Just some fan facts: According to a theory, our ancestors descended from 3 main ethnic groups migrating to the islands. The second wave (composed of 2 groups) are Indonesians. (Although I don't believe and the fact the theory is officially debunked in present day. And which Indonesians?) Indonesia supported our claim to Sabah while claiming Sarawak. In the Philippines, if you're a tourist, you'll always be addressed as "Sir" or "Ma'am" everywhere you go, especially in malls and shops. @@thescarlethunter2160 I don't think Japan would be classified as a 'friend' only, but more than just a 'friend'. If you look at the historical and economic dichotomy of the two, they share a lot of interests and the relationship between them drastically changing after WWII. From Garcia to Duterte, their relationship remained stronger. Not to mention that Duterte despite shifting economic alliance to China and Russia, the way they saw Japan didn't change. I saw a lot in the news here in Mindanao that Japan helped us a lot, the Yolanda funds and Marawi siege gave us foreign aid (but US sent more than Japan), and Japan also helped us even more than South Korea helped us. In fact, we helped South Korea more than South Korea helped us (but I didn't say South Korea didn't helped at all) during the Korean War and until today. All I say is that: "Japan deserves more to be on the 'best friend' status, because of economic, security and political friendship bonding with each other." I think the reason why the Filipinos told to GN that South Korea is one of the Philippines' best friends (although SoKor can be our 'best friend'), is BECAUSE OF K-POP and KOREABOOS flocking the entire country. (I wouldn't say fanboying/fangirling K-Pop is bad, but too much is too much.). The media in the Philippines highlights more on Japan helping the Philippines and Philippines helping Japan.

Well, Filipinos living in the Phillipines never considered ourselves as pacific islanders 😂. Never even heard of it till the recent past. We've always considered ourselves asians. To be specific south east asians.
Indonesians come from Philippines then to Borneo then to their homeland the theory said 😳😳😳. Their ancestors in our land got wiped or assimilated by our present day ancenstors, so thats why nearly all Philippine languages sound similar
that's because phillipinos aren't technically asian... look into their history and you'll realize they don't possess the typical asian genetics and aren't rooted in any actual asian things, their people have historically been closer to black people, go look at their history lol maybe a shade lighter like cambodians/or the darker indian people, then the spaniards colonized them and began mixing with them and their people have been OBSESSED with skin lightening for decades now, they are literally the country that make up the large majority of sales of skin whitening products it's so sad! more than india, and they made up a lot!!! they are way closer and are actually related to polyneasian peoples than actual asian, they don't relate to the sinosphere at all ( china, vietnam, korea, japan) and are way closer to the indosphere (india, lao, cambodia, thailand, burma, malaysia)
@@Dominicn123 we filipinos are asian. we look very similar to cambodians, thais, indonesians, malaysians and vietnamese. we even share cuisine with our neighbors despite being spanish influenced. that is why chinese food is not alien to my taste. also sinosphere is not the only true asia since there is a big chunk of russia, middle east and south asia. therefore, asia is not unified culturally and linguistically.
Filipino people is the only one asian people with latino soul. They always smile and happy, they have a great capacity to face positively and with patience all the problems of life. Just some fan facts:
According to a theory, our ancestors descended from 3 main ethnic groups migrating to the islands. The second wave (composed of 2 groups) are Indonesians. (Although I don't believe and the fact the theory is officially debunked in present day. And which Indonesians?)
Indonesia supported our claim to Sabah while claiming Sarawak.

Sorry to exclude Japan as one of the best friends of Philippines. South Korea is close to the Philippines, but not as very close as Japan.
GreenMordo for me the Philippines classified japan as a friend
The media in the Philippines highlights more on Japan helping the Philippines and Philippines helping Japan.

that's because phillipinos aren't technically asian... look into their history and you'll realize they don't possess the typical asian genetics and aren't rooted in any actual asian things, their people have historically been closer to black people, go look at their history lol maybe a shade lighter like cambodians/or the darker indian people, then the spaniards colonized them and began mixing with them and their people have been OBSESSED with skin lightening for decades now, they are literally the country that make up the large majority of sales of skin whitening products it's so sad! more than india, and they made up a lot!!! they are way closer and are actually related to polyneasian peoples than actual asian, they don't relate to the sinosphere at all ( china, vietnam, korea, japan) and are way closer to the indosphere (india, lao, cambodia, thailand, burma, malaysia)
