Check out the ASUS ROG Ally X here: rog.gg/PunkDuck while I smile diligently. This video would've come out sooner but I was hard stuck on the helicopter
I'm doing a walkthrough of this game, mission by mission. My channel has up to late chapter 3 at the moment. S-Rank videos and hidden parts/combat logs for each level as well. I've previously S-Ranked the whole game before starting again, so I should be able to upload regularly with the good stuff, or if you're stuck on a specific mission that I haven't got yet I can re-load my old save and just do that one.
Personally, I'm glad it's mission based, since it allows for breaks in between the hectic action, giving you time to marinate on new plot points and bits of lore. It also fits the narrative that you're a mercenary doing jobs, going back to base after every mission (most of the time), tinkering with your mech and loadouts, buying new gear for your AC, and so on. It also allows for more variety in locales by not needing to fill the MASSIVE spaces in between them, not to mention avoiding needless development time on making them in the first place. It's a leaner product for it, without any needless bloat; not implying ER suffers from that, as it was INTENDED as a massive open-world. I will add that, regarding the former point, the game didn't take as much advantage of that element as it could have. Also, you don't have i-frames since you're intended to dodge attacks in their entirety by either dashing at the last second, screwing with enemy tracking by moving to one side before dashing in the opposite direction, or just plain strafing around attacks.
Yeah honestly I agree because let's say they do go open world how tf are you gonna balance it other than making some areas piss easy with Mt's and then the occasional fuck off enemies like the deathwheels or those other guys that accompany them that I forget the name of
@Lonewolf360gaming I'd be intrigued to see what a semi-open world AC game would look like. Sort of like a giant, mech version of Tony Hawk skateboard games. About a dozen different levels each with different areas with different objectives. Each level has a garage you can return to for refueling/restocking.
@@argentum909 perhaps your idea of larger levels Would be more viable to work around tho a certain fun idea would be the ways to get around fast travel other than overboosting like maybe each place offers a different option like launching yourself via catapult or strapping a bunch of rockets to your back like in for answer. Maybe straying from the path would bring you to spots where you fight some old machine and get secret parts 🤔
@@Lonewolf360gaming YES!!! That kind of gameplay is exactly what I'm envisioning. Like think about the sea spider entrance just happening because you went over to explore some random structure.

I thought it was a bit until you brought out the promo code and then I realized it was a sponsor making it somehow funnier and more impressive. I’ve not been this happy to have unknowingly sat through a sponsorship in a long time
The notion that boss was designed for some specific build is not really true. I mean, for example, there's a boss named Ibis that's really fast and can dodge bullets. How people normally beat Ibis is to make a mech with such high rate of fire that Ibis just can't dodge every shot. But me, I made the fastest mech possible that could not only match it's speed, I also put no guns in the hands and put two railguns on shoulders and I used that mobility and the fact that punches track really hard, to beat Ibis into submission, I mean, to stagger Ibis every couple of seconds and then unload railguns into Ibis while it was staggered because under normal conditions Ibis would dodge the railgun bullets. It was still hard but I still won that way. And I felt like I was playing Dragonball while at it.
There are only two things in AC6 that I would say are strictly designed for a specific build: the Helianthus enemy (a major pain in the rear without grenades or bazookas) and Coral Export Denial (literally impossible with melee weapons, unless you have a hundred hours to pour into making a challenge video out of it with laser blade and laser dagger). Also yeah, Cel240 is really fun with an aggressive build, which doesn’t make sense at first glance.
Amen brother. I always hated the idea that you have to have a specific build to finish a mission. Like ive been using firmeza ac with dual ransetsu rf and dual 10 cell missile launcher the entire game and it worked in everything. If i want to feel like a badass ill change 1 missile launcher to ashmead and thats it.
