there wasn’t a windows update. Initially the sceeen was blank after seeing the Lenovo logo but now it is dead - no lights on keyboard, nothing but the “on” light on the side of the laptop.have done dump of static several times and unplugging the battery. Gone through all your steps. I was told by a tech looking at it that they thought the motherboard was needing replacement. I have managed to remove the SSD card and the info is retrievable using an encloser, thank goodness. Any other suggestions?
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga and It was working fine before my little sister came and started smashing the keys. It then just turned off and I can't turn it back on. The charger is fine because I tested it om other devices and when I put the charger in the laptop it doesn't even show the charging light. Please help me😢
Absolutely amazing, I tried holding the power button down for a minute and the laptop started. I was pretty sure it wouldn't work, but I was completely wrong. Fortunately, I didn't have time to send the machine for maintenance. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💓
Thanks, this was helpful. Pressed the button for a minute a few times, didn't help. The laptop doesn't have a detachable battery, so I screwed the back open, detached the battery ribbon cable from the motherboard, and repeated the procedure. After reattaching it, the laptop turned on! Very happy to get it fixed!
I pressed it for a minute, no reaction. Then a few mins later I pressed it like normal and it worked. Leaving a comment in case it helps anyone else. Thank you!!!!!
Did the Bios reset by disconnecting the small round battery cord and it started up! Nothing else had worked, I am so relieved. Backing everything up now. Thank you!!!
Thank you! Was using my computer this morning normally. When i was trying to log on for class in the evening, Screen was blank but the power button was on. I pushed it down to turn off, but wasn’t turning back on. I cursed and cried lmao but did your steps a few times and finally worked😢😅
yes!!!! thank you..!!! my heart was sinking.... it wasn't starting but for me i left the laptop in a cold car last night... I won't do that again... but thank you....i got it started from this video!, subscribed

Hi, need some help here, soon if possible. My laptop Omen 15 ek-0003ns (i7 10750H & RTX2060) just "died" on me (maybe it is really dead); I was playing some games and it just shut off, no signs of life, not even the light beside the power jack. Watched your older video and did the steps. Nothing. Checked the charger/jack, disconnected and connected to the laptop, and battery; they showed numbers a bit above the specs but ok (charger/jack 19,9v instead of 19,5v, and battery 12,2v instead of 11,5v). I guess it's ok-ish, maybe the battery isn't. I just don't know what happened and what to do, besides the obvious, bringing it to a repair shop or something, but I don't really want to, especially if it's something I can solve or try to.
If, after trying all the steps seen here multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; th-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/w-d-xo.html. You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement. Let me know if you would like help with any of that or with finding a motherboard. Sry it wasnt something easier :(
Great video. Also what about the Novo button? There should a be a tiny hard reset button like lot of the devices has which you can access with a pin or needle. Can that help too?
Yes, that can be tried and it may reset BIOS or allow you to access BIOS. This video is more for a computer that is dead and wont turn on or access BIOS though.

Lenovo 5 15ach6 power button coming on but no rgb on keyboard and display black. Happened yesterday after closing lid on accident while moving laptop playing destiny 2. Wouldn’t turn on for a while at all but then it started up randomly and worked. Tried to repeat with no success. I took the back off today and removed battery and ram, hit the power button to clear it, put it all back and it still won’t startup or have a reaction. I take care of the laptop and should be nothing from physical damage. Everyone has a black screen problem but not a no rgb and black screen problem. Ideapad Gaming 3 15IAH7 Intel, i left my laptop on then i went to nap woke up to my power light is off (either shutdown/hibernate according to the manual, not quite sure) rather than blinking light which shows that the laptop is on sleep, but the charging light is on showing white light meaning that the power supply works i guess. Long story short, the laptop wont turn on. Ive tried to do the power cycle like in the video by disconnecting from the motherboard and hold the button for around 60 second. The laptop still wont turn on. The novo button also doesnt work. Could the battery itself be faulty? Is there any possibilitt that my hardware is short-circuit? This laptop is 1 year old and due past the warranty. What could be the problem?
My Lenovo IdeaPad appears to start. Power light on. I can turn on the keyboard lighting, and cycle it. (Off, on dim, on bright, off). Holding power switch for 6 seconds turns the power light off for a second, and it lights up again. I left the pc on battery overnight. In the morning, the power light was out. Pressing power button did nothing, leaving me believing battery's fine. Plugging in the charger (about three months old) just brought on the fault I'm trying to clear. So, before I use the reset button, does this keep my files intact? I was in the process of transferring files to network hard drives when this happened.

