Mexico and Japan is an unexpected (but very real) friendship. When I was in japan I visited a taco stand run by a Japanese guy who lived in Mexico for 20 years. Dude had a mustache and a sombero and everything. Lol
True. I’ve been to both Mexico City and Tokyo, love them both. Also, Mexico and Japan are both countries full of short people. Lol. I’m 6’2” and I felt like Godzilla in both countries
Mexico was the first Latin American country to recognize India after its independence in 1947. We do not share language, borders or history yet India has a deep connection with Mexico. For starters, Octavio Paz is highly regarded here. The Green Revolution was successfully introduced first in Mexico and then in India in the 1960s which fed millions of my countrymen who would otherwise have died of starvation. The credit in this case goes to the most deserving Nobel Prize winner ever in my opinion, Dr. Norman Borlaug, the great American scientist. Also, there is an old couple in Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) who have been to many football world cups and upon asking which country best organised the event, they replied : Mexico. Melba Pria, Mexico's ambassador to India is also quite popular in India. A beautiful country inhabited by beautiful people (nevermind the cartels). Love and respect from India. P.S: I watched the whole advertisement for you Barby!
I'm a Mexican living in Canada and some of my best friends here are from India and we really enjoy talk about our cultures because we always find that Mexicans and Indians are very similar. I really want to travel to India someday :D
@@adrian_mordecai4221 True. We are quite similar. You must have surely heard about Gabriel Iglesias aka Fluffy. I find him hilarious. His standup on India was not only funny but accurate as well. You should definitely visit India.
There's a community of Punjabi-mexicans in California, they were much larger before, but that relationship exists. My partner is actually 3/4ths Mexican, 1/4 South Asian, we assume from the Punjabi region. We're both fans of Indian cuisine and really want to visit.
Not to mention that Mexico and the rest of Iberoamerica was called "The Indies" because.. well you know, the Spaniards thought they had arrived to India when they first came to America in the XVI Century. Not long ago natives were still called Indians in Mexico, with only recently opting to use the word "Indigenous" instead. So, to this date we find it difficult to call Indians from India "Indios" (the ]Spanish word for Indian) because well for us it means a native indigenous people from Mexico. We tend to call all Indians (from India) Hindus, although most of us know that's incorrect, and always find ourselves confused because we know we should say Indios (to refer to people from India), but it's just so hard haha. Anyway.. So what I'm trying to say is that in essence we were the other India for the longest time while being called New Spain (more than 300 years). So that's us. Spain, Natives from Mesoamerica, Natives from North America, and the Indian essence somehow embedded in us ^^ And in modern day Mexico we have people with heritage from all over the world, literally. Mexico became the country name after independence just because that was the capital (Mexico City) of New Spain, but Mexico is a lot more than just Mexica heritage with so many different cultures, just like in India, that make up the conglomeration of what is called Mexico today. Also, we share the commonalities of a vibrant and colorful culture that likes to eat spicy food :) I wish there was more presence from India in Mexico, both culturally and in popular culture. We need to import some of those awesome dream-like Bollywood movies :) At least we have Barbara Mori to represent us in that aspect and give us a little bit of Bollywood :) I feel that slowly but surely there's a lot more presence from India in Mexico, with lots of new Indian Cuisine restaurants opening all over the country and much more exposure to Hinduism and yoga, etc. Something that was not seen when I was growing up. I personally hold India very dearly in my heart
The dead never really leave us. They stay in our hearts and our minds. And they come to the earth every día de los muertos. Stay strong friend. Greetings and a lot of love from Coahuila, México.
And we are so very grateful for the wonderful things the Lebanese brought to Mexico, which made our culture even more rich. I'd really love to visit Lebanon one day.
My favorite tacos r tacos al pastor which came from the Lebanese immigrants so thank you just for that and of course Selma Hayek who believe has Lebanese heritage
Mexico was the only country to protest against the Austria annexation by the Nazi Germany in 1938 (the Anschluss) at the League of Nations. Due to this act, the city of Vienna named a famous park in the city as "Mexikoplatz".
Tuve la oportunidad de visitar esa plaza el mes pasado que estuve ahí, hay una placa conmemorativa en español y alemán explicando el por qué se le dió ese nombre :)
