What do you do when you want to take a guitar solo? This video takes a look at the decisions you make as a musician and a guitar player to help you not only play a good solo, but have different options as well. You must provide your own body and soul for the full effect as these are only craft and tool based ideas in music and on the guitar. @GodinGuitarsOfficial @SingularSoundOfficial @boss #guitarlesson #guitartutorial #leadguitar

This has to be one of the best, if not the best, tutorials for soloing.
Thank you L&W for sharing your talents and knowledge.
I know this video is 2 years old, but it's still here and still teaching others like me.
Appreciate the time and effort you spared to make this video 👍👍
Thank you so much
In my 16 years of guitar playing, nobody explained guitar soloing the way you did. Excellent work sir👌
Agree with you buddy!!!

All these years, and the voluminous YT guitar videos, this is the first that clearly explains how to incorporate all the different techniques and methods to create solos to the music. Well done.
Thank you! Keep playing
Ain’t that the truth
I have tears in my eyes after this video and I don’t care who knows it. This was literally eye and ear-opening. Now to ignore all the other so-called teachers while I apply it. Thank you from a 65 year old who’s struggled for decades. Bless you.
Thank you and so glad it helped. Looking forward to helping you more! Keep playing!

I was about to write the exact same comment! Been trying to play for... 10 years and have been with ALL the most popular coaches online, Justin, Marty, you name 'em. You, sir, are the first one who finally managed, in one lesson, to teach how to play the changes! Should've heard me howler when it clicked! Thank you SO much!
@@themagdude Some people have a gift to teach! He is definitely one of them! Great presentation on the subject of guitar soloing! I will watch it again for completeness!
@@themagdude Wow! Thank you! Ive been teachingots of folks for years so its great to see it helping folks. Everything I teach is all the stuff Inwish someone showed me.

OMG!! You just made a new student!! I've been searching for a teacher like you for 10+ years!!
Thank you and welcome!
This theory is so easy to understand and play for self learnt people like me. I must have watched 50+ videos to get this! Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching and glad it's relatable. Keep playing!
great great confirmation, you just gave me motivation to keep learning inspite of the fact that I am 64, who just started learning "solo"...God bless!👌
Yes! Keep playing!
This lesson is a corker! It describes how to follow the changes perfectly. Now , if I can just do it!
25 years of playing basic open chords, I've been to afraid to even try soloing.. Thanks for explaining it so well..
Yes! come to the dark side, solo! Glad to hear you made the move and glad I could help, welcome, and keep playing!

Hello, I was practicing my piano lessons , after listening to the song I was supposed to listen and learned it finished… Then your video popped up about guitar solo… Wow I must say that was amazing… I always wanted to learn the PENTATONIC SCALES…. As a matter of fact I have a chart of Guitar Scales… I really enjoyed your time on this pentatonic pieces it really opened my eyes… So I will be practicing these scales and see where it leads me to… Thank you so much… Thanks got to get back to piano 🎹…🙏📿🕊✝️👍
Great to hear and playing multiple instruments really strengthens your sense of thebmusic language independent of instrument. Keep playing!
I wish I'd met you 50 years ago. You are the best thing on TH-cam. Great job. I'm off to your website now...

