    📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In this guitar lesson, Steve Stine teaches you the #1 tip to play emotional, melodic guitar solos starts with making connections between the rhythm and chords that are being played, and your scale of choice.
Whether you know your music/guitar theory or not, learning how to "see" the fretboard's chords and scales and how they interact is essential to understand how to create melody in your guitar soloing.
This is the first step, needless to say the learning and education keeps going, but learning how to make that first connection is really important to your guitar playing success.
Learning to visualize your fretboard with guitar chords AND scales will continue to open up opportunites for more creative guitar solos, so stick to it and don't give up!

I've seen plenty of videos stating that I should be connecting the solo to the underlying chords, but having Steve explain it in this way and breaking the thought process down like this is really inspirational. Using this same process it would be great to see a well known solo broken down to see how the target notes are relating to the chords. Great work Steve, Thanks.

This video lesson is one of the best I've seen (even by Steve). It helps de-mystify what the pros are doing when they're moving around the fretboard, makes it understandable, and most importantly teaches why each of these things (scales, alternate chord fingerings, CAGED, etc.) is worth studying. It is the perfect mix of theory with fun needed to inspire beginners. Thanks!

one of the best youtube videos about guitar i have seen. After watching this I finally understand why is so important to learn triads all over the fretboard, seeing them superposed to the scales can really help to see on which notes to land on each chord that is being played. Thanks so much for this Steve !

I have tried to guitar lessons from many instructors on TH-cam and must say that Steve Stine is the King in my opinion. There are very good lessons all across TH-cam by multiple instructors, but for me, Steve is the easiest to follow along with. He is incredible at breaking down complex to simple for me. He stays on point with his lessons and doesn't drift off the main focus and into complex details.

Ive been studying theory for about a year , which is a drop in the bucket and it just clicked on following the chord triad notes as the chords change to drive melody , like a flood light went off , steves teaching approach is awesome

Guitar playing is so tricky, im 60 and have been learning electric guitar for about 4 years, i like the sound of a 4 piece, live metal band, crue, dokken, so i play with a loop pedal, and never solo with a rhythm guitar, its a cop out i know, i just like how its done, jak e lee was one of my heroes live. Great video.