After 2 years living in Mexico City, and travelling across the country many times to make videos... PLEASE DON'T GO THERE! I'm a Filipino I can say that Mexican is the toughest opponents of the Filipino boxer. If a Filipino boxer got asked by a local media they say Mexican is the toughest opponent.
I'm not Mexican, but I relate so much to what he said at the end. Laugh at the face of destruction, there's a ton of problems and drama, but they play colourfully and dance with death, and ironically, it fuels them with more life. That, my friend, filled my eyes with tears. I relate. Viva Mexico.
i'm egyptian and that's pretty much exactly how we would describe our national attitude. go swimming in the floods, play hopscotch on cracked droughted land, cough a lively tune in the polluted streets of cairo, and most importantly, laugh at your dictators when they try to assert their power in the stupidest ways.
Dios Mio, Filipinos should watch this! I'm so amazed how Philippines and Mexico has a lot of similarites! I can't wait to grow older, have some money and travel Mexico.
There's a lot influence from México in your country because a lot of Mexican people were taken to your country by the Spanish crown, that is why you guys have tamales and pozole.
Salvador Dali a famous Surrealist painter once said he couldn’t stand the fact that Mexico was more Surreal than him, when he left he said he felt like he woke up from a dream he wanted to see again , I was Born and Raised in Mexico 🇲🇽 I have been very blessed to travel the world and meet more cultures and people from all walks of life and all I can say is, Life is short Travel to Mexico. I’m not saying it is the best country in the world, but it’s magical there’s no time in Mexico and Party’s never end, We love to meet others as well, we consider friendships as goals in Life ! Thanks for all the❤️
I have always thought of the phillipines as the Mexico of Asia because of the notable spanish influence in your culture. Many Mexicans and Mexican-Americans fought and died in World War 2 defending and retaking the Phillipines from the Japanese Empire. Lots of love from Mexico ❤
I visited Mexico for the first time this year and fell in love. Such a beautiful country with rich history and incredibly welcoming people. Saludos de Cuba🇨🇺/USA! Viva Mexico!
We love Chile too! We can’t get enough of Chile’s delicious wine and we love visiting your beautiful country. Chilean hospitality makes us feel right at home, food’s always spectacular, and Chile’s landscapes are insane! ¡Viva 🇨🇱, mierda!
As a Filipino I consider Mexico to be one of the best friend countries - so much so that we do have a city in Pampanga province named Mexico (but read like in English). Some of my funnest and closest friends are also from there, and in my uni I consider myself culturally more affiniated to them than to other Asians. Anyhow, colonial Philippines was governed from Mexico (then New Spain) and most of the colonial influence came through them. For instance, Philippine Spanish is closely based on Mexican grammar and vocabulary. The Manila-Acapulco Trade was also an important link between our countries. And about Pacquiao: I did ask some Mexicans about him and generally they do like him as a sportsman; some even are fans of him. On the other hand, many Filipinos do support some of his most significant opponents as well, such as Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barerra, Juan Manuel Marquez, and of course Oscar de la Hoya. ¡Felicidades y saludos compañeros mexicanos desde Filipinas! ¡Hermanidad pacifico para siempre!
awpdog I going to give you an Interesting fact. The original Mexico was only State of Mexico, Mexico City, and some part of Puebla. Our ancestors decided to give the name of Mexico to the whole country, because it was the part with more people in all New Spain. What keep all the states of Mexico together is our Spanish heritage.
Filipinos are amazing y'all have good food were super similar you guys are basically our distant primos plus I relate to y'all. My closest friend is Filipino herself. I'm excited for the Philippines episodes and love from a Mexican!
Wow excellent video! I’m absolutely obsessed with Mexico, but still didn’t know a lot of the cool facts y’all put in this video! QUE VIVA MEXICO CABR0NES!
There is no such thing as the Sonoma Desert. Sonoma is a city in California. There is however the Sonoran Desert. The butterfly preserves are not found in Patzcuaro. Pátzcuaro is a town named after Pátzcuaro lake where butterfly net fishermen fish for white fish,if it has not been fished to extinction. The butterfly preserves are located in the oyamel forrests of eastern Michoacán. Some are also found in Mèxico state. Mèxico is not the biggest Spanish speaking nation. It is however the country with the biggest population of Spanish speakers. This is more correct as Argentina is bigger in size.
Eres chileno? Bueno, entonces hablas español. Hay un monton de lugares que puedes visitar, solo toma tus precauciones porque algunas zonas son muy peligrosas (tanto de forma naturalo como hablando de delincuencia)

