    Man, the culture in this country has become so toxic. A girl sandwiched between her mom and grandmother calls the show for advice, which is exactly what Dave and George did. Hopefully, she now acts on it, and that's a wrap. To then sit behind a keyboard and pass negative judgments on the one person in a dysfunctional family who is TRYING to do the right thing is just ridiculous! I wonder how many of those people have experience dealing with a situation like this? And even if you have, everyone is different. We dont know anything about this 39-year-old person. She probably has her own life, too, husband, kids, job, stresses, etc. She's dealing with this complicated family issue on top of her own life. Give her a break and some grace.

      Probably because mother is manipulating both sides of the situation. Grandma tells grand daughter to manager her money, then the next day mom convinces her to let her use the debit card. Caller is stuck in the middle she can’t really do anything

    • @fornx8574
      @fornx8574 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is possible that the caller already has a goal in mind. She thought about shutting down the account and already did so with some before Ramsey said anything. She told mom she will call 911 if this behavior keeps taking place before Ramsey suggested it. The topic of selling the car came up before Ramsey brought it up. The ball has already been rolling prior to speaking with Ramsey and all due respect to Ramsey, he sometimes will abuse and humiliate callers before actually helping them and most people are already vulnerable when they call. Most don't want to be abused for entertainment sake. I suspect the reason Ramsey viewers are so casually abusive in the comment section is because the hosts participate in that very behavior so the viewers assume that is how we are to conduct ourselves in the comment section.

    I've known people in families like this before. The caller has spent a lifetime in this toxic family, being groomed and manipulated by them, and she keeps saying "yeah, yeah..." because she knows what is wrong and knows what she has to do to fix it, but she is not going to. It's easier to be unhappy and fail, and she just wants someone to vent to. I'm not faulting her, she's basically been brainwashed since birth, she might be able to tell that it's not how other normal people live, but it's a lot less effort to suffer, than to change, especially when you have to involve other people. :(

    It is unfortunate that in her family all woman are trained to be submissive and or sneaky. She will have to take on a more "masculine" identity because everyone around her too deceptive or too childlike in their thinking to help her with this large responsibility. I grew up in a family were all the women were weak. I am female and somehow pulled away from this mindset. I also grew up with a highly manipulative mom that has everyone under her corrupt spell. The great thing about people like this callers mom is that if you say no just a handful of time and actually mean it, they will stop their nonsense because the ONLY thing these people fear is consistency and authority (like police). Trust me, this entire family drama can be terminated in a month if the caller is good on her word and does everything outlined in the video. Mom will always play her deceptive game but she will simply find a new victim. Im glad grandma picked this caller to be the money watcher and not her own kid because the outcome would be very different.

    Lady has to get out of complaint mode and get into action mode. And she is hesitant to actually do something about it but she has turned into hot air. All talk and mama knows it. Don't worry about offense. She isn't doing it for herself, she is acting in her grandma's interest not her own. If grandma needs level of care long term ( beyond resolution of actlute problem) she needs to sell everything. Medicaid won't pay until all assets spent down to less then 2 thousand. ( spent down on paying grammas bill for care privately, not on a vacation and paying family bills.) Also don't pay any private creditors if she has any. They will have to eat it if gramma only has ssi coming in. ( thats a law for elders only btw) Pay mins until the money is gone to keep them from liens) my advice, i know nothing actually. 😉wink.
    If it looks like she will need placement in a facility long term granddaughter needs to get POA, and settle these things and be aware it is against the law to take any money. It's elder fraud. She isn't legally obligated to deal with any of it, but morally cause it's ur family. And anything g that can't be paid when grammas a wash, is nobody else's legal responsibility. So be aware u don't have to own it.

    When you're after someone's best interest you'll be in a situation where you'll have to say things they may not want to hear. If they don't like what you're saying then what does that say about them?

    You don't have to close the account. You can just report the card stolen.
    No reason to sell the truck. It's paid off already. The truck have memories of her husband for the truck.
    Unlike Dave, some people do have things that have sentimental value to them.

      As sentimental as the truck may be, I suspect it is more about stopping the mother damaging it further. And putting that money into an emergency fund for granny.
