I knew Wake was a gimmick part in Silent Line, but its actually a great part in Last Raven. I think it was a banned part in tournaments because it also increased booster acceleration which made it easier to dodge shots.
Thank you so much for this information. It's crazy seeing this kind of info and analysis for a game that preceded this level of understanding being common for quite a few years. For what it's worth, you definitely earned a sub.

I never used the WAKE or its later PEGASUS incarnation, so this would've slipped right by me. It's nice to see these games still having little discoveries made even at this late date.
Reading comments like this make me realize how big of an iceberg the AC series is , i hope the new one will be everything the hardcore players wanted and more ,I'm ready to jump in the rabbit hole .
I always thought it was diminishing returns of booster power vs weight rather than a cap... and that the WAKE almost never managed to provide enough boosting power to offset its own weight... So glad they fixed this in later games, love the look of that part
In last raven is actually good. U can reach Fleet speed combining them with Drake, and tje amount of energy consumed is still lower than Fleet. The only think u must be carefull is the extra booster heat, so with Drake booster + up to 15.500 cooling u should be ok.
@@andrewrogers3067 I made a tank that was able to compete with some of the top PvP builds. Mg500/srfl50 iirc. Was able to almost damage race Gilver’s Kingpin.
interesting. in AC1 there is also a speed limit so almost universally the energy drain efficient booster (bt-2) is universally the best. there may be some caveat with heavy weights were they reduce your speed in the air without higher boost power but that's mostly negligible.
Yeah, Pegasus was my favorite part in 3rd gen, but in SL when it was introduced, I did notice the speed cap and just went with lower en draining boosters, but didn't really have fun with this part till Nexus after the limit was removed. I liked it best in Nexus/NB when it was most balanced since it was hard to use unless built for specific high speed builds. So it couldn't be tacked on to any build for easy speed gains.
Is the Drake being slower with the Wake really out of the scope of this video? I think it fits pretty well in this topic mate. You've got people's attention now, when else would it be brought up?
I always thought this was one of the dumbest parts in the game. Just get the better boosters, and use the weight you wouldn't use from the aux boosters for weapons.
This is why I have trust issues

Tournaments have a ton of banned parts.

I think you should check the wake out with a Tank.
Most commonly, the Wake is used on a tank wielding an MG800 and a left arm mirage sniper.

They removed that in LR. That's why when you have PLUS cheat on, you can get up to 500+ KMH.
You can actually reach that without plus you just have to use lightweight parts
@@procow2274 well i mean in any weight you can with plus. LW builds with B83TP is a given
funny enough, WAKE is one of my go to for laser blade builds in the later gen3 games.
Ac2 also has a boost cap speed of 381 ( not counting over boosting or temp speed increases from blading )
wake tank would like to have a word with you
Is it even worth it to use Wake/Pegasus booster compared to OB core? You know the advantage of going tank is the OP back mounted weapons
@@mhamedali2181 there was a very fearsome tank made with the Wake. Mg right hand, sniper rifle left hand. It rushes you down and holds triggers