Fun fact: Mexico and Japan are somewhat rivals in the "Little League World Series" as the two have had the most matchups for the international champions.
Because every country except the US have the best players on one team where the US is split up regionally. Not even the best in each state on the same team, let alone country. I still don't understand why.
Brazilians love Mexico. We grew watching mexican soap operas and mexican series, Chapolin and El Chavo del Ocho (Chaves as it is known in Brasil). Some mexican soap operas became classic to us and these series are watched here since the 80's, almost uninterruptedly.
Yeah, I've heard Brazilians are crazy for La Usurpadora and Maria la del Barrio lol Tbh until Roberto G. Bolaños died I didn't know how much you guys loved their programs.
Here in the Netherlands the government freaks out when there are leafs on the road meanwhile there are random volcanoes poping out of the ground in Mexico.

I love Mexico. I am Filipino-Canadian born and raised in the Philippines but living in Canada for 11 years now. Growing up I have a good idea about Mexico but my interest to learn more about the country was during my first trip to Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta 2 years ago. It was strange because I felt like I was in the Philippines, the streets and the landscapes look the same, the old building and churches, and the culture is almost the same. Of course, it has something to do with Spanish colonialization. Although the Philippines is far way in Asia but many Filipinos and Mexicans actually looks the same. I going back to Mexico next month, this time I am visiting Guanajuato.
Funny that you mentioned Mexicans and Filipinos are alike when we have Chinese, Italians, Jewish, Africans, Lebanese, Turkish, Japanese decendents in our land. Depending on what side of the country you visit is a different type of Mexican you will see. Filipinos have flat and wide nose that is how you can recognize them from a full latino and even between latinos we know who is who because of the accent.
@@athunderstorm4456 Like Mexico, the Philippines is a very diverse country. We have regions that are descendants of the Malayan race, Indo-Chinese, Hispanic, and Americans. Over the course of centuries, inter-marriages produces ambiguous looking population. My mom is one-third Chinese but my dad looks Hispanic. I look more Asian but my siblings could pass as Latinos., especially my sisters.
Love from Mexico to our Filipino brothers. We indeed share so much culture. Some would say that Filipinos share more in common with Mexico than they do with the neighboring Asian countries.
México and Philipines have a centuries of history bounds, the México state of Guerrero is the place with more "blood" from this Asían country, the Mango Manila and palms trees that are everywhere in this state are from Philipines, Acapulco/Manila for centuries was the only trade rute between América and Asia.
...yeah...no, we really hate you because you're the only ones who beat the hell out of us in boxing hahaha we hate you as much as we fear you in boxing hahaha...jokes aside we reaaaaally respect and love pacquiao!!!!

