive is going to drive console sales when in reality most people are using PC and will just waiting for the PC release or never play the game at all.

Hopefully, it’s the complete opposite of rebirth. Was not a fan of that one and is the first Final Fantasy game I never completed. The over abundance of mini games and lack of combat killed it for me.

Because they went mainstream like idiots. People want a real FF game for a change. BG3 proves you CAN stick with an OG formula and make it work. Turn based is long from dead. Also maybe don't release the game almost 2 years after it came out on PS5. It's like dating a girl after seeing her fuck another guy in your bed for the past 2 years knowing she will be "yours".

Couple things. They need to pick a combat/gameplay style and just build off it for a few games. Either VII:Rs or XVIs and just refine them. XIII-XVI and the VII:R trilogy none of them play the same. If its multiplat it needs to be same day as PS5. A full year after its not martketed the same way and flies under the radar. And tbh idk how it much matters i have a lot of friends on PC and NONE of them buy the Sony exclusives when they eventually get to PC TLOU, GoW, FF, horizon etc. Put them on switch 2 same day as PS5

The game just sucks and the main protagonist is a lousy typicall anime boy hero.

I come to play Final Fantasy for the Final Fantasy experience. If i want Devil May Cry i will play Devil May Cry.

The gameplay just isnt fun. No matter how great of a story will save a bland gameplay.

the problem with ff is that they nade it a fucking sausage fest. i want a female, perferrbably with bid tits, casting or summining in my party. i want a huge open world thats not on rails to get a sense of exploration. tales of arise kept thier formula. dragon quest kept thiers too. why the fuck would you attempt to go temu elden ring. idk ff is shit now. even 7 remake is a far departure of what it was.

commenting this before watching, but i feel like them being ps exclusive is only shooting themselves in the foot, for sales. almost every FF fan i know, doesnt have a ps5. and i assume TONS of other FF fans dont have ps5 either. so a huge portion of their fanbase, cant even play their games.

I couldn't agree more, square Enix needs to get better at making PC ports. FF 13 series is the absolute worst port I've ever played on PC.

Sociaal media is ruining every game these days, i guarantee u modt of people complaining about the minigames on rebirthing are just trolls and dont play the game in the first place, this game is legitiem packed with amazing content and yes the minigames are amazing aswel, sure not al are as fun but the fact they put so much work into this game is so amazing, especially when we are living in a generation where game producers are literally scamming us for our money

Lots of players had technical/performance issues. I guess a lot of them tried the Demo, it was broken for them and they didn't buy the full game

The issue with this is Your Facts Oh Tomb Raider sold well Then Square Enix Sold it off to Embracer. So Square Enix only has their Japanese Games & Life is Strange. Titanic look Great & Sounded Great then it met Ice.

Funny enough, if they put it on Xbox then microsoft mignt sign a deal to put the game on game pass for a month or 2. Some small change for SE if they do port. Maybe it'll recoup the cost of porting the game for that alone.

Square really needs to understand their own market. FF16 is far from being bad, but it marketed for action/dmc fans, while FF7R marketed for a long time old FF7 fans. Both are action hack n slash RPG and this couple years we already had a lot of action RPG. They need to look back at ff14 and figure out why people still willing to pay subscription for it and it ain't about the online, but the pure RPG element, the role, the class, the build. Not just button masshing galore.

FF16, like FF15 and FF13(13-2, Lightning Returns) are terrible games. If you want to be multi-platform, you should release the games on all supported platforms AT THE SAME TIME! No timed exclusivity, no preferential treatment for consoles or PC, nothing like that. If you're game isn't great, that's the only way to mitigate it. That's what happened here. FF16 is not a good game. It's fucking boring and bloated, and we know this, so waiting a year+ or whatever to release it on PC let us have plenty of time to see the shit for what it is..SHIT, so it's no wonder it sold terribly. FF16 is better than FF13, but that's basically rock bottom as far as I'm concerned so it's not hard to be better than that. The only good thing about FF15 was that it looked nice, and FF16 has that as well but almost everything else is worse. If they want to sell well, ignore any and all DEI bullshit, focus on making good CHARACTERS and a good STORY, drop the hack-and-slash bullshit, and go back to what made their games good (basically anything pre-FF11, except 8 which is pretty bad all around).

There are a lot of different reasons the naming , the gameplay differences in each game , the story , the exclusive title.

