"The Crisis In Kashmir: Should Special Status Have Been Revoked?"
In August, Prime Minister Modi’s decision to revoke the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the constitution, and to split the state, which is majority Muslim, into two Union territories sparked international outcry, and caused protests to erupt across the region.
Yet, while some have derided the move as unconstitutional, undemocratic, and irresponsible, many in India have defended the action, arguing that it strengthens the economy and security of the state, and that special status was only ever meant to be temporary. Was this action, then, simply a misunderstood step towards greater national unity and prosperity, or an alarming act of authoritarian over-reach?
    SPEAKERS
    Proposition:
Baijayant Panda: The current national Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He previously served as a member of the Lok Sabha.
    Opposition:
Sitaram Yechury: Leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He has represented West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha since 2005.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

You need to understand. Debbie Abraham - a British MP from Labor party- came to Pak and wanted to visit Kashmir to criticize India. she was funded by Pakistan. Pound 30,000 was paid to the parliamentary panel. British created Pak. But Britain did not ask Pak to become fanatic Islamist country, which it is today. Also Britain did not ask to persecute minorities which forced India to offer the least possible humanitarian gesture of CAA. The ruckus created by Pak and Islamists these days is not creation of Britain.
ISI wants to manipulate your mind. While Britain of 1947 created the mess, today the problem is Pakistani society's radicalized minds. Let us focus on today's situation. Until Pak becomes a secular country, I would be vary of Pakistan.

Why does Modi Sultan run away from the press and hiding for the last six years? Who gave divine right to Godse patriots to butcher thousands in Gujarat and in the Advani terrorist holocaust to demolish a mosque of the Muslims?
By what logic did the Supreme Court verdict that those who trespassed on the property of Muslims were the legal owners of the property they took over by fraud and violence? Why does the Modi Sultan government not arrest those who celebrate the assignation of Mahatma Gandhi and celebrate Godse Aryan's birthday under the nose of Modi Sultan of Delhi? Is Modi ready for a debate with Dr Shashi Thsroor or Peter Alphonse of the Congress party? When will the cowardly Propaganda Minister of India call his first press conference?

Modi is the PM of India. To engage with the Media or to avoid it is his prerogative, not mandated by the Constitution of India. Btw, you have mistaken his surname as Sultan, Modi itself is his surname and quite fondly remembered by the liberal secular lobby that is outright rejected by the mass of India.
No, Modi was not granted any Divine rights of genocide as is claimed by the British Monarchy. The riots of Gujarat were necessary reactions to the burning of innocent Hindu pilgrims in a running train in Godhra by the historically notorious 'non-violent' cult of Muslims. Why necessary? Just look at the records of riots after the reprisal by the predominantly Hindu population of Gujarat. None. So, peaceful coexistence with the tribes of Arab descent is only possible with the language of the sword, nothing else.
By what logic did the Supreme Court rule in the favor of a Ram Temple in the place where stood once a mosque called Babri Masjid, you ask?
The answer is a single word given by you. It is 'logic' itself. The logic of arriving at a conclusion based on historical records, archaeological findings, legal jurisprudence. It was a matter of setting the records right, of rectification of wrongs committed by despotic Islamic rule that has scarred the socio-religious culture of the Indian subcontinent. They destroyed anything that resembled anti-Quranic. The ruins of Nalanda, the ancient University bear testimony to the destructive force of Islam that trampled across the land of India. Even ancient texts and valuable scriptures were not spared from burning. It is a matter of shame that a nation of more than a billion people whose major faith is Hinduism have to wait for the verdict of a court to worship at a place considered sacred from time immemorial. Just imagine if someday the Christians demolish the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem and arbitrarily construct a Cathedral over it disallowing any Muslim to set foot inside it, will the followers of the religion called Islam proceed to take the case to the International Court of Justice and wait peacefully for a verdict for more than 500 years?
Oh no, all cases of Charlie Hebdo and Salman Rushdie will become so commonplace then. But perhaps, then such violence would not be violence at all but reasonable reactions according to people like you.
So, don't assume to know better than the Indian populace. They know how and when to take appropriate steps to solve their problems. Modi and his landslide victory in 2019 whitewashing all freaks is the only certificate of the pulse of the great nation, India.
The opinions of academics are of no value for the mandate of India. It speaks for itself.