Mèxico es en mi corazón siempre
Your welcome gringo friend :D, it's really good to see how despite all that Trump's policies and stuff we are still like the best friends, I have gone to the US and I haven't feel like discriminated or something, greetings from Mexico 🇺🇸🇲🇽❤
@MrMarmalad yes! Sorry, I just realized my comment was not super clear. In 1938 Mexico was the only country to formally protest against the annexation of Austria by the Nazi Germany (With the risks of upsetting the Furer). There's a square named Mexikoplatz in Vienna, to honour the support Mexico gave to Austria back then.
Hi Hari Haran I'm Mexican and I admire so much your country, specially all about the Hindu religion, greetings from a sincere fan of that beatiful and amazing country (India) from Mexico City.
Elena Hermine Regal And we are so happy that people of others countries (like the amazing Germany) come to visit us, have a GREAT time in my country!!!!
I'm an Italo-Mexican. I descend from one of the Italian waves of immigration to Mexico. I've visited Mexico several times, specifically the state of Chihuahua where most of my family is from. It's absolutely beautiful! I've gone several times and have stayed at an uncle's ranch everytime I need to feel reconnected with nature, with my self, there's a very healing energy there.
Yeah! Exactly like that! I take off my shoes and socks and I walk by myself, quietly, I become attuned to God, to nature, to myself, the chatter in my head stops, I'm able to just finally "be there" I'm able to finally "be present" when I get the privilege of walking in land that no one else has walked in, in millennia, I can't describe it, it's powerful, when I lay or sit somewhere and I recieve the rays the Sun gifts to Mexico, no I can cry actually, they're healing, I'm convinced that there are points of contact there, there's something very special. I come back energized, ready, decisive, it's a gift! I'm a sensitive soul and God gifted me with legitimate roots in Mexico for a reason, so that I wouldn't just go once in my life but as many times as I could, to eventually when the season comes ground myself there and unite with all that is.
13:52 Olmecs.. We have this statue of Mexican Warrior( if i am not mistaken) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was a gift from Mexican Government to Ethiopia as a sign of good relationship. It use to be situated at the heart of the city's busiest square "Mexico Square" until new road Construction undertaken on the area. The statue is still kept at the National Museum of Ethiopia. Amigos, we Ethiopians owe you gratitude for what you have done for us. At that dark day of Italian Invasion, you were there standing out and condemning the crime along with some other nations(5 may be). Muchas Gracias!
There's a roundabout in Mexico City with two metro stations called "Etiopía" as well! It's a symbol of the friendship between both countries and Mexico's support of Ethiopia during the Italian invasion
The reason why Ethiopia and Mexico have a so close relationship is because Mexico was the only country that objected the Italian Empire invasion of Ethiopia on the UN in the Second World War
Mexico seems amazing. I'm Brazilian and I like to say that a lot of Brazilians have a lot of good memories in childhood with El Chavo de las Ocho and El Chapulin Colorado. For this I just have to say, GRACIAS MÉXICO! Gracias for Chespirito and gracias for being cool and awesome!
I told them that we were good friends with Brazil despite our language barrier 😭 and because we are both the faces of Latin America. .... But they didn't believe me!
I was an exchange student, but I went in costa rica despite I desperately wanted to go to Mexico. I think it's a fascinating country and was always one of the most influential countries in Latin America, even in ancient times. Love from Italy, even if you guys stole our flag (joking 😂) Viva il Messico e l'Italia! ❤️🇲🇽🇮🇹
Ciao! The way you pronounce the name of our country is closer to the Nahuatl (indigenous Mexican) original than in Spanish, so maybe you stole the pronunciation in return ;)
I know this post is 3 months old but I hope you read it.if you are coming to Mexico and are Italian you CONNOT miss going to Chipilo Puebla. Chipilo is a small colony of Italians settlers. You will feel like you are back home. I highly recommend it. You can make a day trip of it from Mexico City.
México es ahora mi segundo hogar y lo Amo! Su gente, su cultura, su comida me embruja. Colombiano de corazón, pero ahora soy hijo de México. Thanks for showing the world the real Mexico, not the stereotypical undeveloped country.
Soy de Rusia y querria mucho ir a Mexico alguna vez, pero el viaje cuesta tan mucho y no puedo costearmelo por ahora. I'm from Russia and would like to go to Mexico very much, but a trip costs so much and I can't afford it for now. You're right that it's a bit expensive to live in Moscow, but sadly I can't tell you anything about other regions, because I live and study in Moscow, so I don't have much time to go to visit other cities. And yes, I think we treat latinos here very well, there are many of them in the university where I study, and I personally have more than 10 friends from Latin America, because I speak Spanish.
I'm a Native in Canada, I always get mistaken as Mexican by Mexicans. They're always really nice, usually coming up to me and talking like they already know who I am, they're always happy to hear I am native and always mention how beautiful the land is. I hope to visit Mexico so when I am approached I can complement their country as well.
When you say mexicans you mean real mexicans from México who knows Méxican isnt a race or the americans who think just because their ancestors whete from México means they are mexican
soy tripulante filipino y he estado en México una vez hace dos años. en Veracruz particularmente. me enamoré con su país hermanos mexicanos. comidas ricas, chicas lindas, y playas magníficas.. Mucho amor y saludos desde Filipinas!
I would not call the Philippine-Mexican relations "random." More than 400 years of realtionship is very significant, starting from 1565. It is more apparent during the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade. This galleon trade open the western world to the east. Basically the Philippines is the gateway of asia to the Americas and probable the old world, through Mexico. The Philippines back then was administered through Mexico until its indipendence. I also reckon that because of this, it was Filipinos, know as Chinos de Manila back then, who were the first asian to have contact with Latin America and not the Japanese. There were reports of almost 200,000 Mexicans with Filipino descent if I am not mistaken. The Tuba (alcohol made from sugar cane or coconut), the distilling process of which was the origin of Mezcal and tequila-making,and Mango de Manila was one of the result of such interaction. Mexican influence was also apparent here, and yes we do celebrate dia de los muertos, which makes Mexico not the only catholic country to do so. Locally called Araw ng mga Patay (Day of the Dead in Tagalo), although it's not as festive as the Mexican do. We also have couple of words derived from nahuatl (e g sayote, tiangue, palenque, atsuete, etc) Back then we speak Spanish derive from Mexican Spanish dialect until we disconnected ourselves to the greater hispanic brotherhood. We removed spanish from our 1987 Constitution in favor of english and tagalog. Americanization started in 1902 here, our Hispanic culture started deteriorating and leaning towards americanized tagalog-centric culture. Simply put, Filipinas and Mexico are sister-countries. From the galleon trade to being spanked with sinturon (belt) and chinelas (slippers) by our parents from childhood to our shared faith. I hope more Filipinos rediscover our beautiful century-old friendship. ¡ Viva la amistad de las islas Filipinas y Mexico, adelante ! Desde Ciudad de Manila, Filipinas. 🇵🇭 🇲🇽
@amelali We don't actually celebrate it but we go to cemeteries on that day to give respect to the dead and we also eat different food on that day like biko, etc.