Square supporting and going to Sony instead of Nintendo was their biggest mistake and now they're desperately trying to turn it back. 😂 If they want to succeed they should release all their games on day one on Switch (and Switch 2) moving forward. That's where the biggest market is. Switch sells games like hot cakes and developers still downplaying the Switch is the stupidest thing one could do. Honestly kudoes to all the devs that supported the Switch. They earned bank on this platform. After the Switch the biggest money making platform is probably the PC. These two platforms should be their top priority moving forward. If not they can say goodbye to their brand.

My hopes for future Final Fantasy - Drop the hyper-realism, stop trying to be Game of Thrones, give us a somewhat traditional, maybe even somewhat generic, yet compelling fantasy story - like some of the older Final Fantasy games if they were made today. Also, high fidelity but stylized visuals, like Crystal Chronicles, or IX, or maybe the 3D DS remakes (but better). Personal preference would be towards Crystal Chronicles style and atmosphere though.

Alot of PC gamers have PS5 and probably played already especially in this economy hard to spend money just for better fps and graphics AND for damn sure 98% of PC gamers are cheap and just waiting for sales

Honestly, I would not be upset if they did a franchise soft reboot and just titled the next FF game "Final Fantasy".

The next FF game needs to be FF7R part 3. Then, very shortly after, within a year, they need to release a cross platform bundle of all three games across all consoles and PC. That would be HUGE. I purchased a PS5 JUST for FF16 and FF7 Rebirth. Both of which I loved, FF7 Rebirth I ADORED and put over 200 hours into it. Easily the best SE AAA Single Player release in years. If they can dial back the bloat and still keep a solid amount of content in the third game, it may just end up being my favorite game of all time.

FFXVI was in the same ballpark as God of War Ragnorok, which had a out 10k more, record concurrent players at 35k. So two different IPs, that are extremely similar, performed nearly the same on Steam. Its clear that these big budget games, need same day multi platform release to capture the hype wave that comes with these releases.

It's cool that they're focusing their efforts on the third game with no DLC slowing them down but it would still be nice to see some DLC later on down the line. I really enjoyed the intergrade DLC. Would be interesting to see the other characters in their own DLC arcs too.

I thought the game was great, but it had a really big missed opportunity with the combat. There was no incentive to actually use all of the combat mechanics. Some people go the entire game without even unlocking all the base combat mechanics or even realizing that you can view important details about eikon abilities in the menu because it never tutorializes you to show the details. The chronolith trials were in the right direction but they didn't even unlock until the game is almost over, and the reward for doing them was not good enough. Like you should have been able to level up or add customizations your abilities by actually using them effectively and passing trials for each ability or something, starting immediately from when you first learn them. But that being said, the lore, character development, voice acting, music, and the grand spectacle of it all was still extremely enjoyable. It's too bad they can never get the PC port done right, and they should've been multiplatform from the start.

Dude you have to do annoying mini games to finish some side quests when all you want to do is learn more about the lore. That’s one of the big put offs! To learn more about wedge and Jessie you have to do an annoying tedious mini game several times. If you don’t do it you miss out some key information. It’s not good game design.

Tried to appease new audience while forgetting the franchise core players...blurry and lacking graphics around the combat area (console), stupid and repetitive button mashing combat, poor endgame, very poor replay value, removed story content as DLCs, disastrous ending (I´m tired of this self sacrifice shit and everybody dying, FFXV was the same crap). FFVII Rebirth is a masterpiece in comparison

Oh no... Who would have guessed making an action RPG with shallow progression, a dull combo system, and removing an ounce of strategy, while making it extremely bloated in cutscenes that never end wouldn't make for a MUST HAVE game to own!? Don't get me wrong. Enjoyed the story, but you could literally watch this game on youtube, and feel like you got the whole experience. So it's no wonder that when it came out on PC... It sold poorly. This is a "game" sure, but nowhere near a must have. If it would have came out day 1 on all platforms... it would have sold better, but if you make timed exclusives. You have to make darn sure that your product is worth waiting for.

FF16 is amazing, it's one of my favorite games , but it's a action cinematic experience with a good gameplay like GOW 3 , not a ''Jrpg'' that sayd i buyed on ps5 and will not buy on pc just because they released after 2 years withouth improvements i think that the old square fanbase doesn't exist anymore because square itself killed the jrpg division to make into gatcha franchise and failed hard , people like me who play since snes just play anything regardless if is an action or an jrpg, we just like new things that are not a gaas
