    I recommended my own monitor to an internet-buddy the other day as I'm very happy with it and it's quite affordable (I think). 1440p Iiyama Red Eagle 32'' non-curved, 165 Hz, IPS, 1ms, FreeSync, blah, blah ... and it's currently even less expensive than when I bought it (€280 vs 245). It also has a very nice stand plus integrated speakers and a 4x USB hub. Only problem is... you can't seem to get Iiyama in the States. I looked for that thing all over all the usual US PC parts vendors I know, but nobody seems to be selling the brand over there

    What we also need to see is the specification for the HDMI and DP ports. It's no good saying it's a 180Hz display if the HDMI will only do 60Hz and yes I'm a PC gamer so it wouldnt make much difference to me but for console players that would be a deal breaker.

I appreciate the ability to reduce to a 24 inch window though haven't gotten a chance to see it person. It seems to consume a lot power especially imagining it paired with a graphics card having to work harder. I'm concerned I will have to lower the resolution output to stop consuming so much energy.

    Sometimes the poor man pays twice though. I bought a LG gp850 about 4 years about for $500aud. It works as good as the day i got it and I have no need for an upgrade.
    My Mrs on the other hand because her setup was more budget oriented got some cheap Acer 144hz 1080p thing for $150. Last about 8 months. Got an Asus one, same specs etc that last 2 years. Bought a gigabyte one on clearance for $150 and it has dropped half a dozen pixels in 6 months.
    They obviously have their place though and if you're only just getting into gaming I could never recommend paying $500+ on a monitor.

    hey guys, love your videos. I wasn't even looking to buy a new monitor but I did! Mine old one was quite a few years old and only 1080p.
    I looked on Amazon and the KTC 27" monitor was available for $105 so I bought it. A nice improvement over my old monitor it looks great. Thanks!

    The GOATED budget 1440p monitors right now are the Dell G2724D and MSI G274QPF (non QD) at $150. Both get over 420 nits peak brightness even 500 for some Dell panels), both have good response times and out of box factory calibration. Dell gets slightly brighter and has better contrast, and allows HDMI forum VRR for PS5, the MSI has a wider color gamut.
    At $150, both of these monitors destroy every monitor in your video.

      Why spend so much on a small monitor instead of plugging the hdmi into an HD TV???

    • @Pruflas-Watts
      @Pruflas-Watts หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @HulktySSJ2 A decent monitor has better response times at every refresh rate. In the case of the Dell g2724D, the response times at 60hz and 120hz are much more responsive than any HDTV that is not a newer OLED. Also pixels per inch. Most console games render at 1200 - 1440p internal resolutions and look better on a 1440p monitor for that very reason, including 4k signals down sampled to 1440p. Also, cost effective and space saving.

      @@andreamaral9725 No. Curved VA monitors have terrible viewing angles and dark smearing. That's not an opinion that's just how they are.
