    I saw them in 1970 too. It was in NYC @ MADISON SQUARE GARDENS!!! $9.50 a ticket for the BEST SEATS!!! I remember it well! ROCK N ROLL!;-)

    I was at this unbelievable show, and by the time they played this I was 10 rows from the front. It's right there and then that I realised how powerful rock 'n' roll could be, - it was truly amazing!

    People forget how this song is so important that it shaped metal music. It came before paranoid.
    The speedy riff, high pitched vocal (later followed by every 80s metal singer), bass lines (jpj can outclass everyone), drums (no words to describe the thunder)

    @mugwit: Plant is doing a lot in Folk and Americana, right now. This should not be too much of a surprise considering that some Zeppelin songs were folk in style. They were quite versatile in the forms of music they utilized.

    I was one of those 14-15 year olds in the front row. My friend's dad drove us to the concert and waited to drive us home. Sometimes we would stay the night before in his camper to make sure we were first in line to get to the front. Once we could drive, we saw them many times. So close I could feel Plant's spit and sweat hit me!

When jimmy gave a local reporter the heads up on the name change, because he was the one who posted the show listings, the reporter wrote down the name "lead zeppelin" and jimmy on a whim told him to take the A out. No reason

    I saw these guys play this in1969 at Fillmore West (I was no more than 15 feet from them - we loved them they loved us). It was awesome, divine, transcendent, earthshaking. The musical gods had landed. The world was never the same.

    Led Zeppelin is just indescribable. The way all four of them twisted and turned and connected through the light and shade of everything was amazing. It’s almost like it’s four dimensional. Yes I am hi lol