I am 70 years old. I have been learning guitar for two years. Your tutorial is the best I have come across on the internet. In this short time, you clarified the connections that I tried in vain to understand and clarify. And now I know how to continue. Huge thanks my friend.
👍👍👍
So good to hear, glad it's wotking
First musician, then guitar player. And this is how I subscribe to the channel after 20 seconds of watching the video.
My comment is the same as many on here but true. Been playing since 14 and no one has ever explained it so simple. This has gotten me past my barrier I've been stagnet wih for so long I feel like I'm brand new playing the guitar I'm excited and can't put it down now 😂 thank you doesn't say enough! You da man!
I really have a clearer understanding of soloing now. You are an awesome teacher. Thanks!
I started a structured online guitar course just over 2 months ago. I completed the course and I learned a lot and I've come a long way in a short period of time but I have been having trouble soloing over the different chord changes. I knew what I had to do I just didn't know how to go about it. What you just covered is exactly what I have been looking for. I am going to watch this lesson repeatedly over the next few weeks until I really grasp these concepts. Thanks for taking the time to put this all together in easy to understand terms.
That's great to hear. We will be having some more in depth courses coming up this year.I like to keep it simple and effective. Keep Playing!
Thanks for the picture of Brian May to illustrate the "no need for a PhD to solo"! Now I'm in en even better mood to listen to the lesson ;-)
This is what I call REVELATION. Your ability to teach is probably better than you know. Thank you Sir.
Thank you! I love teaching, and have been doing steadily for 20 years
Great lesson! Makes my bookmarks. This lesson answers questions I've had for years about soloing. I'm a happy camper! Thank you for making this video.
Glad it was helpful!
I've been playing self taught for 45 years and this is one of the best explanations I've ever seen for combining the elements I spent years learning (arpegio, scales & pentatonics) into soloing. Wish I had this lesson when in my younger days. I'd probably be alot better if I'd only known. Thank you for sharing. You are a fantastic instructor.
Thank you and what better day than today to start to accelerate that path! Keep playing!
the best thing I have ever heard. feel like repeating the vid over n over again
Thank.you! And yes feel free to watch as many times as needed! Keep playing!
Very helpful. Crystal clear presentation. Thank you very much for your contribution.
Mind Blown!!! 48 years of guitar playing and some study the light goes on now for me. Thank you!!!
Love it! So glad to help
Pattern 1 for G and Em, Pattern 3 for the 5 or D and Pattern 4 for the 4 or C ... by far the most useful information I have come across in the 100s of vdos I have watched ... thank you! ... This is truly helpful information when trying to learn lead guitar....
I'm glad you liked it, thank you!
I'm hearing so many songs. Allman Brothers, Dillon and more than I can name. This is wicked. Thak you
Great lesson, i wish every single millionth lesson i watched was so educational and clear. Thank you!
Thank you. I’ve been working on putting solos together that don’t sound so robotic. You cleared up a lot of my confusion.
thank you for instructing not show casing . it has brought back interest and gave a direction on where to start.
I watched the video twice and on third time I was following along and then started improvising and creating my own music. Great way to explain soloing. Great Fun!
That's what it's all about, thank you and Keep playing!
You're amazing! Subscribed🫡
Thank you!!
Your teaching method is so effective and easy to follow. I like how how you apply theory to practical application,. Thanks for taking your time out to teach. Well appreciated.
This video has saved me a lot, especially on overplaying unnecessary notes when shifting in progressions. At times it's not easy for us intermediate guitarists. Thank you.
Glad it helped, keep playing!
Over the millions of videos on the subject (soloing), this one really is worth to watch. Thank you
Man, you are so relaxed, I’m surprised you did not go make a cup of coffee between cords. ❤
Haha, I do love my dark roast
All I can say is, THANK YOU 🤲🏽
You are welcome, and Thank you!
This is out of my pay grade, but I woke up this morning thinking exactly as he described in the first topic. First, be a musician and then a guitar (ukulele) player. I have Aural Aphantasia, so I probably will never be a musican, and I doubt there will ever be a waiting line of bands asking me to join. So what, I'm geeking out on music theory to try to learn the piano and my fretboard.
I was frustrated that my fretboard didn't have black keys. But I put postit notes on my piano, and now my piano has strings. This really helps to understand intervals, and explains why there is an option around E in the circle of fifths patterns on the guitar or uke.
Despite my frustration, I think this is probably the most important video I've seen. So much crammed into a 16 minute video. Merci beaucoup.
Thank you so much, Keep playing!

Great job! I will definitely be using this a great practice reference!
I've seen a lot of TH-cam tutorials and learned them bits by bits. But this one is the complete tutorial that explains everything in about 16 minutes. Now, it's a matter of memorizing the scale and mode positions and chords' first and inverse positions. Thank you for effectively and efficiently explaining about lead soloing! Best tutorial!
Thank you so much, glad you appreciate it so much. Keep Playing

This video helped immensely. I feel I'm ok when it comes to soloing, but when it comes to improv, they usually all sound the same. This really opened the doors for more possibilities when I'm playing. Thank you very much! 🤘🏻😎🎸

I just started with the ionian. couldn't do much with the pentatonic scale. but ionian seems much easier and sweeter to start with. this video probably summed up the how it will come about after I learn my fretboard with the help of those things, but long way to go for me. nice session. inspiring