Actually there is a lot of Italian inmigrants in Mexico since our Independence from Spain after the bussines treaty with the Regno di Piemonte-Sardegna in 1855, you can find out how was and still is Italian inmigration in Mexico in this documentary (sorry, is only in Spanish) th-cam.com/video/rarJz3ojAHw/w-d-xo.html Greetings from Mexico.
There are certain countries in which Mexicans have a special place in their hearts, Italy is one of those countries! _Italian cuisine_ wouldn't be the same without *tomato,* which is a plant originally domesticated in Mexico, and now the tomato is one of the _essential ingredients_ in Italian cuisine. _Italian gelaterias_ wouldn't be the same without *vanilla* and *chocolate,* which are of *Mexican* origin too! The famous _Caesar salad_ is a Mexican dish created by Italian immigrants living in Mexico, and as a matter of fact, the Cardini family is still living all around Mexico, you still can eat Caesar salad at the various Cardini restaurants in Mexico. Those are just some proofs that Mexicans and Italians get smoothly along with each other.

Mexico was the only country to protest against the Austria annexation by the Nazi Germany in 1938 (the Anschluss) at the League of Nations. Due to this act, the city of Vienna named a famous park in the city as "Mexikoplatz".

What keep all the states of Mexico together is our Spanish heritage.
awpdog So, something that helps to Filipinas and Mexico friendship is our Spanish background.
awpdog You are forgetting Julio Cesar Chavez the greatest Mexican boxer of all time.
The Phillipines is also a member of the "Latin Family" ! Tagalog has lots of words of Latin and Spanish origin!

