How about a big challenge…doesn’t have to be next as think will take some doing…. But I think you could rise to the challenge. Be nice to see a History of Gallifrey and how you piece together all the continuity and contradictions, not to mention the timeless child debacle.

    • @DoctorWhoHome1

Funny to think we saw probably a longer period in the doctors life in a few seconds of footage than the entirety of his life we saw in the series leading up to this!

Are we forgetting the 4 billion or so years he spent in that confession dial?
      So, half his age? Please!

I hate moffats massive time jumps for the doctor and his companions.
900 years, 600 since he last saw Clara and yet in series 8 he talks to her like their time has been the same as we’ve seen on screen. 600 years of life and relationships and friendships on trenzalore just get scrubbed out or negated as the plot cant deal with such a massive amount of time. It comes with too much baggage so we just ignore it. Just like Rory’s 2000 years that didn’t affect him in any way at all
So you think why even do it in the first place 🙄
Think of this way, The 14th doctor is going to meet Donna again for the 60th. In our terms it’s been 15 years since they last saw each other. But with Moffat, his massive jumps, gaps of time, 11 on trenzalore, 12 protecting the vault it’s now what?
Over 2000 years since he’s last seen her? And from an audience perspective it’s been pretty much the same amount of time for the doctor as it’s been for us. And that’s how it’ll be treated more or less. So dumb things like ginormous time jumps just really muddy the waters

Crazy to think you’ve just given me some heavy nostalgia for time of the doctor. For all of Moffat’s flaws, he really knew how to write the doctor at times and - most of - time of the doctor is a great example of that

    • @DoctorWhoHome1
      @DoctorWhoHome1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Time of the Doctor is one of the most Doctor Whoey stories of all time, it’s a true testament of his era, such fun Doctor who and you get all the best of Moffat (and I guess some of his issues but we can pretend they’re not there cause the stories GREAT)!

  • @ignacioblasco7971

According to Moffat in DWM (Speaking as the Doctor). "I can change the future so long as the future hasn't been already established as part of my own past. I can't rescue Amy and Rory because I already know I didn't. But what do I know about Trenzalore? There's a big monument that looks very like my TARDIS. There's a temporal fissure leading to my timeline. Maybe it's my grave. Maybe, one day, that's still where I get buried. Maybe it's something else entirely, and we all got it wrong. Don't know. Don't plan to find out for as long as possible. The main thing is, Clara still jumped into my time stream, and still ended up helping me all through my life. All that is established, unchanged - but there's wiggle room"
Which contradicts that what happened erased what the Doctor and Clara saw

Mate, I am so glad that I have found your channel. That was one of the best videos on Doctor Who that I’ve ever seen! Well done you. That story arc was sooo complicated and your vid is the only one I’ve seen to explain it so properly and so thoroughly. I must go and watch the Trenzalor stuff again as I’ve forgotten quite a lot of it and I only watched it recently. Again, that was brilliant mate, I’m going to go and watch all your videos. Good work as always. Love how you’ve rationalised events. Loved the whole Trenzalore story arc. Loved the way this tied his whole tenure up. Sadly however in reality we never got a full satisfactory proper wrap of for the Silence in my opinion. Shame. Very under-utilised, some unanswered questions for sure. Their arc felt a bit rushed. In the lodger from series 5 was that or was that not a Silence ship?….

    • @DoctorWhoHome1
      @DoctorWhoHome1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thank you very much! Yes I think although the story arc got tied up it was done VERY quickly, as for the silence ship that’s always bugged me too, maybe the avatar guys from the lodger killed all the silence or kept forgetting them and took over the ship, probs clutching at straws there and the set was just reused… I’ll leave big finish to tie it up!

    *11th Doctor Adventures 4 - Infinity*

*01: The Power of Thetus Sigmata*
    *By Patchwork Fellow*
_It’s a good day for Thetus Sigmata. Truly, it is._
_The work on his palace is complete, the slaves are back in check (following a surprise revolt he didn’t spot coming), and he’s checked the future, with nothing_ particularly _nasty on the horizon (safe for a slightly higher-than-average taxation, but oh well)._
_See, Thetus Sigmata has a power. When he “looks into the future”, he truly_ is _looking there. His skill exceeds the soothsayers of Rome, the Sibylline Sisters of Pompeii, even that Elijah bloke people kept talking about._
_He’s so_ very _famous, all across the Roman Empire. Truly, a man for the history-books._
_The Doctor’s never heard of him._
_But that’s because he doesn’t really_ exist.
_“Thetus Sigmata” is a trick, a hoax, a trap._
_A trap for the Doctor himself…_
*02: Doomsday on the High Street*
    *By AlternateThirteenth and Patchwork Fellow*
_Chellin Inc is devouring it’s Suffolk competitors, and there’s very little a small-fry newsagent’s like John, Hirrisarion & Co. can do to stop it._
    _Except, perhaps, call the Doctor._
_“John” is dead, so there’s only one person left to run the place; the smart, cool-headed and_ definitely human _James Hirrisarion (or just Hirrisarion to his friends). He’s got some information regarding the business, and how the shadowy Head Office is pulling in customers so ruthlessly quick._
_When the Doctor (finally) shows up and infiltrate the business by getting jobs inside, the pair have a lot to deal with. But exhaustive labour, callously long work-hours and rude co-workers are the least they have to deal with. Because the fearsome CEO, Mr Chellin himself, wants to see them._
_And the term “big business gobbling up everything else” might get more literal._
    *03: The Infinity People*
    *By Patchwork Fellow*
_The Doctor’s seeing doubles, and he isn’t liking it._
_Twice, he’s met the same people. Twice, they’ve all died._
_Twice, the only one he feels like he recognises was the villain._
    _Now, he’s had enough._
_Temporal trails from both sites lead to the same place, but when he follows it to it’s centre, he finds something strange; a ship from another universe, with a mere 5 people aboard. A ship… captained by Hirrisarion, an old frenemy._
_But Hirrisarion’s snark is not the threat today. Oh, no. The danger on the Doctor’s list today is himself. A himself from another universe, intent on genocide - and_ evil.
_And the Infinity People, all lying in helpless stasis around him, are his targets._
_But are they truly so helpless?_
