I noticed it also. I completely and strongly disagree. Every group whose music is worth listening to - and which has survived the test of time - had a statement they wanted to make. The Clash, the best of the "punk" groups, were very serious about the significance of their compositions. That's why the band is memorable, and why I've listened to their albums many times.
Everyone knows The Rolling Stones catalogue. Few, if any, remember the catalogues of the many crap groups that have faded away. Why is Buddy Holly remembered and the ten thousand others who came after are not? A convincing argument can be made that "Rave On," made in '56, was the first punk song. It certainly had the attitude.
The Doors had a producer that made them make as many as a hundred takes - imagine Jim Morrison going along with that, but it's on tape. During the LA Woman sessions, Jim got annoyed at his bandmates and said, "You guys sound like bunch of a cripples trying to make it up a flight of stairs." That organ playing that makes "Light My Fire" instantly stand out is due to Ray Manzarek having studied Bach. It's right there. That is clearly ifluenced by Bach's music.
_Who's Next_ is the magnificent remnants of a failed project by Pete Townshend. He considered killing himself. Almost killed himself over it. I don't know why you can't hear it. It's there. Rock 'N' Roll has significant masterpieces in it, all by guys who worked their asses off - and some of whom didn't make it. Brian Wilson had a nervous breakdown he never recovered from after Paul McCartney played him an acetate of "A Day in the Life." Wilson's band, The Beach Boys, made a masterpiece called _Pet Sounds_ which they were quite proud of. But SPLHCB blew it out of the water.
My logo is of "The Dark Side of the Moon." A great masterpiece by any standards of music.

If this video helped you, then check this out. The nut at the end of your guitar serves as a bar chord(kinda). If you hold down all 6 strings anywhere on the neck of the guitar, you can make your favorite basic chords anywhere on the guitar. Just use the same relevance to where you are holding down all 6 strings to the original chord you like

It's harder to solo on acoustic because the strings are heavier, and it's harder to reach the higher frets, even if you have a cutaway guitar...

People like me appreciate your generosity, as some people don’t want to share their knowledge and see others succeed. You were able to hold my attention for the entire video (which says a lot). He is one if not the best teacher I ever seen & i've been playing for years I had the prototype of Guitar Magazine 1st issue & all of em up to about a year ago when Guitar Mag started going way down hill & pushing Satanic bands that no one knows & are not good in their own style & when they started pushing Communism that was it for me. He will make it so understandable you can be as good as you want to be w/lessons like his. I paid for those VHS tapes that taught me not much & DVD's Mags books… Steve is a master Teacher & worth being paid for his work but here it is for all to see for free it's like I want to send him some funds to bless em for what he has done for people who want to learn . many that are older & can play a little refuse to take lessons man they are missing out. I always pick up something no matter how elementary the lesson is there's gold in there somewhere that even the seasoned player can use or have a broader understanding.

Hey! I'm playing guitar now for more than 30 years, doing covers on my own in pubs, on festivals,e.g. I'm not playing electric guitar and I'm not doing solos at all. But I saw this video by chance! I really have to say, if all these people, who tried to teach me at the very beginning would have taught me playing guitar like this, I would have learned more with more fun from the very beginning! I gave up, getting lessons and taught myself how to pöay in the end. You don't tell people to learn scales, notes and so on! You just show them how to have fun from the very beginning! Even if I never touched a guitar before, your video would have changed my life! No better way, to do this!!! Respekt!
