i genuinely had no idea multi lock existed in 4th gen i would just hit the button i never considered holding it to spread out my locks... and here i am considering myself a vet... learn something new every day
BISMUTH and ZINC were the first missiles to ever deal energy damage, niche as they were on account of being Kojima warheads. The Plasma Missiles in Verdict Day were really helpful though. Those could scare a lightweight or middleweight with surprise TE damage if they didn't know which sounds to listen for.
When those arm-installed rockets were introduced, I was completely mind blown that they'd make such a bold move, and was hoping such a thing would be added back into AC6, but it seems missiles actually got a lot less attention in the more recent title- with there not even being any countermeasures against rocket salvos this time around.
Once quick boost was introduced, as far as I'm concerned, missiles mostly became a non-option. Once you understand the basic physics of dodging missiles, judicious quick boost use counters them all. Given how many enemies are AC's or simply change direction randomly, missiles aren't really a primary choice to me. I've just learned how to get the job done with more practical weapons that don't fail as soon as an enemy AC appears and starts properly dodging them. NOW, having said that, I do admit that in AC6 I've enjoyed the plasma missile launchers as support weapons, primarily because they have a large AOE and an apparent proximity fuse, making them great for shaving off health, splattering groups of trash mobs and building up enemy stagger bars. (I don't really like that they introduced a stagger system; what is this, Sekiro? But I live with it.)
What about the ammo expense after every mission?! I just started AC1 for the first time and that's one of the main reasons I try not to rely too much on them 😅.
@@A-0602 tbh it sounds very intended. specially cause it started with old footage, its very fitting. could be a trademark :D i would edit that intentionally, just not all the time. i dont mind that its an actuall tec issue. its fitting afterall and makes your vid special, in my view atleast ^^

Armored Core VI: Allow myself to introduce... myself.
Yes, this sad, i hope in time then i buy PC sniper rifles will be in AC:FoR.
I was absoloutely shocked the first time I realized missiles could multilock. Good information more people should know.
There are so many small details you can miss!
I still didn't know ac5 head drifting that's why I accidentally saw it in the video
I love how gen 4 missile system decided... to go full Macross
Really enjoyed this deep dive on the evolution of missiles. I would love to see something along the same lines again sometime!
I plan to sometime in the future - maybe I can sneak something out before AC6 drops.

I used missiles a lot in AC6, as well as rockets. Being that they are the only real long range option since they don't ricochet.

Plasma missiles were so cool. I'm surprised it took until gen5 to get them.
Thankfully, we're getting some plasma/electric missiles in 6 as well. Some fun to be had there for sure.

Beautiful. Thank you for this.❤
I'm especially fond of the 1st gen. 4-legged Dawn MTs. Not very tough, but endearing. 🚀
I really should use missles more but the quad legs plus energy canons just make me really happy. XD
Very strong video. Love it!
Missiles became one of my favorites when my friend showed me how broken multi missiles in AC2 are 😂
You have a very smart friend

I do appreciate this type content looking forward to next one good luck on your next sortie
Thank you kindly
Great video! I'd enjoy seeing more of these history videos on other parts like rockets or arm weapons.
Hope to make some in the future! Thanks for watching
Love your videos man, you know your stuff and are a Raven, not a tourist.
Thanks "buddy"
Bro keep it up love your vids on ac games
Thank you for your support
My favorite missiles so far are the dearborn02s in the fourth gen games. I have the best luck with those and they even score hits on the fastest ACs.
Every time I use missiles I feel like a disappointed mother wishing they could be more like their brother, mechwarrior lrms
Need the missile intercept system back for AC6

Haha, yeah - The economy was really tough in the early games. It was hard to get ahead using missiles there
nice background noise :D not quite shure if intentional, but sounds like it is ^^
Ahh, unfortunately I can't take credit for that. I am working on improving my sound quality though.

Maybe I shouldn’t have given you a new mic… don’t get rid of the old one, people dig it!
@@scottmacdonald-iq4ow Oh, they're just being nice
I hope missiles will be big againt in 6. They look like they are gonna bea around AC2 speed and ammo
