Rose, you need to get one of those can openers that uncrimp the lid instead of cutting through it. There are absolutely no sharp edges, and since nothing punctures the can, no part of the opener contacts the contents of the can.

As an American, I have to acknowledge the ease with which you immediately thought, "I need to go to the walkin clinic" without even thinking about it, then after telling how easy and quick the whole experience was. I just had total reversal shoulder replacement surgery. They gave me a nerve block in my neck, and my whole right arm just had a limp mind of its own. Lol. I couldn't feel anything the first 2 days after surgery. It's only been a couple of weeks post surgery, and I still need help from my husband to help with a lot of things... A LOT of things. Everything is such a chore, showering, getting dressed, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, eating. I'm a very independent person, and this being dependent on my husband for almost everything is driving me crazy! Especially since he can't cook.
Oh, Rose! I'm sorry you got hurt and am glad you're okay! I had my hand bandaged up bad like that once -- it will heal!
I swear cutting any place on your hand except maybe the back of the wrist is the worst place to cut your hand.

Okay, so I don’t have enough information to know for sure, but I suggest looking into something called “dyspraxia”. This could potentially explain the clumsiness and constant small injuries and hurting yourself! (I’m dyspraxic and always injure myself and I’m often uncoordinated)

Ouchie! I'm sorry for your hand injury, but thankfully it was a quick procedure once you went to your local Urgent Care clinic. Still though, a drag. Second: I love that doggie! What a cutie. I hope we see him again. Third: your nail color is enchanting. I am always on the lookout for the "perfect" blue nail polish.

It’s weirdly easy to get cut on can lids!! I have done it before without needing stitches so I am glad you are okay 😊
cut myself on can reaching into the garbage a couple of weeks ago and had to get 4 stitches.... Now I wrap each can lid before I put it into the trash. Take care. Be safe.

I added too much liquid to mine. But it was still good. Used noodles instead of spaghetti. Didn't add garlic. I can't eat it. But added peas to it. I think fresh mushrooms would be good too.

Ohh no, Rose! I've done that exact same thing on a can and got the webbing between my fingers, it was gnarly so I know how bad that probably looked. Stitches are no fun, heal up quick!

Yea, I did something very similar (also opening a can) about 2 months ago. (got my thumb straight down the middle!) I DIDN'T get it checked out but with the way it healed and how long it took... I really probably should have.
PSA: DON'T use your hands to finish opening the can.

Creamy 1 pot pastas are the best. No need to dirty a second pot or bother making a rue cause the pasta releases their own starch to thicken the sauce.

I am so sorry for you! Cooking can be indeed a dangerous activity :D A few months back I cut my finger with a new knife to the point I needed stitches and lost the feeling in the upper part of this finger permanently🫣

Keep those stitches dry. And yeah, modern medicine can be a blessing sometimes. I broke my wrist last summer, and it was a whole thing. Ate a lot of hummus and veggies. Lol.
