    I got my 165hz monitor on Amazon over a year ago for $130 Canadian not on sale, so less than or around $100USD...and now I can hang with some of the worlds best Quake players. It was one of the best PC gaming purchases I have ever made. I went from being competent at Quake, to being top player on my team 9 games outta 10 and it is only Quake vets left playing. It is the biggest hardware related imrpovement ever. A good mouse and high hz monitor are essential. After over a year of use...zero complaints. If anyone wants the model and brand, I can get it, just escaping me at the moment. It came with a nice DP cable though.

    For anyone looking at this my H25T7 does work at 180hz VRR over HDMI. I did not test with the cable that came with it. I just hooked up an ultra high speed hdmi cable I already had and it did work. Set VRR to on in AMD adrenaline, went to Windows settings and changed hz to 180. I tested PUBG and no issues and that game was varying down to 92 FPS and as much as 200. I did not limit the FPS. I did also hook up a Series X and it showed VRR was enables on both the console and monitor. Fortnite also had some dips to 90s on there. But almost always stuck near 120. No noticeable issues. Seemed to work fine. That is the extent of my testing. Though it certainly was working for me. PUBG without VRR is a nightmare for me.

    I recently purchased one of their monitors and it's my first ever high refresh rate monitor. It's the 32 in 2k 170Hz monitor. I've liked it enough I'm planning on getting a second one for my set up.

      How is the color gamut and picture clarity? Have you noticed any flickering at high refresh rates?
      I recently got a KTC monitor as well but i went with the 27in 1440p IPS monitor at 170hz (w/display port) or 144hz (w/ hdmi).
      Ive been happy with it so far. I planned to use it in a dual monitor setup along with my old 27in Samsung 4k monitor that only does 60hz. I wanted something with a higher refresh rate for gaming so I figured I'd use the KTC when gaming and the Samsung for movies/streaming and both for when I'm web surfing, multitasking, ect..
      Although i am super tempted to get either the 32in monitor or another 27in but with the 240hz refresh rate that i missed out on whenever the next prime day deals come around.

Very impressed with this and would have been a solid deal at a higher price. Might grab another and use that last port on my GPU.

      Is it true what they say in the video about Amd Freesync only working with Displayport and not with HDMI on this monitor? I find that strange.

      @@JACKjcs I would like to know this as well. I have this monitor. On DP I get 180hz and no ghosting that I can see. I have other monitors that had minor ghosting and I notice it. Have been pleased with this. If nobody that get this puts a response here I will try and test this out in a few days. I'm interested to know what results you get with your tests, if you don't forget, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me how it went.
      As for Freesync, I think it can only be activated on PC? I don't have consoles so I have no idea if this is possible on them.
      In any case, thanks for answering.

    • @GuerreroUltimo
      @GuerreroUltimo หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JACKjcs So, here is what I did. First, I hooked up my Series X. It shows support for VRR with the Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable I used. It was not the one that came in the box. Sorry, I misplaced that one. I played Fortnite and turned on the counter. This showed that that game did vary down to as much as 92 fps for me. But mostly stuck at 120. Not issues, ghosting, tearing, or anything. So, i hooked that HDMI to my PC. I went into the AMD Adrenaline and it allowed VRR to be turned on. Was showing 1080p/60. I go into windows and set it to 180hz. Both Windows and the monitor are showing 180hz.
      I then jumped into some PUBG as that game seems to vary a lot on FPS. It would go anywhere from 90 up to about 200. Mostly sticking to around 160 range. Not only was there no issues the VRR certainly was working. It would be noticeable. I turned off VRR and you could see the difference.
      So, at least for my unit, I can confirm VRR works on HDMI.

    • @JACKjcs
      @JACKjcs หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GuerreroUltimo The terminology is a bit confusing but from what I've read, Freesync is just another form of VRR so technically they do the same thing, apparently (according to some posts on reddit and some comparisons on TH-cam) the name changes depending on the cable (Hdmi or DP), but little else.
      Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, I was worried that Hdmi would disable this feature but you confirmed that it works without problems.

    The day before this video, I had a 27" monitor literally fizzzzz out as I was using it. Saw this video and decided not to purchase the replacement one I was debating ordering, at about $500 Cdn. I said to myself - why not give your recommendation a try. Amazon got the KTC here next day and WOW! • @JACKjcs
    @JACKjcs หลายเดือนก่อน

    It would have been nice if the tests had been more technical and shown the results, the price of this monitor is too tempting.
    If someone can confirm that Freesync only works on Displayport and not on HDMI, I would appreciate it since everywhere they promote this monitor with its 180hz on HDMI and DP so Freesync should work on both, unless in the video they refer to Freesync PREMIUM and not the normal one, which is not specified.

    • @JACKjcs
      @JACKjcs หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm answering myself in case anyone else has the same question.
      Someone in a message above already confirmed that VRR (the same as Freesync) works without problems on HDMI cables, when using a Displayport cable the name will probably change from VRR to Freesync (or the other way around) in the menu of the GPU you're using because it depends on the cable (and the screen) but both options will do the same thing so there's no problem with what you use.
      There are plenty of comparisons here on TH-cam if you want to clear up any doubts.

    Too bad most higher end LCD manufacturers no longer produce 30" 21:9 1080p IPS 144-200Hz panels. Thus the lower segment monitor OEM's, like KTC, only have limited panel types to choices from, to create new monitor products with.
    Ever since the LCD manufacturers started pushing higher resolution panels several years ago, increasing the need for more powerful GPU's, the lower res 30" 21:9 ultrawide panels with good specs have all but vanished from monitor OEM product catalogues.
    Except from the products using low quality VA panels.
    Which IMO is a shame, since I believe a good 30" 21:9 1080p IPS 144-200Hz panel is worth while for budget orientated buidls that do not want or cannot invest in 1440p ultrawide.

    Hey man, I'm glad your doing a review on this specific monitor. I recently bought this monitor and am currently use this it for my PlayStation 4 and for some odd reason the colors appear off. When I play games like Outlast, I notice that dark areas in the game appear to have a sort of black mixed in with red hue to it, and it kind of looks bothering. Even after calibration I couldn't get the color to appear a regular black. I'm preparing to buy a different monitor soon but I would like to hear if you have any input on resolving this issue? I hear no one else talking about this, I don't know if it's because I'm used to a different color scheme, or if these colors are actually true, but some input would be nice.

    I honestly wouldn't mind if more "premium" monitors lowered actual prices and didn't include cables, allowing consumers to use that money to buy the lengths and types they actually want/need, as long as it's clearly stated on boxes and pages; I know that's an issue I run into myself with all these stock cables that don't fit my setups.
    That said, I know Big "Whoever" might make that move and claim savings / less e-waste without actually lowering costs.
