  • In this riveting episode of Political Rumble, speakers tackle the burning issue that has dominated the political newscape recently - the unprecedented suspension of 146 Opposition MPs during the winter session of Parliament. The debate probes into the underlying reasons for this situation, including the MPs' demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on a security breach in Parliament, and the government's counterclaim about violation of Parliament rules by these MPs. The dramatic tableau of slogans, placards, and heated confrontations in the well of the house forms the backdrop to this episode. The discourse brings fresh insights into the practices and dynamics of parliamentary proceedings and controversies, offering viewers a chance to understand their significance in the larger scheme of political dynamics. #PoliticalRumble #WeekendDebate #Parliament #WinterSession #RecordSuspension #OppositionMPs #AmitShah #SecurityBreach #Government #Violation #Rules #Slogans #Placards #rajdeepsardesai

Have they really treat at least the highlights of the new pass which is making everyone accountable. Any law can be improved and amendments can be brought in etc. Mr. Chidambaram says the IPC laws are colonial and never revamp but now the Govt has copy pasted the old laws. What where they doing for 75 years in these colonial laws? Rather than trying to sosupport the opposition on their suspension which was because 🎉of gross indiscipline and insults and prayers hurled at the Speaker and VP you can spend as much time in discussing the new IPC laws.

What is the justification for suspension? Can speaker justify? Do the speaker follow the rules in constitution to suspend MLA or MP?
Bjp gives excuses that in 1989 , 63 MLA suspended? Can , bjp or speaker equate suspension in 1988 to suspension of 146 in 2023?
The motive of PM , HM and speaker is just to clear passage to pass new bill . They know the is not constitutional.
1989 was not the same. There were no other resort left but to suspend.

Your panelists’ backgrounds are well known. This issue doesn’t call for any debate for the simple reason that the suspended MPs repeatedly violated the House rules. Discussions must focus around that and not some oft repeated jargon like ‘parliamentary democracy is in danger’. Why can’t the MPs behave? They are indulging in shouting continuously while issues are being debated besides carrying placards and storming the well and misbehaving with Speaker/Chairman. Is that what we expect from elected representatives? That’s the danger to democracy and you ought to discuss that instead of trying to build a false narrative Mr Sardesai. Readers now understand the sinister motives behind all that so please behave. The bottom line is that even if the Home Minister had agreed to a debate on the security breach in Lok Sabha, would that have been the end of the story? No, no and NO. Opposition would either have interrupted the discussion by shouting or would have walked out or demanded a statement by PM. Purpose is not to engage in some meaningful discussion but to disrupt the Houses to prevent passage of important bills. Yes that’s how democracy is in danger and please do discuss that. Thanks

Problem is not that we are becoming autocratic nation . Problem is that opposition know nothing about the fight. If same thing happened with BJP then I am 100% sure that BJP would jamm the whole the nation bcz BJP knew that how to fight the political battle . Congress ruled this nation for more then 50 year or they knew how to rule but they don’t know how to fight the political battle as an opposition. Congress need to learn the political battle.

The new bills are being passed with suspension of 146 opposition members. This new position only confirms that the Parliament democracy is over. No opposition is required which is hallmark of Parliament democracy. Such a major suspension has never happened in the history of Parliament democracy Even the dictators have not shown such major action of suspension. We all accept that the Parliament is definitely a talking shop. There is nothing wrong if opposition talk. Where it will lead to?
