FAQ's:
Q: Does this video apply to my issues?
A: This video is for computers with no signs of life that appear 'dead'. It will also help if you see minimal signs of life such as lights only or some hard drive / fan sounds but they stop right a way. If you are able to see anything on the screen at any point or if the hard drive / fan sound remain on, your issue could be something else. Leave me a message with your exact symptoms and I can direct you to the correct video :)
Q: I have tried all the steps seen here without identifying the issue :(
A: If, after trying all the steps seen here multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; • How To Test your Lapto... & • How to Fix Test Power ... . You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement. Let me know if you would like help with any of that or with finding a motherboard. Sry it wasnt something easier :(
Model Specific Info:
Lenovo Thinkpad T460s - There is a small battery reset pinhole under the computer that can reset the battery if the computer is not charging or turning on that can help in some cases.

there wasn’t a windows update. Initially the sceeen was blank after seeing the Lenovo logo but now it is dead - no lights on keyboard, nothing but the “on” light on the side of the laptop.have done dump of static several times and unplugging the battery. Gone through all your steps. I was told by a tech looking at it that they thought the motherboard was needing replacement. I have managed to remove the SSD card and the info is retrievable using an encloser, thank goodness. Any other suggestions?

Lenovo 5 15ach6 power button coming on but no rgb on keyboard and display black. Happened yesterday after closing lid on accident while moving laptop playing destiny 2. Wouldn’t turn on for a while at all but then it started up randomly and worked. Tried to repeat with no success. I took the back off today and removed battery and ram, hit the power button to clear it, put it all back and it still won’t startup or have a reaction. I take care of the laptop and should be nothing from physical damage. Everyone has a black screen problem but not a no rgb and black screen problem. Could be the motherboard or maybe even the bios I guess but overall I’m just confused.

Hey, I need some help with my IdeaPad gaming 3 15ach6. I previously disabled the battery through bios and disabled the battery connector physically in order to get it cleaned safely (used to this, however it took me longer this time as I was multitasking (around 3 hrs total). As I charged it to turn it on, the charging indicator was normal, however the laptop shows no power (no light on the power button). I tried resetting bios through CMOS battery and novo button however both didn't work in turning on the laptop. I am currently trying to power cycle it and through that I know that the power button was not the issue (when charged with the battery, after 20s or so pressing the power button, the laptop stops charging, and continues if I press the power button again). Power cycling without the battery also hasn't worked. I am confused, my biggest fear is that I somehow bricked my motherboard even though I ensured I was careful. Please help anyone.

Ideapad Gaming 3 15IAH7 Intel, i left my laptop on then i went to nap woke up to my power light is off (either shutdown/hibernate according to the manual, not quite sure) rather than blinking light which shows that the laptop is on sleep, but the charging light is on showing white light meaning that the power supply works i guess. Long story short, the laptop wont turn on. Ive tried to do the power cycle like in the video by disconnecting from the motherboard and hold the button for around 60 second. The laptop still wont turn on. The novo button also doesnt work. Could the battery itself be faulty? Is there any possibilitt that my hardware is short-circuit? This laptop is 1 year old and due past the warranty. What could be the problem?

@@PC_Monkey I was tinkering with the back of my device and removed the two RAM (I think?) from the DIMM slot. After a few trial and error runs I got the kaptop to run, when only the bottom one was inserted. Kind regards. I have a Dell Vostro 153000 (Vostrol 3500). All the tests from the Diagnostics are passed successfully. But it is getting stuck at welcome page and freezing the keypad and touchpad. What must i do to rectify the problem without losing my data?
1. Are you able to find any Restore or Repair options in BIOS?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
I had a Windows update issue and some softwares stopped working giving a side-to-side error. As I tried to solve that, whilest loading an online repair the computer shutdown due to power. From that time, it has refused to pass the welcome page... I am able to find BIOS as in 1.
@@MartinabelKazumba 1. If its a Windows update issue, try to find any options in BIOS to 'Uninstall Last Update'.
2. If changing the settings in BIOS did not help and the diagnostic scan showed the hard drive to be healthy, your last resort would be to install a new operating system.

My computer has a white light on but the screen is not turning on. After I did an update for the computer and shut down.
Sounds like your on the correct video. Have you tried the steps seen here?

Are there any signs of life at all when you try to turn it on? Lights? Fan, Motherboard, or Hard Drive sounds? Anything seen on the screen? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

Lenovo IdeaPad S540-14API
Power works, but the lenovo logo doesn't come during the boot up phase, and the screen is glowing...fans are working...backlit keyboard is working. Can't access bios screen. Screen is a glowing black colour. Also, when I turn my laptop off, it turns on briefily whenever I press any key, as if it's a zombie. My laptop is not truly off?! I tried using compressed air to clean dust. Initially this worked, but I still have a black screen. What could the issue be? Many thanks
If you hook up an external monitor, can you see anything on that screen? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

Lenovo T14. If my battery goes extremely low, almost dead then, I need to plug in using my dock to the USB-C. The charging light flashes orange. The power flashes white. It will not turn on. It's like it's trying to say it doesn't want to charge using the dock. Is there anything I can do?
Have you processed all updates as seen here? th-cam.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/w-d-xo.html. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