@@PC_Monkey The lappy had been misbehaving, following the installion of W11 ver 22H2, which failed multiple times, between Dec 23 and Feb 24. I fired it up one morning, to find 22H2 installed, and 23H2 downloaded, ready to install. That produced the same problem, i.e. started installing, but never got past between 68% to 98%, if I remember correctly. I win't go into the pain that is M$ "Support", but a couple of weeks ago, it resisted all attempts to fix the issue, including downloading an iso. M$ Support loaded a "customised" image, which effectively flattened what I had. ver 24H2 is now installed, since that re-image. I've tried everything, apart from opening it. Charge pack is delivering 19.5 Volts. After running the battery down overnight, I plugged the charger back in. It got hot pretty rapidly, but cooled by the time the battery was fully charged, as indicated by the LED next to the power socket. (orange when charging, white when charged. I had the screen replaced, perhaps 6 months ago. When it came back, the mic and cam didn't work, but I had stuff to do. You've heard the story. lol

Hi, i have a Lenovo g585 laptop that doesn't turn on. For a few months now the battery was practically dead. It didn't charge and i used the laptop with both the charger and the battery on. Now suddenly it stopped working. I followed the power drainage procedure but nothing changed. When only the charger is on, the charging led stays white, no indication of power on the device, no sound, nothing. When the battery is on, either with the charger or without it, the only difference when pressing the power button is that the power led flashes three times and stops. Again, no internal sound, no indication that the laptop gets power from somewhere. Any idea if the problem is the battery, the charger or something else? Thanks!
THANK YOU!! I changed the power supply(which was damaged), then I tried to turn on the laptop nothing happened, no power. I held the POWER button down for 1 minute, re-installed the battery, then plugged in the power adapter and laptop turned on and booted up perfectly!

Hi! My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T440, Ubuntu OS system. I was doing a quiz and suddenly it started to lag, I couldn't press any key, and the screen just froze. I shut it down by holding down the power button. And now it doesn't work anymore, I tried the "power drain" method. Another thing is that I always put it in a charger when I use it. The power button light comes on, and I can hear the fan spinning, but after 1 minute the power button light goes out and I hear a little clicking sound. When I plug in the charger, the light also flashes. It used to happen before but I would stick a SIM tray in the hole behind the back and it’ll work now I don’t know what’s going on.

What should be the best thing to do? Thank you so much! Now I just let it on I will try to turn it on till the morning and see if it wakes up or screen pops out.

When i plug in the charger to the laptop it shows the orange light (meaning its charging) but when i try to switch on the laptop it makes a clicking sound and the num lock key stays on but the laptop does not switch on (no visual on the laptop) also there is a white light next to a power icon on the side on the laptop that keeps flickering, i tried getting into the diagnostic menu but i can't because the screen does not go on, no there wasnt any water spilled on it. What do i do?
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook 11M735. Not only does the battery not charge at all (the light is solid red when plugged in), but when I try to use it while it’s plugged in, it dies within 5 minutes. I’ve contact a few computer repair places in my area, but their price quotes and solutions have varied. I’ve been told I only need to replace the battery, while another told me that even with a dead battery it should work/not shut off when plugged in and that it’s not worth repairing. I went for over a year without using the computer so I had assumed that the battery had died from non-use, but the fact that it turns on immediately when plugged in only to completely die 5 minutes later really confuses me. I’ve tried to do refreshes, reboots, restarts that I’ve found on message boards, but nothing works or the computer doesn’t stay on long enough for me to do them. Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
@@PC_Monkey Thank you for your quick reply! I tried it, as best I could, and it didn’t seem to help. I currently don’t have the tools to open the back and remove the battery. I was able to keep it on long enough to do a Crome OS update, but when I went to then install it, everything went haywire. The screen keeps flashing on and off that’s it’s updating, the power button is flashing a white light, the charging indicator light keeps flashing green and red, and the computer can’t turn on or off unless I plug it in/out.

