    Can this distributor be repined to a non obd or obd0 jdm b16a and run it no issues I have a jdm b16a that’s been chipped and tuned with an sst chip.

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not 100% sure since I haven't ever worked on an non OBD or OBD0 engine, but as far as the wiring pinout, and the plug connection type. This distributor is identical to a factory OBD1 Honda distributor. So if it works for that, it will work for this.

    Hello mate and 1st of all nice presentation and very informative vídeo 👍👌. Quick question, is there any harm to the engine if i set my timing just a liiiiitle bit off center (the plastic pointer in between the middle mark and the advance mark (like 0.5 almost 1 degree advanced)?
    Before i installed the new distributor i made sure to check the timing position on the old one, on operating temperature, but the timing position is a little more retarded on the new distributor (i installed exactly where the old one was sitting) and so i had to advance a tiny bit more to match (give or take) where the timing was on previously on the old one.
    I don't know if you'll ever see my comment but i would appreciate very much 👍

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, it doesn't matter which way you had to turn your distributor, as long as the timing marks are lined up correctly when you set it with the light you are good to go. That should be 16 degrees before top dead center

    • @NRT_InsertCoin
      @NRT_InsertCoin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your reply mate, appreciated 👍. So as long as the plastic arrow on the timing belt cover is either on one of the 3 marks there's no issues regarding engine knocking or under powered correct?

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have a OBD2 distributor! I'm guessing off of a 99-00 civic si (em1) I have a b16a3 out of a del sol VTEC 1995, which is an OBD1 car!

      @@kraftingkars ahhh that helps so much. Do you think i should buy a distributor that has an OBD2 plug or can i just buy an adapter harness? Also if i do the adapter harness route will my car throw any codes or cel?

    • @kraftingkars
      @kraftingkars  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Izimas Simplest route would be just to stick with an obd2 distributor with one plug. There really is no advantage running OBD1.