So, did you go to Guanajuato?
Love from Mexico to our Filipino brothers. We indeed share so much culture. Some would say that Filipinos share more in common with Mexico than they do with the neighboring Asian countries.
México and Philipines have a centuries of history bounds, the México state of Guerrero is the place with more "blood" from this Asían country, the Mango Manila and palms trees that are everywhere in this state are from Philipines, Acapulco/Manila for centuries was the only trade rute between América and Asia.

Kinda like,recharge your batteries?..haha.
Jason Bellini ayyyyy I’m half Italian and Mexican too!!!

The African motherland where all humans come from :) Much love to Ethiopia
The reason why Ethiopia and Mexico have a so close relationship is because Mexico was the only country that objected the Italian Empire invasion of Ethiopia on the UN in the Second World War

Love from Italy, even if you guys stole our flag (joking 😂) Viva il Messico e l'Italia! ❤️🇲🇽🇮🇹
yeah we have the same flag but we have an eagle and its cool 8) lol
You stole our tomatoes first to make your precious "spagget" and your "pritza", or as I like to call it, an open taco with an extra THICC tortilla.
I want to go to Italy! but, the Mexican flag was before the Italian unification, isn't it?

México es ahora mi segundo hogar y lo Amo! Su gente, su cultura, su comida me embruja. Colombiano de corazón, pero ahora soy hijo de México. Thanks for showing the world the real Mexico, not the stereotypical undeveloped country.
Espero México y Colombia sean más unidos, grandes amigos hispanos
Soy Mexicano y lo mismo pienso yo
Chido, parce !
Mainly because they export all their poor people to the US.
Soy de Rusia y querria mucho ir a Mexico alguna vez, pero el viaje cuesta tan mucho y no puedo costearmelo por ahora.
I'm from Russia and would like to go to Mexico very much, but a trip costs so much and I can't afford it for now.
Pero espero que ustedes vengan a Rusia, vi mucha gente de Mexico en Moscu durante el Mundial.
Spasiba
Is Russia expensive? Or is only expensive in Moscow and St Petersburg? I've also heard that you treat latinos well, unlike the US.
Dmitry Lebedev i'm from mexico and it's just a poor country with a bland and vapid culture don't waste your money

My native Nayarit... Beautiful
And the best part is you're not legally allowed on it for the foreseeable future!
They filmed part of "Predators" there. Check the special features.

Hola deste Los Estados Unidos.
🇵🇭 🇲🇽
It is also stated that Mexico and other latin american countries learned the Sabong or cockfight from Filipinas.
I didn't know you have Palenque and tianguis over there.
Yeah we are half siblings. Same Spanish mother different father. Siblings nevertheless
Nahuatl, not ''nuahtli''.
@amelali We don't actually celebrate it but we go to cemeteries on that day to give respect to the dead and we also eat different food on that day like biko, etc.
Don't forget the 201st squadron during WWII. We fought for your freedom! Viva México y Filipinas!
VIVA MÉXICO!!! We have traveled across 8 countries in Latin America and Mexico has a SPECIAL place in our hearts. Its people, music, traditions, rich culture, food... WOW. We actually always say we feel part Mexican :D We are celebrating Dia de Muertos this year. Mexico is seriously the best country.
People here say that "A Mexican can be born wherever he/she wants" Which basically means that if you embrace the culture as yours, no matter where you are from, you can certainly call yourself a Mexican ;) Greetings!
@@davidacvs That's amazing :) I didn't know you said that in Mexico. Well, somos Mexicanos! :)
that's what you say, check mexico with a perspective of a mexican
@@uprising5199 I can definitely understand that. I know that salary is way too low, there are dangerous situations for Mexicans... BUT... We were only talking about the wonderful people we've met, the unreal natural landscapes, the art, music, food... It's SUCH a culturally rich country. But it is a sad reality that there is a negative side to the country especially in the locals' perspective :(
@lilcrazychon Haha that makes me (Maya) so happy :D :D Thank you for watching and enjoying our videos! :)
I think I'm in love with Mexico and it's amazing spots, culture etc. I hope to visit one day! :)

Which Chile does less.
En Mexico es muy popular la musica y televison Colombiana iana..

Well yeah, we're both Latin nations lmao.