My phone works fine using this outlet. Works fine on battery. On the other hand I just watched a video where the guy took back off Chromebook. It was getting no power. The power light was off. If the charger and battery are not the cause, then your motherboard may need to be replaced. Just to make sure, can you use the computer with only the charger and not the battery for a day or two? Does the computer still need to be power released before use?
@@PC_MonkeyThank you for your swift response. yes , the computer needs to be power released even if the computer is used with charger only.it happens because I used my computer with bad battery with direct power supply with charger for sometime.

I'm having the exact same issue at the moment, did you mange to find a fix for it?
I'm having the same issue. Have you seen a solution

Thanks!
Were you able to try the other steps seen here? Also, did anything happen before the issue? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?
@PC_Monkey I tried but nothing changed. As far as I know, there was no specific incident before that , like accidents or software changes.

Hey how did u fix
Did you perform the steps as seen here? Removing the battery to do the power drain procedure as well as the BIOS reset?
There are 2 batteries in a t440
There is a reset button next to the internal battery connector.
I don't know, if disabling it in bios will work when unplugged or if you have to replace it

What should be the best thing to do? Thank you so much! Now I just let it on I will try to turn it on till the morning and see if it wakes up or screen pops out.

If, after trying all the steps seen here multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. You can see those two videos here; th-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/w-d-xo.html.

I have tried all these things it didn't work.
My lenovo ThinkPad beeps the charging light once i insert the charger into the port and then the light goes off immediately. When i remove the charger and insert it again, the same thing happens. Sometimes it makes a little sound when that light comes up. When i leave the laptop for a long time and plug it back in, sometimes it automatically comes up but goes back off, then when i continent to remove and insert the charger, it only beeps that light. From all the instructions uou gave in this video, i cant tell if its the charger or battery because none worked.
Please help me.
did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
My Thinkpad T480 is completely dead - no lights, fan, etc. Tried with good power supply, battery, memory, CMOS battery, etc. Did the power button and reset button multiple times with both power supply and battery.
If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.
i have a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 and the battery is internal. i have no clue what to do but ik the battery is internal. would u mind helping?
Does this help get at your battery? th-cam.com/video/aTDaqFunuOw/w-d-xo.html. Are there any signs of life at all when you try to turn it on? Lights? Fan, Motherboard, or Hard Drive sounds? Anything seen on the screen?

What should i do when my laptop has a broke power button, no power & no indicator? How am I going to fix my laptop? Please help me for this problem . Thank you
If your power button is broken, it would been to be replaced. You cant turn on a computer without a power button. Are you asking me where you can get a replacement button?
I have a g580 and I took out the cmos battery and know I will not display any thing. only thing that happens is the start up sound and the camera light is on. BTW I tried all of the tricks you showed.

Hi. I have a Lenovo Legion Y7000 2021 Model. Battery is taking a charge for like 20 seconds only. I have to unplug the charger and replug it but it still only takes a charge for 20 seconds. The worst part is, battery is at 0% already so I cannot use it to update/uninstall/reinstall drivers. Vantage says battery is in good condition. LED charging indicator at the back turns on when charger is plugged in. What is wrong with my laptop? Please help. 😭😭😭
Basically, when plugged to the charger, it is stuck at 0% because it will only take a charge for 20 seconds.
And then it will shut down. 😢
Is the power cord loose in the power port at all? Have you tried replacing the battery? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?

I have had this laptop for a year, and this is the first time it happens. I have been trying to turn it on many times and it does not work. My laptop has an internal battery but I don’t have access to it due to the lack of utensils. If there is any other way to fix it, I would be happy to hear it. It would help me a lot.
In order to try the testing method seen here, you would have to access the battery. You can see some tools here: www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey/list/2QAI8XMVWC7DK?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d.
Can you please help me, my laptop suddenly shut down while I was working, and then I hold the power button for 30sec, and nothing happend, then I did the reset battery button on the back, and now when I try to add ac power or press the power button, it goes on for like 2 seconds with light and fan on full speed and then shutsdown again and repeats whoel time, I also tried to do static release does not work, and then also now when I hold power button only the fans are running, I have lenovo thinkpad L14, Gen 4... please any help

@PC_Monkey I have tried the steps in the video multiple times still same issue, nothing was spilled or updating, I was just working casually and it shutdown suddenly, and my charger was plugged in
At the moment when I reset my battery hold power button in for 60seconds with batttery disconnected and I plug in my charge fans only run and no lights, when i press power button power lights turn on, battery light is red, and keyboard lights go on after few seconds it turns of again, does this repeatedly until I press reset battery or unplug it then it will shut down
